    Broken frame that Lou fixed
    Vineet M.

Lou is super prompt in responding and taking care of your need. My bed frame got detached from the rails as part of the move and the movers just patched it so I don't notice. Painfully the bed frame broke mid-night while I was asleep and it felt like an earthquake. I called Lou in the morning and he showed up within an hour and got it fixed immediately at a nominal price. Highly recommend him!

Luis responded quickly to my email request for help to repair a mahogany table with a bad chip out of the corner. He had to rebuild the corner, as the missing piece had been gone for decades. He came to our house today to make the repair. I didn't know chips like this could be fixed, but there you go! He even gave us a quote for refinishing our kitchen cabinets. Thanks!

I found Villar restoration on Yelp. And i'm glad that I found him. He did a great job for my sink base cabinet water damaged. His price is very reasonable. We communicated thru email and he can explain briefly on what he will be doing. He also went to the job site to discuss things over before he do the job. He is very punctual with his appointments even though he is very busy. He tells you how many hours will he need to finish his job. Just a tip... Need to book ahead, I waited for 2 weeks to get an appointment.

    Repaired!!

The mold dog flagged all the places that were "remediated" by all action. The drywall with mold were all taken out but unfortunately the studs with mold were just encapsulated and painted over, therefore still exposing us to molds. I've learned that the proper way of treating studs is to remove and replace and if that's not possible, sand, hepa vacuum, antimicrobal and wire brush all the mold out of the studs. Unfortunately, we learned our lesson the hard way. Please be sure to properly vet your potential mold remediation company and understand if they do things properly and rid of ALL the mold. If you need your house to be medically clean of mold, steer clear from this company. They don't care about clients, they just want to get their foot through the door, get rid of the easy mold on the drywalls and not put in the hard work to really get the mold out of the studs. They will just cover up all the mold with white sealant and call it a day. Again we had an ERMI done two years later, which stachy and chaet still showed up. Learn about your molds, these are the baddddd molds. We then took things further and hired a mold dog & she flagged all the places we remediated. They're also not IICRC certified. Wish I had done better research earlier. See photos.

He recently helped me design a drainage solution for my current home after our basement flooded. Dan is very, very thorough. He took the time to educate me on how the construction is typically done for homes built in the 1950s and 1960s. Then he presented multiple options for waterproofing the home, giving me a variety of choices and price points. Once we got started with the construction, he came back and gave a ton of implementation details that were very helpful. His work was instrumental in helping me to get a permit from the City for the work. He educated me on multiple details, which enabled me to speak intelligently with the city engineers, resulting in a design that was approved by the City in just 1 day (the counter staff said the designs are usually approved in 2-3 weeks!). Dan was also very responsive. I had a very tight schedule and he made himself very available and accessible. I'm very happy with his work and got great value working with Dan!

He quoted me over $5,000 to do the soil analysis; I said no-thank-you to that, and we both went our separate ways. Then several months later, I got a bill from him! I called GeoForensics immediately and told the receptionist that I never hired him: no written contract or verbal agreement. I politely left my number and asked Dan to call me back; he never did. Then A YEAR later, he sent me another (outstanding) bill! I called again and spoke with the receptionist. I again politely left my number and asked Dan to call me back; he never did. So I called a third time to follow up on this, and the receptionist finally said they will remove the charges. During this entire time, I never spoke with Dan the man himself, who initiated all those charges. Then Dan sent a letter to the City's Building department complaining that there was "theft of intellectual property." I can understand how he is upset because he misunderstood, but I would have at least expected to have a mature conversation with him. This entire experience just made him look like a jerky little kid acting out because of something that was actually his fault. Based on this, I would not recommend him to anyone who needs soil engineering needs. 1 star off: poor communication 1 star off: poor customer service 1 star off: poor accounting 1 star off: not so poor engineer if he is charging $5,000 to analyze a soil sample...

We were concerned about it, worried about any longterm effects it may create to our home and our health, and so decided to look for a company to remove the white substance build up, treat the the whole area, and apply protective barrier to prevent the moisture. After getting an estimate from another company, we decided to go with Bordi Restoration. The work included: scraping the top soil, spray a disinfectant onto the soil, used a HEPA air scrubber, and then fitted a crawlspace moisture barrier. They just completed the work today. The work was estimated for three days, but they finished in two days instead. Everything was done nicely, with the moisture barrier fitted neatly, really clean install. The workers were friendly and respectful of our property. Communication with Craig (owner) was easy, as he responded quickly to our text messages, explained things very well, his responses being detailed, but also easy to understand. It was also easy to communicate with Donovan, the staff member who handled the scheduling and billing, as he was very easy to work with, and very helpful. The value was very good, as the estimated cost was cheaper than the other company, and the work they did came out very nicely. Working with this company was easy and smooth, and we would recommend them for sure. Thank you Bordi Restoration for the great work on our home, and also for the awesome service! Very happy with tour work! Much appreciated!!

We got a quote which was very competitive and reasonable and moved forward to setting a date for the crew to clean and do a deeper assessment. We had accidentally forgotten that we agreed for the work to start on a Thurs instead of Friday, and the office called right away to clarify and sent the team out very quickly after we sent them away. The cleaning crew themselves were great! Shu, the forewoman, was on top of it, communicated the problem and solution in a very straightforward and simple manner. Was very thorough with pictures, instructions, and her assessment. Craig identified that we may need a moisture barrier in the crawlspace to really help decrease the amount of moisture impacting the walls during the rainy season. Another quote for the closet and bathroom clean-up was sent to us, which had not changed in terms of pricing. We knew that the 2nd project would require a new quote later. After 3 days of drying, we contacted Craig to coordinate time for pick up of the equipment. We also received the finalized invoice- the cost ended up being nearly 2x the original quote, which caught us off-guard. Craig explained that the labor hours had to increased from an estimated of 4 hrs to 12 hrs and covered for travel (though we only live about 2.5 mi away from his listed office) and equipment loading time, which surprised us as it was never mentioned or called out. There was already a $100 service/trip charge, so for additional hrs counted for travel felt unreasonable. The crew was on-site for 5 hours max. He did give us a discount which was appreciated, but we felt that the quotes and pricing model were not transparent. This really disappointed us, especially given the quality of service and how easy it was to work with Craig initially. We had a 2nd project to encapsulate the crawlspace which we went with another company whose pricing ended up exactly as estimated, despite taking a 1.5 days more than anticipated.

Since the first day of work, Dio was thorough, professional, and honest with his work. He didn't break down any walls or ceilings, just drilled holes at the affected areas to run tubing for his drying equipment. He and his assistant always came on time, sometimes a bit earlier, to check progress and work. When his initial attempt to dry the floor didn't work as well as we hoped, he informed me that the bathroom floor needed to be removed so his equipment can do its magic - a statement backed up by the field adjuster for my home insurance who checked the damage, so I knew he was being honest. The water mitigation and repairs took weeks due to logistics, and I had to pay him late because my insurance stopped responding and I needed to secure funds first. But through it all, Dio and his assistant were patient and understanding. When they fixed up the holes they made in the garage and realized the paint didn't match, they came back the next day with the right color, no problem. Their work was so good, you can't even tell there was damage in the first place! I highly recommend Dio to anyone who needs water mitigation work. Thank you so much, Dio!
