Element recently completed a full remodel of our courtyard, and we honestly couldn't be happier with the experience or the final result. From start to finish, the team was exceptional. Andrew and Cynthia have such an eye for spatial layout and plant selection- they are such artists, guiding us through what trees, flowers, and shrubs would work in our climate and created the most beautiful space. These folks are nuts! I ordered two outdoor heaters, they charged my credit card almost $4000, then email the next day and tell me they don't really have it, the product was discontinued, and the guy starts picking an email fight after I told him I didn't appreciate the time I spent ordered something that they didn't even carry. John Klene is the guy and this is the quote directly from his email: "Your bad attitude led to my sarcasm sir! I apologized and you still felt it necessary to give it. Always be prepared to get it right back! And thankfully you are taking us off your list. We'd never want to deal with a customer like you. Thank you for feeling the need to waste more of your precious time answering John! " This is what happens trying to buy materials from a local company. Years ago we chose Element to install pavers on our patio, then later on our driveway. We were very impressed and satisfied with that work so when our back yard was turned into a minefield by guerrilla gophers, Element was a natural choice to repair the damage, install synthetic turf and pavers on our walkways. The work was done according to their submitted schedule and we're really pleased with the result. Their employees are prompt, respectful and really hardworking. Andrew did some work in our backyard--tore down a wall then put in pavers (this is back in 2010) and put gravel in the back (in 2015: my dad is doing this in increments due to money). The pavers and planters he put down look great and seem to hold up to the test of time, they look just as good as the day he put them in. Andrew comes in and will work with you to create something unique and tone down as needed to fit a budget--he also seemed willing to use existing extra material my dad had in the backyard. My dad was on a budget (retired teacher), but some of the stuff he showed us is really cool: pool waterfalls, lava rock fire pits, and distressed wood. Great work. P.S. Andrew did an awesome job at our house in 2012 installing pavers and designing our back yard in Harbor City. our pavers in Harbor City have been in tacked since then. At the end of 2018 I built a new home in Carson and he took care of redoing our entire driveway, front porch and back yard with pavers again. This time around not sure if it was lack of supervision or he hired an outside company to do the job, he's already been back three times to re-sand the pavers which are becoming loose with major separation. My husband is a calm guy, but this time he's had it with Andrew which has now informed my husband he only gives a one year warranty on a $30,000 job and he will not be responsible any further. The separations of the pavers is not normal, and it's due to the them not compacting the dirt under right or not using the right sand. Our house in Harbor City is still the same after 8 years, why would a less than 2 year job not be? The separations started 3 months after the original installation in 2018 and it just keeps getting worse. Sad that Andrew has to ruin his reputation like this. We knew him for years and not sure why he's not taking care of his business. I will post pictures later as proof. read more

These guys were recommended to me by a landscaper and a local building supply company. I called 4 times to set up an appointment. Never got a call back. Even called and let them know if they were not interested, PLEASE just tell me. I run a check on Contractor's licensing board, and see Element is suspended. Wish they would have saved me time and worry and just let me know. read more

Andrew, Albert and the team did an outstanding job on our patio. First they had to demo existing concrete and brick then replace with interlocking pavers in a very nice design. Then we had to address the waterproofing of the foundation of our split level house. They dug everything out, sealed the foundations and poured 30" of concrete to ensure no water could get near the foundation. Very professional Reasonably priced, left property in very clean condition and were most obliging at all times. I would thoroughly recommend them. read more

The folks from Element Construction replaced my aging, cracked, and dangerous asphalt parking area behind my garden office building (5 parking spaces) with all-new concrete last week. The transformation was amazing, and the quality of the work is top notch. Instead of striping the spaces with white paint, I suggested placing ribbons of red brick (to match the construction of the building). Andrew and his crew provided a first-rate result at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended! read more

In 2016 we had a downhill sloping asphalt driveway replaced with pavers. On day one of construction the water main beneath the drive was was broken by the labor tear-out crew (even though we had marked its location for them.) The crew told no one, turned off the water, and left for the weekend. The owner, Andrew Aparicio did not answer calls or messages left over the weekend either. Monday the work continued completely unsupervised. The crew re- sloped the top of the drive and cut back a bank on the uphill side. At the first rain both water and mud from the bank poured into the garage. With the re-sloped drive street water was diverted directly onto the yard and down the driveway. Complaints were answered by Andrew putting a level on the edge and saying the drive sloped just fine. There was no supervision or direction, no return of phone calls, and no responsibility for his crew's actions taken by this company's owner Andrew. read more

I heard about element through a friend that said they gave fair prices but I didn't realize how great their work looked. I met up with the owner/manger Andrew to get an estimate on a retaining wall and path that had started to fall apart. He was very friendly and understanding in terms of pricing. I showed him what I needed done and he showed me how the person who put in the retaining wall didn't know what they were doing. I was really just expecting a retaining wall and a path, but the stones that he laid for the path looked incredibly artful for something so simple. Andrew Aparicio and his crew are the bomb. After a six month search all over the South Bay I finally found an outstanding company to do my front yard concrete/paving work. At first I thought this is too good to be true, nice guys, honest, fair price and they respond to phone calls and emails immediately. Okay how can this be possible? It is! Richard Ramirez, the company engineer guy came out to give me an estimate and it was outstanding customer service from the beginning until the end. I can't say enough about the quality of workmanship and hard working crew. Talk about reliable! When they say they will be there at 8am they really mean 7:30am. My husband is very picky and is almost never satisfied, but with Element Construction he could find no fault. Our front yard looks beautiful and we are getting compliments from the whole neighborhood. These giys only use high quality matrials. I called Elements Masonry and spoke with Martha to set up an appt on March 5 2014. She gave me an appt at 10 am with Andrew for March 19. 4 days before the appt, I called twice to confirm and no reply, though I left a message to be contacted. Called day before appt and Martha said it was on Andrew's calendar. He was a no-show and there was never any cancellation from this company--very unproessional and a waste of my time. read more

Andrew and his team were great. He and his team are very honest and straightforward. He will work with you and try to keep things within your budget. They make great design recommendations but more importantly will listen to you and really try and figure out what you want the end result to look like. Their prices are very reasonable and fair, and they won't try to run up the charges with extras and hidden fees. We had him work on the hardscape and landscaping for both our front and backyards and the results are awesome. We even had them put in plants and they did a great job with that as well. 100% satisified with the work, highly recommend them. read more
