Bay Cities Paving completed a new parking project for a self-service laundromat in Wilmington. The quality of the parking work was very good and many of the road damages were repaired. Many customers praised the work after seeing it. We sincerely thank them for their work.

You should of seen my horrible floor before. It was like off roading. He she goes. Level as can be!!!

I must say...Bay City Paving is great! I must say I shopped around quite a bit. Alan is very informative. No pressure. Let alone came down to provide me with a free estimate in a timely matter. 1-2 days lead time, while others took over a week just to respond. We have an automotive repair shop that needed a new 2 post lift. Alan and his crew work quick with no time to spare. One day job. Got us in the following week. If not same week. Let alone are these guys great. I needed a bit more work. With no hesitation. The guys took care of me. No question asked. They went the extra mile without charging me a dime. Thanks again Alan and his crew. I am your customer for life!

When the work didn't quite turn out as we expected, Alan was extremely responsive and willing to redo a portion of it.

Our experience with DiBara Masonry was extremely disappointing…read more We initially met with Matt to review the plans for our project. He was knowledgeable, professional, and conveyed significant industry experience. We were then introduced to the sales team, who described the project as straightforward and estimated that the work could be completed within 6-8 weeks based on plans that had already been approved by the city. Instead, the project extended to approximately seven months and was marked by persistent communication issues, poor coordination among team members, inadequate project management, and a lack of consistent oversight. After the contract was signed, both Matt and our sales representative became largely unavailable. We were assigned a project manager who was unfamiliar with the approved plans and frequently required clarification on basic project details. When we raised concerns with our sales representative, we were told that project-related issues were outside his responsibility, and we were not directed to anyone else who could effectively address them. Partway through the project, the company hired a new Director of Operations who assured us that existing issues would be resolved and the project would be brought back on track. Unfortunately, communication remained inconsistent, calls and messages often went unanswered, and there were periods of multiple weeks when no work was performed on site. A significant issue throughout the project was the apparent lack of communication between departments. Sales, project managers, foremen, office staff, and accounting frequently appeared to be operating independently, resulting in repeated miscommunications, conflicting information, and a constant stream of redundant calls, texts, and emails. As a customer, it often felt as though we were responsible for relaying information between members of their own team. One (of many) examples: we scheduled a walk through prior to making our final payment. A week later the accounting team threatened to put a mechanic's lien on our house because we hadn't paid yet. Apparently no one was talking to each other within their office. The company also relied on a long succession of subcontractors. In our experience, many arrived on site without a clear understanding of the scope of work and without access to the approved plans. This led to confusion, delays, and avoidable mistakes. Most concerning were incidents that appeared to result directly from lack of oversight. Work performed by the team caused significant damage to our sewer line. On another occasion, concrete was scheduled to be poured over exposed electrical lines that had not yet been reconnected, a situation that could have created serious complications had it not been identified beforehand. We made several attempts to speak directly with Matt regarding our concerns about project quality, management, and coordination. However, we were repeatedly told that he was unavailable or booked weeks in advance, and we were never able to have a meaningful discussion about the issues affecting our project. Based on our experience, the company presented a far different level of organization and oversight during the sales process than what was ultimately delivered once construction began.

We usually do most of our own home repairs, gardening, and DIY projects. One thing we could not do…read moreourselves was replace our circa 1917 old cracked 82 feet long driveway and widen our 7' driveway approach (with a steep angle of approach designed for a model-T) to a new 12' wide City standard driveway approach with less than 8 degrees angle of approach. We would need a licensed contractor who could work within the City of Alhambra's public-right-of-way. We started calling for quotes in early April of 2014 and A.F.R. Masonry, Alex Diaz, gave us our second lowest bid out of 6 bids. Alex was the only contractor who said he would honor his bid longer than 60 days. The City of Alhambra would definitely need more than 60 days to complete the relocation of a water meter that was in the way of a new driveway approach. I liked the fact that Alex said he had his own digger (to break and haul concrete) and he was based locally in El Monte. His bid price was a definite draw (one of our highest bids from another general contractor was more than triple the amount of Alex's). So after the water meter was relocated we called Alex and he said he was available to do our job within two weeks and could complete the job in approximately 6 working days. The job is just finishing up today and I just had to write up this review. I have been waiting a long time to be able to drive into my driveway without hitting my tires on the curb face. The new no frills driveway is so much more pleasant to look at then our old cracked and patched driveway. The only thing that other homeowners might have an issue with would be that during the construction, the job-site (my yard) was left with construction materials overnight. But I am definitely fine with dealing with unsightly construction materials overnight during construction for Alex's bid price. It all gets cleaned-up in the end. The work was done on time and on budget! Alex did not complain about having to deal with the large magnolia tree roots adjacent to the driveway approach. He listened to our concerns and made sure they were addressed. The craftsmanship of the concrete work with proper forms, slopes, and finish was definitely on point. I am very happy with the job well done.
