In short, Karissa was professional, timely, fun and very skilled. Karissa was amazing! I will be a repeat client and I would recommend her to all of my friends. She started off with a great consultation, checking out the tone of my skin in order to insure that she would pick the correct tone for me. She also asked a few questions about how I tan in the sun and if I have any rough spots or rashes she should be aware of. I thought this was great as a lot of spray technicians will just jump right in there treating your skin the same as anyone else. She worked quickly but was extremely thorough. She is very detail oriented and quite the perfectionist (which is EXACTLY what I want in my spray technician). The solution dried very quickly which was great. After showering the next day I absolutely loved the color of my tan. Nice and bronzey brown, no orange. There were no streaks or weird dots which I've experienced in the past from other places. The tan lasted a full week before I noticed any fading. She also did an excellent job on my feet, hands, neck and face which can sometimes be tricky. It all blended well and looked very natural. This a VERRRY late post! Sorry karissa if you read this. So I was going on a bachelorette trip to Vegas and I always wanted to try tanning since there will be a lot of pool parties that weekend. I contacted karissa online on a Saturday morning and I received a call same day to get a spray tan on Sunday. Great and easy communication. She texted me the address to the location--nice area and easy parking. When I first met Karissa easy going and she explained the process as I have never had a spray tan before. Also FYI my skin color is pale and as much as I go in the sun I do not get tanned. She recommended the Venetian spray tan and it came out awesome! Before coming into the appointment she does recommend to wear a sundress or maxi dress and the reason is so the tan does not rub off or have funky lines. All jewelry have to be taken off as well. She leaves it up to the customer whether you want to wear the disposable thong or swim suit. I went with the disposable thong and a REMINDER-- leave the thong at the place you feel comfortable. It was my first time tanning and I had the thong pulled a little too high and didn't notice until I hopped in the shower. You cannot shower for at least I think 6 hours later. I texted karissa telling her my concern that the thong line was too high and I might need a touch up and she was very understanding and said after the shower see how the color comes out and if the line was noticeable which it was and she was very accommodating seeing me the next morning for the touch up. Quick response and communication. The spray tan room was small and cozy as she is the only person and sees 1 client at a time. Very accommodating and would definitely go back and recommend others. Bay Area Tan was just what I was looking for. I wanted a quick, simple tan and a lot of the other places I researched had 5+ different packages and things and I couldn't tell what I would be paying extra for. On top of her reasonable prices the website was clear and easy to navigate unlike those of other tanning salons. After rinsing, I am so happy with my tan! I was afraid of being orange but Karissa did an amazing job. I felt comfortable and she seemed very knowledgeable on the process and products involved and it shows in the tan. No-showed on me twice in a row! I am astounded! Made an appointment online. Got several texts and email confirmations. No-show! Sent her an email and left a voicemail. She texted back to reschedule for 4 days later. Send her a text the evening before to confirm. She texted back saying yes. No show! Do not waste your time, especially if you are tanning for a special occasion. She might be good if she actually showed up, but that is kind of key to running a business. read more

I booked an apt Thursday night for a 9am mobile spray tan... at 7am I get an email that she is canceling that she saw I booked my appointment last night but her car was in the shop and that all her equipment is in there as well. Problem 1. You knew the night prior your vehicle was in the shop and she did not bother to call that night. I was on a strict time line for a wedding. I was charged twice for no services rendered. She said she would refund my money and My money was refunded and after it was i forgot about this review but got an email from her saying it was bullshit and unfair. I only wish it could have been brought to my attention with a please and kind words rather than a attack. I am sure those that receive her tans are nothing short of satisfied. I was not because of a series of unfortunate events. I just believe it could have been handled in a more business appropriate format. I change my review from 1 star to 3 for my money being returned and for her due diligence at making sure her business yelp page is as accurately portrayed as possible.
