I spent the last year agonizing over who I was going to redo my hallway floors and stairs in a 4 story walk-up. I repeatedly met with flooring people that I felt wouldn't work to my very high standard or made suggestions that were to make their job easier, not accomplish the sophisticated look I wanted. From the moment I scheduled the in home appointment with Joan. It felt right. I received a call to confirm our appointment and I knew they would show up and respect my time. Appointment time and Phil shows up just as scheduled in a really cool retro varsity company jacket. I true professional, very polite and knowledgeable. I explained that I wanted the two layers of existing floor removed and the sub-floor repaired and leveled out. I also let him know that I despise molding where the floor and walls meet and I want the flooring cut perfectly to the edges so the gap could be closed with a small bead of caulk. THIS IS WHERE I LOST EVERY OTHER INSTALLER. Everyone else didn't want to do this type of precise install. What does Phil say? Not a problem we have a team of expert installers and this is all they do. They will receive exact instructions and it won't be a problem. Phil shows me a bunch of floors and I write down everything to do my research. Phil follows up with a text to see if I need anything else? I told him I just need some time. I spend the next two weeks figuring out what I want and never got any sales pitches or other nonsense. I knew he was just a text away if I had any questions. He just let me have my time to figure out what I want to do. I really appreciated that. When I was ready and contacted him he said I could go to the store and set it all up with Joan. I walk in to see Joan and there she was in a company branded sweatshirt, very professional and easy to talk to. We confirmed the flooring I wanted and the price I was quoted. I asked about the particulars of my install and she showed me the instructions right on the order. I left the deposit and got a call 2 weeks later everything is in, and we are ready to schedule the install. Like clockwork the installers showed up on time and got right to work. I had Alex and two twin brothers. Everyone was super nice to be around and worked really hard. Each of the 4 Days there was a substantial amount of work accomplished. I honestly couldn't be happier. I love the new floors and now I have a flooring company I can trust. This is an amazing small business that feels awesome to support and gives the attention to detail others refuse. Replace carpet: The new carpet had a bad defect in a very viewable area. The manager did compensate $200. But he first blamed me for not ordering a better carpet. This was very unfair since I called before the installation and asked if it was a good-quality carpet. I was willing to spend more. The lady in the office assured me that it was that it was installed all the time with no complaints. I could have had them tear out the whole thing, as it looked like an old carpet on day one. I was too nice of a guy and settled for too little. What gets me the most is that I got blamed for the whole thing. read more

A quick in-store visit got us a convenient at-home (and on time) visit from Phil, complete with samples that we could match against our existing flooring. He took his measurements and went over everything in detail. At no point did the visit feel rushed. On the day of the appointment, the installers were on time (they were actually parked outside a little early). The head installer was careful, polite, professional, communicative, and the crew of 3 went right to work. While we did some prep work (moved EVERYTHING except the couch, vacuumed to minimize dust, and left clear access), they took over and were finished in a few hours. At one point we noticed a slight factory defect on three planks that could only be seen from a certain angle and lighting. They quickly and without any problem corrected it before leaving. I've included photos (before and after) since a picture says almost as many words as I do. A little back story: We paid to have them remove our existing carpeting, which after 20 years of foot traffic, kids and a dog, had done its job. The Bay Carpet family were the original installers. The rug never buckled and the seams were flawless and invisible even after 20 years. Amazingly, the padding, tack-strips, and underside of the carpet looked almost new. This is a testament to the longevity of their workmanship and materials. I needed to include this info as well. read more

My experience with this business was exceptional from start to finish . I contacted them with questions to install a carpet, and they came the very next day to look at the flooring , room size and my old carpeting that needed to be removed, they then showed me rug samples and gave me an estimate which was an amazing price !! I was greeted warmly by Dan & later Joanie. Dan showed me linoleum swatches/samples. They were all current designs/styles and colors. The prices were affordable by the square foot. To my surprise, an appointment was made for someone to come, measure, and assess the floor/room within a few hours. Mark came and measured the room with technology. He explained that the condition of the floor would need to be upgraded (enhanced) so that the linoleum would last. The installers (Gustavo and Frank) came on time the NEXT DAY. They re-measured the room. Each step was explained and completed. They left the areas they worked in neat, clean and they took any extra debris/materials with them. They were very courteous and worked quietly, conscientiously & efficiently. I am very happy with the quality and professional work they did. The price was competitive for the amount of labor, materials, and linoleum together. The work quality was well worth it! About three years ago I hired Bay to carpet my bedroom. I withheld leaving a review because I wanted to see how everything held up over time. I must say that I am extremely satisfied with the product, installation and customer service. This was a complex job involving carpeting over step platforms as well as regular flooring. Unusual shapes and angles were involved. After the installation I discovered two minor problems at separate times. In both instances I was offered the option of a small partial refund and/or a redo of the portion involved. Had I left a review at the time I might have been more critical, but in hindsight I realize how much worse it all would have been if I had dealt with a less experienced company. I bought a mid-grade carpet and it is still tight and fresh looking. After the first few weeks or break in, I have never found stray carpet fibers around. read more

Phil came over to our house and was very professional. He actually showed us samples of carpet colors and gave us his honest feedback when we were trying to select the right one. I appreciate that this service was actually able to come in the very next morning to remove the old carpet and install the new one (we were on a time crunch). The whole process was very quick! This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. The carpet is of the poorest quality. The installation wasn't performed correctly so I had to have installers come back twice only to have the same problem happen again. The carpet buckles up and feels like straw. Service appointments are scheduled and installers don't show up or call to let you know they are not going to make it at the specified timeframe scheduled. when you call to complain the office personnel try to make excuses for their inferior service and pass you off to the manager the next business day. The manager obviously can't get his business together to run smoothly and make the customer satisfied. I highly recommend anyone shopping for carpet go anywhere but Bay Carpet. read more

My experience with Bay Carpet was 100% satisfactory. I called to inquire about a custom runner for my the entryway and staircase in my 2 family house. A representative came the next day to estimate the job and show me samples. Another company that I called wanted me to come to their location to look at samples and then they'd come out to estimate that job--that made no sense to me. Bay carpet made sure that the job was done correctly.....They do not charge an estimate fee when they come to measure your house which is a plus as well..Leo was my installer he did a great job with my linoleum.I just want to say you have to make sure that you request Leo. I would not recommend that Gustavo to be your installer. Gustavo is a very sweet pleasant person however his work isn't as superb as Leos work. Leo explains things step by step and shows you exactly how it has to be done. Leos work is very neat and professional.The reason why I gave the company 4 star is because of Leo. Which I asked the nice Empire gentleman am I signing my life away because I'm not gonna get to go through all this fine prints today & he replied no you're not... he was the only nice respectable person from Empire in that situation that occurred, Bay Carpeting gave me my carpet in less than 24 hrs no joke!!! Alex & Henry moved my furniture's & ripped up the old carpet in no time, they were very fast & neat, maybe they send the best or they was thinking let us hurry & get out this crazy bitch apartment or was just trying to be careful of me like they were told.. two things though behind the radiator has a bad cut but no one is seeing that & it's small one of the entrance area had two little bubble but I was told it would eventually walked down it's not really noticeable (but hopefully it walks down soon) I offered them water & my restroom & twice I was asked if I was sure, when they were finished I gave them decent tips & ready to sign the paper & bam! their it was!! no wonder they were asking if I was sure because they must've been uncomfortable coming to my apartment until I struck up a conversation with them, they must've thought "she's not that bad after all" but one understood English more than the other but "SHOUT OUT'S TO BAY CARPETING !!! I reached out to Bay Carpet due to Angie's List recommendations. Pros: I was greeted professionally over the phone and once in-store to meet with Salesman (Joe) regarding carpet samples. I was willing to pay more for flooring due to my allergy related Asthma. Cons: Joe came out to measure carpet, but was in bit of a rush because (2) of his men were on vacation at the same time. This was not my problem, but when asked I arrived at the property earlier than scheduled to accommodate. If I can do someone a favor, I try. I was told in-store that installers would arrive on assigned date between 9 am - 10 am. I even received a reminder phone call the day before confirming the same. Well, the installers arrived at 11:35 am. I know "stuff happens", but what upset me the most was that I had to call the store in order to find out why the wait. A professional office manager, would have reached out to the client with an apology for lateness. All I got was "you just have to be patient!" Not what you say to anyone who has paid-in-full. I then reached out to the Salesman several times via text, but said he off-site and to call the store (now everyone is unreachable). That's not how you keep current customers and get new ones in this economy! Yes, I know what it takes because I've been self-employed. Clearly, Bay Carpet is doing so well that it does not need any more of my business or referrals. Mind you, the installers were profusely apologetic and although hurried, did a nice job (at least for now) laying down the carpet. I treated the installers to lunch. I can get good carpet from many places, but was hoping for good customer service practices. I cannot recommend this business. read more

Found this place on the internet but should of researched them better before allowing them to waste two days of my time. I needed a piece of carpet to put down over the existing carpet in my hallway to protect the original carpet from foot traffic or staining . Basically I was asking for something like a floor mat something that could just be layer down over the existing carpet not to be glued down or fastened. Mark a very nice professional surveyor came out to take measurements and drew up a diagram of what was to be used and what the size it would be. He was neat and very professional he came up with a reasonable figure of 300.00 that we both agreed to. It was to have a piece cut and binded where it could be placed over my existing carpet to act like a floor matt was to be used. After Mark measured and we both agreed to the price of 300.00 he asked for a deposit I decided to pay him in full instead. The carpet was to be installed the next day between the hours of 10-11am. I was there from 930 am to 1100am and still no show or no call. At 11:15 I get a phone call fro a guy named Dan who said "I'm sorry we are not going to be able to install this carpet"it's not possible to bind the carpet with the angles you have". I said to Dan "ok" I don't mind if its not binded I still want the carpet anyway so I can protect my existing rug. Dan says " I'm sorry but even if you want the carpet without the binding we are gonna have to charge you 600.00 or 700.00 not 300.00 that you already paid". He told me that the Price I was given was "way too low" and that it shouldn't have been priced so low and he would have to refund my original payment. From 300 to 700? No thank you ! Not a stand up seller The company should of absorbed it and honored the price after quoting me 300 and me paying it in full. Stay Away from this place it's a Waste of Time ! read more
