We had a great experience with NCO. Our staircase is narrow, so we wanted to avoid having a handrail on both sides of the stairs. A full 3D scan of our stairs was made, and a 3D image of a proposed solution was provided. They were able to handle a bump out in the railing where it needed to avoid the drop down ceiling in our hallway. It came out amazing and their price met the budget we were targeting! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Mike was so egregious that I feel compelled to warn others. What started as a promising project quickly devolved into a nightmare of unfair payment terms, unresponsiveness, and outright harassment. First, his payment terms are highly suspect, and I believe, illegal for California. He demanded 90% of the project cost ($15,000 out of $17,000 in my case) upfront before any installation even began. This immediately set off red flags, but he seemed professional enough and had great reviews so I agreed. Despite paying $15,000 by April 5th, his responsiveness and commitment to the schedule were appalling. I had to chase him relentlessly for updates. After multiple follow-ups, they finally showed up on April 24th (three weeks later) and only completed partial work. It took another month for the remaining work to be completed, during which time getting a response from them would take days. The absolute worst part of this experience, however, was the harassment I endured when the job was finally completed. On May 21st, I received a final invoice at 1:25 PM. That night he sent multiple text messages demanding immediate payment. The harassment escalated the following morning (May 22nd less than 24 hrs later) when he outright threatened to show up at my house and remove the cables I had already paid for. This type of aggressive and intimidating behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. read more
