But on this particular day, I somehow ended up having two in one night. I started the day partying at SVN, and before heading into Midway, I decided I needed to get a hot dog in my stomach to sober up. Then after a full night at Midway, I got another one on my way home to help reset. I've never had two hot dogs in a single day before, but they hit the spot both times and guess what? No heartburn ftw! Each hot dog was $10, which felt fair considering how big and filling they are. It's not some tiny snack - they're fully loaded, grilled to perfection, and just the thing you want when you're out late and need something savory and satisfying. I'm always grateful these vendors are out here, especially after they kept me from getting too buzzed. Highly recommend trying one at least once.

It was advertised as the LAST Food Truck Strike, but I'm hoping it was just the last one of the season and not forever. I got there about an hour after the trucks opened for business and the lines had little to no wait time. That was both awesome (insta-food!) and bad (over-splurge!). My group and I stopped at 4 out of the 8 trucks. I'll close with a story of food truck camaraderie. I saw the guy from Koja Kitchen deliver several koja to the An the Go truck in exchange for garlic noodles. A food swap! Nice to see folks in the biz supporting and sharing each other's cuisine. They were a fast alternative to the nearby food trucks but a substitute for nothing. Using natural ingredients, two of us had the Thai Tea and Salted Chocolate popsicles ($6 apiece) and neither of us had anything wonderful to say about either. What we both thought was that each was too mild in flavor to do anything more than satisfy a desire for something cold. If it takes unnatural ingredients to improve the taste I'd be all for it.
