Decent Indian restaurant, ample seating space inside. Service is quick. The chicken dum biryani was tasty, chicken was well seasoned and the dish also included egg that is part of the traditional Hyderabadi biryani. Saalan could have been spicier.

I am by no means an expert on Indian cuisine, but I stumbled upon this place one fine weekday only to realize it was newly opened. Located in an unassuming shopping plaza off Parmer, you'll find plenty of food options, lots of seating, and helpful staff inside. Call me basic, but I always go for the chicken tikka masala every time I try a new restaurant and this one did not disappoint. Good flavor with the right amount of sweetness, nice consistency, and it included bell pepper along with the chicken. The lamb curry was delicious and had a nice kick with each bite. The garlic naan was perfectly crispy and they did not skimp out on the garlic. Since it was lunch time on a weekday, we also tried their lunch thali, which was vegetarian, but offered a good amount of choices. While I can't quite remember each dish, the fried lettuce and soup were the standouts. This was served with rice, roti, and crispy papadum. It's only available as a mild/medium spice, but the yogurt helps calm down the taste buds. Very filling and satisfying meal!

I great place to enjoy Hyderabadi Vegetarian Biryani. Many options in vegetarian, I like their starters too vegetarian and non vegetarian.

Just missing the fresh dosa, which is also included in the weekend breakfast spread.

Went on a weekend morning for an amazing unlimited breakfast spread! Fresh dosa, idli, poori, sambar, chutney, fruit juice, Iranian chai, oh my! A great deal at $11.99/person. Kind staff made helpful suggestions and kept the refills coming. Give this place a try!

Chicken 65 was nothing to write about. Couldnt taste any spices. Only thing I tasted was lemon. And some chicken was cold.

Food is bad, appetizers has lot of oil and greasy. Definitely not going back. Their Signature Biriyani tastes worst.

They need to keep reasonable hours or at least update them. I showed up at 2:30 for lunch and they were closed.

Great find in a little shopping center. Lots to choose from, but the garlic naan and tikka masala are my go-to.

June 7, 2025 review ---…read moreWe visited this place with our friends and got paneer Pulav, rava dosa, poori aloo. We never had Pulav here before but thought of trying because it was listed as new item. My husband was craving for poori so we got the poori aloo and ofcourse, rava dosa is one of the best here so we didn't want to miss that. We got poori pretty quick and were told that other items were coming pretty soon. Rava dosa came after in few mins but it was soggy and cold. You can tell that it's not just came out of tawa. It looked like an old order to me. I asked to call the manager and told about dissatisfaction with rava dosa. He first tried to defend, then I asked him to touch and tell and if it's fresh. He said he will get it replaced and get a fresh one coming. Ofcourse that took 15-20 mins to come. Paneer Pulav was good. Not too spicy and it came with yogurt to balance. Rice was also sticking to each other so it looked like paneer biryani to me but ofcourse very balanced spices version. My friend also ordered the veg keema Pulav but I like the paneer one more. Service can be hit or miss so I'm reducing one star but overall good quality is good. Also when I visited this back in June, they had the buy 2 Pulav at a certain price offer going on. We looked at it later and checked that out cheque had individual priced for each Pulav. Manage gave the reason as we ordered two in 15 mins gap. He later offered us the balance as courtesy but we didn't take it. I think this should have been accounted while creating the cheque in first place. Overall good place for vegetarian south Indian food.

The appetizer was served last, and it wasn't even piping hot, as if they had just made it. You only get one tiny 8-ounce plastic bottle of warm water to drink, unless you go out and grab another one out of the pack in the other room. That said, the dosa is excellent, textures and flavors on point. Onion pakoda are crave-worthy, crispy and well seasoned. The spices are bright and bold, unrestrained, and deeply satisfying. It's fantastic that so many options are vegan as is. Unfortunately, the issues with payment was the final straw. I had a coupon that seemed to completely flummox the poor guy, and while fumbling with my phone, executed the transaction with Google pay, which is not at all how I wanted to pay. He "couldn't" refund it, for some reason. It makes me so sad. Seems like a great, family-run place with excellent food. I won't be revisiting.

There was one customer waiting, and not another person. I waited about ten minutes. My son loves chicken Tikka masala, so we ordered him some. It is spicy. I'm into a moderate spice, and this is burning my lips as I type. There was no option when ordering online to determine level of spice so we weren't ready for that. Beyond the spice the chicken was tough, so even if the spice was toned down the chicken wasn't great. The tandoori chicken is nice and flavorful and tender. $17 for three drumsticks and two thighs might be a bit steep. Overall not an overwhelmingly good experience.

The restaurant is clean, well decorated and ready for your visit! The staff are super friendly. I drove home with my order and it was piping hot and spectacular. Chicken tikka is spicy, mildly sweet and so delicious. A great way to conquer allergy season! The paneer butter masala had a lot of paneer. Many other locals have tiny bits of paneer in a sea of gravy. At Tamarind you will not be disappointed! Don't miss the potato samosas... Come on Austin, let's show these guys more lunch time love!

The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the Indian music playing in the background creates a calm, authentic dining experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always happy to accommodate your preferences. I've enjoyed everything from the saag paneer, salmon, and a variety of curries to the chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Every dish has been rich, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. The butter chicken is especially smooth and comforting, while the chicken tikka masala is packed with bold, well-balanced flavor. If you're someone who loves spicy food, they don't hold back! I usually order spice level 5, and trust me--it brings the heat, so order accordingly! I need to come back and take updated photos because it's been a while, but if I still lived on the south side, this would absolutely still be one of my regular restaurants. Highly recommended!
