I had to replace a rusted guard rail in front of a driveway. Messaged a few companies and all of them responded. Jesse responded and gave the most detailed quote. He was going to meet me at the job site on a weekend but end up rescheduling because he wasn't feeling well. However, he did go on his own later during the week and gave me a written estimate. We mainly corresponded via text and spoke a few times on the phone. When I texted him to ask how the new guard rail will look, he texted me a couple pictures of sample rails. Our driveway gate had a hinge that completely seized up, bent the metal post that the gate connects to, bent the hinge its-self, the gate wouldn't open or close (it was stuck part way) & was a nightmare to get unstuck (nobody told us we're supposed to grease the gate hinges every 6 months! Who knew??). We needed it fixed asap, as the gate is an important part of our predator deterrent system, helping keep our cute little farm critters safe. When we finally got the seized up hinge off the gate (took the weight/force of 3 dudes to get it apart), what was supposed to be at a 45 degree angle was no longer, the welds holding it to the post were fully broke off, the hole in the post where it attaches was munched - it was just a big mess. I called several gate people who can do on-site welding, some couldn't come for a month (!!), others went to voicemail & didn't call back right away (or call back at all), I was getting stressed. Luckily for us Jesse called back after about an hour, had me send him a few pictures so he could see how easy/hard it would be to repair & what he might need to bring, and after viewing the images I texted him he said he could come that afternoon and fix it (yay!). Jesse arrived a few minutes early, fixed everything up, charged us a very reasonable, fair fee & was friendly to boot! He will absolutely be our guy for any gate or other metal issues going forward! He gave us good advice on how to keep it working smoothly and pointed out where it might fail in the future but that it could be fixed by swapping to a better kind of hinge if that happens. I had to replace an exterior guard rail along the front walkway of my house, and thank goodness I found Jesse at Bayland Welding Fabrication. My old guard rail was wobbly, the gaps between the bars were much too large and very unsafe, and the paint was worn and badly chipped. I'd assumed I had to get an entirely new guard rail, but when I got several estimates from different companies, they were all well above my budget. I figured I had to shelve the whole project, until I contacted Bayland Welding Foundation. Jesse came to my house the next day for a free consultation, and he told me he could repair the existing railing and save me a lot of money. He did, and it looks amazing! For a small fraction of what other companies were quoting, Jesse removed the old guard rail, added pickets in between the big gaps, added larger posts, extended it by 7 feet with the existing design, had it sandblasted and powder coated black, and then reinstalled it. All of this work happened within one week. The new and improved guardrail looks beautiful! And it's also much safer and to code. Not only did Jesse do incredible work, but he was also great to work with. He always responded quickly to my texts and calls--and I texted and called him a lot, because the reinstallation of the guard rail had to be coordinated with a different company that was installing pavers on the walkway, so there was some back-and-forth.
