I got my toenails done here and unfortunately my acrylic toenail broke the very next day :( For around $60, I expected a lot more from the pedicure. The polish on my toenails was also inconsistent, and my big toes ended up looking really lumpy from the acrylic and nail polish. It seemed like it may have been her first time doing acrylic on toenails since her coworker had to step in and help. Quick friendly service - we called to schedule a same day pedicure appointment. I was seated within 5 minutes of arriving and offered a water. The nail tech smiled and was sweet. The nail polishes colors were okay. I prefer more sparkly colors so I might just bring my own colors next time. The pedicure itself was great - just the regular one. Came here on a Sunday around 3:30 pm with an appointment for two pedicures. My partner and I got seated by 3:40 pm and were situated on our comfy massage chairs. I got a basic pedicure and my partner got the Deluxe. My nail technician was really kind and made sure I was comfortable. She seemed to be rushing a bit cutting my toenails and left me a small cut on my left toe. It's not bleeding but just a bit tender. I skipped the nail painting at the end since I didn't want color. My partner had a good pedicure, no complaints whatsoever. We paid in cash so we received a small discount as well. I have been looking for a place to get regular mani/pedis from (and will continue searching). I found Day Nail Bar and it looked promising, so I booked an appt online with one of the technician mentioned in many of the yelp reviews. I originally booked a gel mani/pedi as I wanted to treat myself for my upcoming birthday. After booking online a week in advance, I figured I'd get a confirmation email/text to let me know my appt was accepted. A day before my appt, I was worried about not receiving anything, so I called and double checked and then changed my appt to just a pedicure as my last manicure was still going strong. The shop confirmed my appt and the change and I looked forward to some pampering. Day Nail Bar is located in a shopping center with very tight parking. It shares the lot with a bunch of other small shops, which means parking is hard to find. Once I parked, I went inside and was greeted promptly and asked if I had an appt. I said yes and was told to sign in at the computer, which I did. Then I was told to look through the colors and find what I wanted before getting situated at one of the pedicure stations. Then I waited... and waited. Someone was about to start with me (maybe the tech I booked with?) - but was told to go and attend to someone else. Since the other person was here before me, I figured that was fine and maybe they had an appt as well. But, they also had two technicians while I had no one. Another 10-15 minutes go by and then a different tech came over and started with me. Leah (sp?) was friendly and eager to do a good job. However, I think she was relatively new as her technique was rough. I could tell that she really wanted to do a good job, but it was apparent that she was lacking in experience. She did her best with the painting, but the polish was uneven in some places and not cleaned from my cuticle bed. Before we got started, I also asked to have some flowers painted on - and she had to take a few minutes to learn how to draw them (which I appreciated) before attempting them on me. Those came out pretty well. Overall, her efforts and friendly personality were much appreciated, but I think she needs time and experience to become a technician I'd go to more often. 1 star off for the long wait time even though I made an appt and 1 more star off for not assigning the technician I originally booked with AND not letting me know the switch before she got started. I've been a consistent customer at Day Nail Bar because the quality of the work is genuinely great. The technicians are talented, detailed, and my nails always come out looking beautiful. That's the reason I keep coming back. Unfortunately, the scheduling and appointment management have become really frustrating. Almost every time I book with a specific technician, I don't actually get the person I requested. On top of that, even with an appointment, I regularly wait 30-45 minutes past my scheduled time before getting started. What should be a normal appointment turns into me being there for close to 3.5 hours. I also feel bad for the technicians because they seem overbooked and overwhelmed. The salon accepts so many walk-ins that the staff barely gets a break, and it affects the overall experience for both customers and employees. I truly want to continue supporting this business because the work itself is excellent, but I hope management improves scheduling, honors technician requests, and stops overbooking appointments. read more

The atmosphere is nice and pleasant and not too loud or busy which is what I prefer when I already have a hectic life. The technician not only ruined my experience but damaged my toe nail. How can you not even able to file properly working as an aesthetician and charge? I got a fungal infection here. I have to unfortunately update my review. Upon my second visit I got a pedicure and during that process the lady doing it really dug into my skin and yanked it out. It was very painful. Extremely go the point of holding the chair but I thought it was something that she thought needed to be done. Upon coming home, 2 days later my toe was swollen. Since then I've been to the doctor 5 times and have been on ANTI FUNGAL INFECTION medicine since my visit. I now have to see a got specialist to have my toe nail removed. I haven't wanted to write this review but being this has been almost 2 months dealing with an infection, countless doctor visits and meds I believe it's fair. Brought my daughter in to get a pedicure for her birthday on Monday. She got regular polish because allergic to gel. She often does her nails at home and they stay for months. By Wednesday, polish was off on a few nails. Sure wears shoes to school, nothing extreme is happening to her toes at this time. I called on Friday to see if we could come back in to get repainted. They said we could come in on Saturday to get repainted, which was great. They removed and repainted Saturday and yesterday at the end of the day, half of one nail was already off. I know regular polish doesn't last long, but it should last over a week, especially on toes. Not sure what products are used but a little frustrating. Please read this before deciding to come here -- this is an honest review from someone who usually supports local businesses and rarely writes negative feedback. Unfortunately, this experience was so painful and disappointing that I felt I needed to share. I've been to this nail shop twice. The first time, I left happy because the lady who helped me (Lynn) took her time with my regular gel polish. However, soon after, the polish began peeling, and my nails became extremely thin and brittle -- they broke deep into my nail bed. That should've been my first red flag about this place and their equipment/ product quality but I ignored it. For my second visit, I had a wedding coming up, so I gave them a second chance. I told the nail tech (Kim), that my nails were very thin and asked for her professional advice. She recommended builder gel, assuring me it would be best for me and no electric filing needed. I specifically mentioned that I cannot tolerate the electric file at high speed because it hurts my nails, since my nails are thin and she said it would be fine. Three weeks later, I returned to have the builder gel removed. The removal process was awful. The technician (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name) insisted the only way to remove builder gel was by "filing it down". I could not understand HOW is this the ONLY way. Now, I understand if they needed to file the shiny coat. But they are saying the "ONLY" way is filing and acetone won't do. I asked if she could please at least try to use acetone to soften it or use a gentler drill bit. She went and got Acetone, but she ignored my concerns on having such a corse drill bit. The bit she used was extremely coarse, and I repeatedly told her to be careful, especially with the middle finger since it was half removed by her by a cuticle remover to rip it off. This is immediately was a red flag already that she didn't know what she was doing. Any technical should know, you should always protect the customers natural nails. Instead of adjusting or stopping, she got visibly annoyed with me. At this point I am convinced she is NOT filing down the gel builder BUT stripping it off using the bit. Which is why I am hesitant and kept telling her to becareful or if you could find another solution to soften the builder. What got me to completely call it quits and end my service with her was when she stripped the gel builder off with the coarse bit again, but this time my entire finger jerked -- it felt like my natural nail was being ripped off. I told her to stop immediately. The manager came over, but instead of apologizing or helping, she told me acetone doesn't work and that filing down to the natural nail is "normal" and the "only" way. That is absolutely not okay. So I am to sit there, endure the pain, and let the technician strip down to my natural nail?? No customer should have to sit through that kind of pain or be dismissed when they're clearly in distress. It was careless, unprofessional, and dangerous. This experience showed me that the staff here lacks proper training, skill, and respect for clients' comfort and safety. I would never return and strongly caution others to be careful -- especially if you have thin or sensitive nails. I left with damaged, painful nails and deep regret for ever coming back. Please take this as a genuine warning from someone who tried to give this place a second chance. No amount of money or apology, will ever get me to come back. read more
