My dogs went crazy when they saw the dog beach. I had 2 labs that lived for swimming here. It's awesome when you can catch it in quieter days as it's become quite popular. As evidenced by his refusal to leave for 5 full minutes, my rescued fur baby gives this park 5-stars. Coming in at a hefty 65-70lbs of questionable coordination, expert intellect, and pure speed, it's been a challenge mentally and physically exhausting my active Border Collie mix. Unfortunately even after his very active dog dad's runs combined with a generous backyard and playdates with his fur friend, he's got more remaining energy in one paw than I have in an entire month. This park is fabulous regardless of if your fur baby is this active, or prefers to relax on a bench undisturbed (although a division for the two play styles is the only thing I'd suggest adding). As others have mentioned, the dog beach, shaded benches, dog runs, trail, doggy showers, and overall cleanliness of the park are impressive. Additionally most dog parents are as trained as their pups, remaining attentive, and polite. Just be sure to watch the water if your pup is overconfident in their swimming abilities. read more

I love this dog park. I don't like the inconvenience of it. It's kinda far from me which stinks but I adore this little patch of land. Now be forewarned. There is a huge break in problem with vehicles here. So pack light and don't leave important stuff in your car. Now to the park. It's well maintained. Just last week they were there pressure washing all of the concrete and benches. The trees are not mature yet but in 10 years there will be amazing shade trees. Nice concrete paths. Water access for the large dog side and the small dog side. Restrooms for humans. Little water bowls for puppers. Has some ramps for when they want to go four wheeling. But honestly it's just nice and open. If you need a dog park day for your fur kiddos, this place is so much fun. read more

my dog loves this park !! Everyone who comes to this park is always so kind and friendly and my boy loki loves all the attention he gets from everyone lol . And omg the lake is wonderful when the pets get a little too hot they can always take a dip in the lake and if they get a little bit messy; the park has many shower hose located right outside of the gate !! This place was so pretty! Just wish I lived in the area. I took my pup a few weeks ago and the park was pretty kept (compared to Johnny Steele). The park had a entrance in to the lake which is great for my pup since she's not big on swimming plus it's not smelling of chlorine. In addition there is a great concrete track around the lake which I was able to take my dog around without too many distractions (we are still in training stage). The park wasn't too crowded, there were approximately 3-4 bathing stations. and there is substantial parking. There is nothing bad I can say about this park. read more

What a great park for pups!! The beach access is really awesome for pups that swim! There's a chance they can swim past the fence and get stuck on the other side, but as unlikely as I thought, I watched two dogs do just this. Owner remained calm and pups just swam back. We loved the agility course, though our dog wouldn't have anything to do with it! Lots of water fountains across the park; the bowls fill up and have a slow release. A few areas to sit down and have shade, but all in all the park is new and the trees need to grow to offer shade along the track. The small dog side is nice and big as well. There's a bathroom for humans as well. The wash facilities are super clean for the pups. I wish there was shade over top though. read more

This is our usual go to spot, but we went today and it's over grown with sticker plants. I have two 5lb poodles and they came home covered in these stupid weeds. We were only there for about 20 minutes and it took about 30 minutes just to get them off!!! They need to do something about all those sticker weeds. We won't be coming back until then. Last thing is that dogs clearly over 25-30lbs keep coming to the small dog side and they're pretty scary for the tiny dogs that come by regularly. No one seems to tell them anything and this has been happening for the last couple of months. read more

I was looking for a new dog park to take my job rather then my usual and I was looking for some place with mini dog beach. This place popped up and I had to go check it out with my doggo. I was pleasantly surprised, this place is beautiful! My dog loved the mini beach and obstacle courses, the place was also up kept nicely and very clean. Everyone was friendly and respectful. The only con is, it is a bit of a drive for me but I would definitely return every once in a while. read more

We love coming to this park! I am not rating 5 stars for a few reasons. 1) In the spring, the sticker burrs are rampant. 2) In the fall, there are acorns all over the place, which the dogs try to eat. And 3) This is the biggest one- I wish they would extend the fence in the water across to completely close the dogs in. My dog has gotten out by going around the fence a couple times. Good clean park. Running trail around the lake is almost exactly two miles, with periodic strength training stations every 1/8 mile or so. Two sets of play equipment and parking areas. One north of the lake (which also adjoins the dog park) with access from Barker Cypress, and another south side of the lake with access from West Rd. Pedestrian only access exists through a gate in Copper Lakes, but there isn't really parking there, so if you are driving, choose one of the other access points. Working water fountains at both locations, so water available for runners every 1 mile approx. Running path is 6-8 feet wide. Look out for people on bicycles too. Even after dark it is bright enough from ambient lighting to run, but the entire loop is NOT lit. Landscaping and grass is new and still getting established. Will be nicer when that happens. Trash receptacles are available and thus far being used. Really nice area to jog. read more

This is a very nice park. It has a 2 miles loop around a lake, where people like to fish. Running the loop you will find many runners or walkers with dogs, so that means you may run into poop once in a while lol! It is so tranquil, and is definitely a great place for a run. I used to run the park two to three loops, which was not too bad on my knees. Now, I'm expecting a little one so we just enjoy the Doggy park, which is also great! The small Doggy park also has access to the lake, which I'm sure many pups like to go in there when it is hot outside. The other section of the Doggy park is for the larger breeds. Both sides of the dog parks have tented seating areas, water fountains for the dogs to maintain hydrated and a track for owners to walk or for the dogs to to run. My dog goes WILD here lol! There are many nice dogs that want to play. Once in a while you run into an occasional barker. I am definitely a big fan of this dog park! read more

Me and my puppy travel far and wide around the area to find the perfect dog park and this has been our favorite for a year now. It's an hour away from Spring but it's worth it. The best time is to come in the evening when it's a little cooler, there is a lake for your puppy to splash in with easy access, the grass is magnificent, beautiful wide areas for energetic beings. They even have wash stations right outside of the dog park. Nothing better than seeing a lot of happy dogs--happy owners. read more

This park is great. It has plenty of open space and an agility space to entertain your furbaby. I loved that the wash stations are so close to the parking lot and very well maintained. It's much bigger than the one closest to us, we will definitely be back soon! On a side Note: Be careful where you step on the grass, it seems a lot of the owners don't pick up after their pooch and theres a lot of poop everywhere Even though there are more than a few poop bag stations, very well stocked might I add, for you to use. We love coming to this dog park as a family. For the most part, the owners that attend keep an eye on their dogs and will correct bad behavior. We love the beach access to the little lake, which allows our new puppy to walk into the water and get used to playing in the water on his own term rather than having to leap into a pool. Also, there is no blue dye in the water like the pools at bill archer dog park. The park tends to have a cool breeze, which is always nice. There are two sitting areas on the small dog side and two on the large dog side. Agility courses on both, along with a few drinking fountains. There are boulders down by the water so you can sit, but it would be nice if there were some sort of shade, considering this is Texas and it gets SO hot. At least the water will help keep the dogs somewhat cool. Watch out for the surprises in the grass! They are all over the place! read more

Great park! It's located nearby some really nice communities, like Town Lake, and overall well maintained. We visited on a Sunday evening and there was a large parking (not covered by a roof or trees) area. Upon entering the park, you'll see the washing stations (about 4). The spaces are ample and you can wash a large dog comfortably. The hoses are long, flexible, and you can control the water pressure. Outside the fenced area, your pet must be on a leash. The play areas are divided into two, but one is clearly marked with an "under 20lbs" dog sign. The fences are high, grass areas well maintained and respected by others (very few droppings ). There was a running trail within the play area in case you want to workout while your little one plays or run together, including an obstacle course. The lake area has a slanted cement entrance to the water for the dogs to use. Be prepared to get a little wet and licked by many friendly faces . Lots of kids were in the area enjoying all pets too; it was family oriented. Tips: 1) bring a bowl and drinking water for your pet 2) if you are going to use the washing stations, bring your own shampoo and towel 3)go in the evening as there is minimal shade. The trees are few and very young. read more

I've been running at this park for quiet some time and never bothered to review this place. This would be my first review at a park. Setting: The actual dog park is inside the 2 mile trail and it is fenced up. They have about 4 or more hose stations for the dogs and water fountains for the dogs as well. The trail itself is actually 1.97 miles and it's a good place for joggers, walkers, cyclist, and rollerbladers. There's a huge beautiful lake in the center where I see some people go fishing. They also have ducks and birds in the lake. The trail kind of splits into 2 halfway. There's a upper half, that's next a kid's playground and the lower half, next to the lake. The trail itself is an asphalt trail. Overall: Good place to run and it can really be windy at certain points. The best time to run is sun down, past 7pm. One side of the trail gives you shade because of the apartment buildings next to it and there are some trees that give you some shade along the trail. They have benches and certain exercise bars at the quarter pit stops where you can do pull ups, leg lifts, push-ups, squats, etc. read more

The park has a double gate system so you can safely get your pup in and out. The hot spot of this park is the swimming. They have a section which connects to a lake, with a concrete ground so you don't get muddy while your furry friends are diving in. There is supposedly a gate in the water which prevents dogs from completely swimming away, as the lake stretches far past where the park ends. I'm only giving this park 3 stars because I can imagine it being quite unbearable on sunny days. I wish there was more shade, or a longer walking path. Overall it is quite small, so maybe not the best if you want to exercise your dog by walking/running in the small area. read more

The park is okay sized, there are bigger and smaller parks in the area. I'd say it's a medium sized park. Very little shade, in fact none outside the man made structures. The large dog side seriously needs cleaning. Fields where owners let their dogs just drop their poop, and walk away. There are a few concrete/asphalt type sidewalks to walk through the park, but the loop forces you down near the waters edge. The bad with this is all the wet dogs that you now have to dodge. The idea that the water feature here is a natural pond/lake and not a man made pool with blue dyed water is nice, but who wants a strange wet dog running up on them? A comment for owners: clean up after your pet, your pet displaying dominance and trying to hump everything that moves is not "cute" or "funny". Be responsible for your pets actions! read more

This is hands-down the best dog park in the greater Houston area. Forget Bill Archer and Millie Bush. This park is set on a large lake (probably about 60 acres) within a large park (200 acres). There is a 3+ mile paved trail around the lake, and a nice playground/picnic area on the south side of the like. This dog park is on the north side and is perched up on a hill. It has fantastic views. The park has all the amenities - wash station, human bathrooms, doggy waste bags and trash bins, human and doggy water fountains, a nice obstacle course, paved and covered seating areas and benches along the short walking trail within the dog park, and most importantly - the water access! This dog park is adjacent the lake with a section fenced off into the water. It is graded so the dogs can easily go in/out of the water. It is also fenced about 10yds into the water to help ensure your dog stays in the dog park. The water is clean (I would swim in it). The lake is stocked and is a popular destination for fisherman. I've tried all the dog parks in the greater Houston area and is definitely the best one out there. It's a 45min drive for me but well worth it. I wish I could take my pup more often. read more

Good police patrol, you can count on seeing them multiple times a day, and this is one of the safest parks in Harris County because of that. Make a note! This park closes at dusk, it's posted on all the signs, not 10pm like the internet says. Officers come lock up and clear the park every night. read more

I GET TO RUN UP AND DOWN HILLS? GREATEST PARK EVER!" This may not be the greatest park ever but it is truly up there with some of the great dog parks of Houston. Decent sized park split into large dog/small dog sections. Water fountains set up for dogs and humans. Walking path within gated area and much longer walking trail that is paved around circumference of the lake. The lake! My dogs loved it! Even my lesser-swimming dog had a great time swimming around in the water. The water that is lake colored and not blue as we all have become used to at our area dog parks. Now the part that my dogs detest and I adore. The dog wash stations. There are plenty of stalls so no real waiting to get your dog washed. Good spots to leash the dogs up to so no worries about them trying to run off. My dogs act as if getting their bath after the park is the end of the world but after lake swimming, dirt rolling fun a bath is a necessity. From a runners perspective, this park is awesome if you want to get an under 5 mile run. The trail is a 1.97 loop wrapped around a scenic lake. There are 3 water fountains along the trail with a smooth blacktop surface and a few inclines for a challenge. Plus, every 3/4 of a mile is an exercise station if you really want to up your workout game. Bring your fur babies with you because there is a wonderful dog park equipped with dog washing stations and a dog beach-way cool. Not to mention, your real babies will have fun at the playground. All it needs is a few athletic events to showcase the possibilities the park can bring to the community. A wonderful addition to the burbs. read more

I am so glad I discovered this doggie park. Actually this is the first doggie park I've visited as my previous pet would have not fit in well with the well behaved animals that frequent there. My current pet is a mild-mannered pug mix and was looking for a nice environment to take him so he can excercise and socialize. After reading a few reviews from some of my yelp buds, I decided to check it out and we went two days in a row (Saturday and Sunday). They have an area for dogs 20 lbs and under and a separate section for dogs over 20 lbs. The dogs are able to play and even swim. Then if you don't want to put awet, stinky 4 legged child in your car, they have wash stations set up for you. That's great. It's a doggie park but it has a play area for kids and a walking trail. I love this dog park. My dog and I go twice a week. The people are friendly and there is more than enough room for your dogs. The landscape is nice and there isn't much poop in the recreational areas. There are nice agility stations for your dog as well as trails and a lake area. there are rocks for sitting near the water so you can enjoy watching your dog play and swim. There is also a park across the way that you can walk to using the trial. its a great place for you and your dog. I recommend it read more

My dogs love this place! The area for the smaller dogs is pretty big. It has plenty of areas to relax while your pup runs free. There's also obstacles that they can explore if they're feeling adventurous. To cool off, there's a small beachy area that goes into the lake. Unlike the dog park near buffalo bayou, the water seems decently clean. The park is kept clean, all the water fountains for the dogs function, and the human bathrooms are also clean. read more
