We are an HOA in Dana Point, Ca. Recently, we had Bay Cities re-seal our streets. They did a great job. On time starting their work, polite workers and very approachable. They were not the lowest of our 6 bids, but the best value for money. If a company gives you a price that is much lower than the others, beware. There must be a reason for it. And read the fine print. When a company says, "to remove up to 2 inches of asphalt to fix cracks", it sound good. But, when you think about it, that could mean just an of an inch, which will allow a crack to reappear in 6 months. Our neighboring HOA did exactly that and are now regretting it. We hired Bay Cities Paving to regrade a difficult spot outside of a commercial property we own in Torrance. We've had flooding problems there for years, and another paver had failed to fix the problem before. Bay Cities did a great job and even with all the rain we've just had, no flooding! Water is now running off toward the drain, as it should. In addition to doing good work, Alan was responsive, attentive, prompt and courteous. If I could give 6 stars, I would. My project was repair of some large cracks and heaving of a sloped driveway. I got 4 estimates. BCP was in the middle as to price. BCP's estimate however was the most complete and thorough document I've ever seen for this type of thing. The estimate went over exactly what was to be done, but also went into great detail about things that might be found during the job which would require an increased cost. Alan noted that when they got into the job, the old cement and rebar was much thicker than expected and required different equipment to remove. The job was completed the next day and the final cost was exactly the estimate cost. Job crew were wonderful and I would use them again for any work in the future. I give them my highest recommendation without reservation! read more
