So I was added as an account holder for my aunt's account without my knowledge. She passed away last year and I apparently am being held responsible for past due bills. I sent the death certificate in January and yet the account WITH MY INFORMATION was sent to collections. I received NO notices and NOTHING in writing, only a call from a collection agent yesterday who informed me of this issue. I called Bay Alarm and explained the situation. The rep said the equipment charge was removed however I'm still responsible for the past due bills. I said okay, called collections and to my surprise, the equipment charge was also reported to collections! I paid the past due bills and the agency reported they would file a dispute for the equipment charge. Today I called Bay Alarm back and they confirmed that the equipment charge was waived and are unsure of how it got to collections! I asked for verification, sent via email, that the equipment charge was waived but the agent said they were unable to do that. Their only suggestion was to call the collection agency back to verify that the equipment charge is no longer being collected. I'm not sure how this is even legal, but I seriously don't recommend anybody use Bay Alarm due to their shady business practices. read more

Ended our contract and service. This is one of the worst companies to do business with. Customer service when I would call was horrendous. Salesman ended up putting us on a contract where the payment would increase monthly?! Never explained that to us at all, we were given a price of $60 per month and when I saw a higher bill and called in, they said it's in the contract that the pricing increases?! Whaaaaat!!!! Super predatory practices. As soon as the contract was up, I called in and spoke with the manager to cancel the service and she said I would have to pay a termination fee as my contract was still Active. I asked her if she had a copy of my contract and to open it, she did and guess what? Contract was done! She wanted us to stay and not cancel. These people are rude and unethical. Horrible customer service/response. Just what you want in a Alarm company!!! Our company was with Perma Guard for years. Their service was great, however we stopped using their services because we were working at all hours and we always had two or three people in facility. They transferred our account to Bay Alarm even after we had canceled (I guess the cancellation never went through?). We were never alerted that Bay Alarm took over our account, we never signed a contract. Now I've been receiving bills for the last few months and I've tried to cancel our account numerous times. I called twice in June told them to cancel our account, and then I emailed them on July 2nd to have it in writing- IN WRITING since by this point I had already canceled with Perma guard over the phone and Bay Alarm over the phone and none of it had worked. Here we are in September and I'm still receiving bills, and the bills are for more than the bill that I had received in June when I canceled in writing. I have a stack of paperwork, notes, and emails from this company. I can never get a straight answer from anyone in customer service. A simple name removal of a cotenant at the location took months to resolve and now the current tenant cannot pay the bill because no one has a "code" for Baynet. Apparently the only way to go online and pay the bill. Whenever we call, we hold for an hour and get nowhere. Emails get passed around to different people and they come back with different resolutions. If I could take back ever using them in the first place, I would in a heartbeat. No one has been apologetic, or even helpful. I have never had this many issues with a company in all of my 30 years in administrative work. read more

Commercial account. Installers are great. However, when you call for support, you are almost always put on a long hold. When you need someone to come out, they usually can't come for at least 2 days, unless you press really hard for them to come later in the day. When a tech arrives, they usually do a great job at resolving our issues. The software is difficult to manage if you have a large business, or make frequent changes. Not easy to change to another company if you are in contract, so do your research. My sales rep is not proactive- doesn't periodically follow up to see how our system is doing, and if we want to change anything. We've been a customer for several years. Maybe they are understaffed due to COVID, but they need to assure existing customers that we are important. read more

All other important items such as cost, your contact information, etc., are typed in bold. It's a sneaky practice and needs to stop. My fault for not going through the contract word for word. I got stuck for 5 years. Their key pad is very annoying. You have to wait until the system is ready before which takes a while before you can arm it. After arming you may need to override or bypass - which I still haven't figured which one does what. Their contacts are set to auto-renew so BE CAREFUL! Hello, if you have had an experience with Bay Alarm Company removing their equipment and leaving hard wired censors in your house attic or strung to the wall and refusing to remove them on one pretext or another, perhaps some story that its "not their wires" please leave me a private message. I am curious as too how many people have asked them to take their so called alarm system down and being left with holes and leftover wiring and being pedaled a story that by a miracle it was some other company that was there before with control panel exactly a perfect fit for their system. This companies failure to disclose needing a security word cost us a 220.00 dollar fine for a false alarm visit from the police. Sending a technician who was somebody elses boss, only to discover that he "wasn't much familiar" with the control panel we had. What the hell? Claiming that the hole they so graciously claimed was the location of their control panel, was already there when they put in the system, but would fill it in. Right, with play dough no doubt. A nightmare 3 weeks with this company who thinks that they are dealing with a couple of rubes who they can sell any excuse to. Wrong. Big Mistake. read more
