You can say that's pretty much a hike by then. This park has both walking and biking trails; I like to do nature walks and loop back into the concrete paths. The very end leads you to a residential area and furthermore walking, but I stop at the loop. Be careful if you decide to walk the trails in the evenings since careless dog owners love to have their dogs roam without the leash despite the leash laws. I've had three big dogs come up to me and their owners were no where to be found. I love the local artwork in the park; it's so vibrant and nice to look at. There are two dog parks for small and large dogs, but since they are considered a cesspool (that's how my veterinarian described it), I don't take my dog here. The dog parks are huge and apparently maintained on Mondays so they are closed. Unlike other parks I've been to, this one has restrooms near the basketball courts. There is a large parking lot and a field for baseball too. The paths for the bike trails are dirt, some rocky, but trekking poles aren't needed since majority of the path is flat. However, if you go deep into the woods where the trails continue on, there are some parts that are steep in slope. This is a pretty well rounded park that has everything for everyone. I've even seen people fishing in the bayous. Lynn Gripon is very near Challenge Seven park, but as you know Challenger 7 trails are under construction so this is the best best thing! The Husky attacked my dog and would not let go of him, the large strong man tried to pull him off and in the mist of that I got my hand bit. The guys other dog came up behind me and bit my hamstring which I had to get stitches on and also stitches in my hand. My dog also had to go to the doctor's office as well, with a wound to his ear. The guy left the park and never came back to check on us and exchange information. I do appreciate the people there checking on me but no on stopped the guy to get his information. Its a nice dog park and the people were nice but after going for a few weeks you can tell the dogs kind of clique up and that can be scary when they are hovering over your dog and trying to pick a fight. If you go I would say stay away from the morning group 6:30-9:00am.

It really is comforting & relaxing to view. The jungle gym is a 1-up from Crenshaw, because the slides go underground and it is so monstrous for kids. Even though, I know I cannot play on it it's still great to look at and kids do enjoy it! The trails are amazing feel for any adult to find solace!

One thing I'm failing to understand is just because a breed of dog is small, why make the section for them tiny?! I mean, they need space and room to run, play, jump, and socialize too! The larger breed dog park is huge--it's about at estimate a parking lot size whereas the smaller dog park is at estimate two guest bedrooms combined together. Now, the larger dog park had jumping activities, several benches to sit, and enough space. Though, the smaller dog park had one table with shade--two ladies crowded the table. Two filthy buckets of water with brown dirt caked on the bottom. It had dead flies laying in the water--plus it probably had all kinds of saliva from sick and healthy dogs. It was pretty gross. In both small and large dog parks, it wasn't no doggie poop bags. They were stone cold out! I had to give this lady two bags of what I bought. The park was pathetic. It was strange because it was workers there in the park and its not like they seemed to care about what the park lacked. I guess they were there for the money only. Also, back in 2012 when my sister and I came out with Pocky and his sister the larger dog park had a hole in the fence. My two babies got out of the gate onto incoming traffic. I'm not sure if they fixed that or not, but that was a huge issue. Now, the event Paws in the Park was pretty ok. They had a lot of vendors selling things: dog clothing, accessories, nail trims, dog rescue groups, doggie pool, and lots of dogs. The event is free with free parking. That's the nice. However. the park is crap. It was bare-minimum--not a great park at all.

Well, keep driving around the pond and to the back.....oh yeah, that's more like it! There's a running/walking trail, tons of picnic tables with grills, a covered pavilion, a disc golf course (Frisbee golf? I'm not sure what it's called, but I always see people playing!), a playground, a fishing pier, a volleyball court and a baseball field and plenty of trash cans with dog pooper-scooper stations so you have no excuse to not pick up after your pet! They do allow dogs off the leash here but please be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet! It's usually not real busy mostly because not too many people know it's here except for the people in the neighborhood. Wait. I may have just messed that up, huh? lol It's within walking distance of my work so I like to come here at lunch and walk around the trail. It's very well maintained and partly cement and partly small rock. It can get muddy after a rain of course, but that's everywhere. And they did build a wood bridge over a spot that was always flooding, which is nice. If you're in the area and want a nice, well-maintained park to have a picnic, or just walk around and take in the sights (the trail runs along part of Taylor Lake which is part of Galveston Bay), this a great place for that!

Webster has some really nice…read moreparks; I wish I had realized that sooner, but now that I am running more, and looking for different places to run during my longer runs, I have stumbled across this little hidden gem. I always knew it was here, and we actually stopped by here one year around Christmas time as they decorate the little gazebo with white lights. It's very pretty, and very romantic, but after that time I sorta forgot it was here. Yesterday though I was on a long run and decided to see if this park has a running trail. And it does! It's only 1/4 of a mile but a lot of it is shady (nice!) and I love the surface! It's not gravel like Texas Avenue and it's softer than asphalt. It feels like the surface that's on an actual track. And bonus, there's NOBODY here. If you want a quiet, solitary run, come here! There was one lady and her young child at the playground area and as I was leaving another runner came along. That's it. Maybe it gets busier later, or at different time, I don't know. Now granted, this is a small park. No bathrooms, no water fountains, and just a couple little playground areas. But lots of picnic tables and benches and the nice gazebo, and of course the little track. But for a nice little quiet run in a nice little quiet neighborhood, this is the place to be! I know I will be back!

The other time I've been here was when my dad wanted to put his kayak in the lake to "test". I like that there's a trail that covers the perimeter of the lake. Despite being a small park, it doesn't get as packed because there's three other parks in the area: Stevenson, Lynn Gripon, Challenger 7. There's not much shade unfortunately so walking in the summer can be a heat bath of sweat. Watch out for the dog poop splatter on the boardwalk since we have careless dog owners who won't pick up their dog feces. Overall, a decent park to walk off 4 miles easily.

If had been any hotter, it would not have been good for the walk because the trail was not very shady. The lake itself is NOT accessible for swimming or for the dogs. It looks like fishing and kayaking was allowed which is accessed from the docks. It also looked great for gatherings as there was a huge gazebo type shelter for a party.
