It's refreshing to work directly with the owner of a company and to have him be very responsive to my questions and transparency with pricing. Paul was able to work with my timeline and was ahead of schedule with the materials being ready. I lagged a bit in the install with the area not being quite ready but the moment we were Paul's team was ready to install. They completed my glass railing installation in half a day and took great care in keeping the work area clean and not causing any damage to the flooring. Very professional throughout the process and clear with when payments were due. I would not hesitate again to reach out to him for the next phase of my project. Extra plus is they manufacture the railings and therefore control the timing and costs whereas some installers I received quotes from send out for material and take can take some extra lead time. He also did not attempt to upsell me when I inquired about thicker glass than what the industry standard calls for. It's rare to find honest companies at times like these. Paul and Bay Area Railings were outstanding!! I needed cable railings for a deck remodel where I was going to do the actual DIY installation. I gave Paul the proposed deck layout and my requirements and he designed the actual post layout and gave me what I thought was a very fair price for the materials. Then, as with most DIY projects, life got in the way and it wasn't until a year later that I actually placed the order. Paul stood by the original estimate which was refreshing compared to a lot of businesses. He also spent a lot of time with me discussing the best way to install the posts and cables (which I'd never done before) and pointed me to the best places to get the stainless hardware I needed to secure the posts. I went to their facility many times to pick up material, get advice and even had them fix a couple of cable fittings that turned out to be defective - all the employees were friendly and so helpful. I still haven't quite finished my DIY'ing but Bay Area Railings helped the project turn out much better than I thought it would. Highly recommend them!!! read more

I dealt with two other rail vendors for 1.5 years and they both put me in a bad situation. Basically I gave each vendor a deposit but they never completed the project. Terrible.
