Friday's special was swai fish and shrimp. I chose the shrimp- excellent. The coleslaw was the best I've ever eaten The service was efficient and friendly. Downside: Many of our sandwiches had the basic Boars Head brand meat, unless it was a unique item. Upside: The flip side is that the care and prep into these sandwiches, from order where they ensured we had many options was impeccable. The smiling faces, the items that they made in-house, are what set them aside from many other sandwich shops. The various selections of cheese and meats in the shop for creating your own at home were great. The shop isn't a true eat-in, unless you call the two tables as options... but for a grab and go... the food is top notch. We got home and agreed that it was amongst the best. We will be returning again.. and again... and again.... Ohhh. The many smoked wood bacon options.... Oooooo. Got 4 different choices to take home and each was amazing!!! read more

Ok I have admit I am jaded and I live in defiance, but I love this amazing shop. I tend to buy them out of bulk breakfast sausage and the Dry Cure their bacon. Let me say that again so it sinks in....Dry Cure. Best bacon in or around St. Louis. My daughter is addicted to their summer sausage. Stopped in after touring the Daniel Boone historic home and what a great choice. This is the CLEANEST deli we have ever been in and the girls who were working were top notch! Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and super helpful. There was a line wrapped around the cooler in the center (socially distanced) and they took care of everyone in no time. In between they were constantly cleaning - even the tile walls behind the counters and sinks. I had the Haus specialty 'The Bavarian' on Rye and hubs had the Black Forest Ham and Swiss. They were HUGE sandwiches and the freshest we have ever had. Fresh veggies, fresh breads, fresh meats. This place is the real deal! You can also pick up steaks, meats of all type and even the good old fashioned dog bones that our Great Danes would have loved but can't be found in most of the country anymore. Add to that fresh pies, cookies, snacks, drinks and even German beer. This place is just a solid FIVE stars. read more

What a great place! We just moved to the area about two months ago and all kidding aside, I've eaten here at least five times, if not more! They offer daily specials and you can even take a picture of the monthly calendar so you know when your favorite sandwich will be on the menu for the day! We stopped in here to get a break from the heat and have sandwiches during a recent softball tournament. The gentlemen working behind the counter were very mannerly and made sandwiches with care. I went here while we were in town over the Thanksgiving weekend and the place is great. We first had some sandwiches and chips then we bought some of their meats. The meats that we brought back to Colorado were hot dogs, bacon, and brats in which all were just fabulous. I don't go into this place as much as I would like to but I also don't keep meat long enough before it goes bad. This place had really good meats at a really good price. My fiancé loves their applewood smoked bacon. It's super thick and packed full of flavor. I stopped in on my way home the other day to grab a sandwich because I didn't feel like making anything. I got a turkey sandwich. The guy working was super helpful in suggesting what to add to make my sandwich delicious and he was right!! They have a good variety of sandwiches and I'm anxious to try their lunch specials one of these days! They also have a big selection of rubs and marinades, and other snacks and drinks. They also carry Boars Head deli meats and they're actually cheaper than Schnucks! Try them out sometime! read more

I love this place! Every time I step into that that door ( in the evening) the people behind the counter all ways say hello to me and to every one, they really make you fell like you have know them all of your life. The steaks they sell are amazing and so is all of there bacon that they sell, and there brats are to die for. There customer serves is fantastic, especially the young man that works there occasionally out of the week, his name is Tyler, and is the only person I want to wait on me! He always says hello and asks me how I am doing, he really makes you feel like a friend. He always answers my questions to the best of his ability and will go out of his way to figure out my question. He his always friendly, always in a good mood, and he always make my trips there, for what ever I may need that day, so much easier and enjoyable. While all of this he also is normally cleaning, or wiping down something and all way has the Bavarian in tip top shape.
