My son and I had a fantastic time playing 18 holes at Bay Hills Golf Club. The course is challenging but fun for novice golfers and the grounds are kept up well. The price was very reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpful. I don't consider myself a golfer at all, but I had so much fun I know I'll be back. Been playing weekly with the great Al Kuwata and the boys from Smmitpointe. Bay Hills is in fine shape - better than Spring Valley (in my opinion). My game was really starting to round into shape, then I blew out my right rotator today on #9. Total bummer. Won't be playing for awhile. I have played at Bay Hills for almost 40 years. It is in the best condition ever. The only thing lacking is decent sand traps, which have always been the Achilles heal of the course. Greens and fairways are in good to very good condition. The rough length is reasonable for amateur golfers. Balls in the rough are usually easy to find. 'The clubhouse restaurant area has been greatly upgraded and offers a variety of foods and beverages. Prices are reasonable for a public course. You won't find a better course in the area for the money. read more

I have been playing Bay Hills for over a year. The course is challenging and a little longer than I expected. They recently purchased all new carts. They are a pleasure to use. Golfers need to repair divots but the fairways are cut short and even. They make a good effort to rake the bunkers. Play time is close to 4 hours. Though they have snacks in the clubhouse for purchase during the winter, when the restaurant is open they make good sandwiches and plenty to drink. My last comment is a big thank you to the manager for removing the dead trees that were scattered throughout the course. Thanks for being proactive. read more

I got out and played this course early one morning. I was bummed to find out you get charged the same whether you are walking or riding, but the course was well kept the day I played. There's no driving range which isn't a huge deal to me, but the practice greens are essentially there to help figure out speed for the day, because there are no holes to putt into. I appreciated the difficulty of the course, it wasn't unbearably hard and only has one par 5(helpful if walking). The course could do well to improve signage and markings between holes. The price will entice. Overall, Bay Hills is a decent course. It isn't overly lengthy, nor is it overly difficult. There is only one Par 5 and to be honest, on most of the Par 4's, you can get away with an iron or 3-wood off of the tee. That isn't to say that the course is a pushover. On the contrary, water comes into play on many of the holes and bunkering is consistent throughout. It is a strategic type of course, meaning you are rewarded for placing your tee shot in the correct location. Take #2 for example, it is a slight dogleg right. However, if you hit your tee shot on the right hand side of the fairway, your shot into the green will be impacted by tree limbs. If you play out to the left, even if you are longer out, you have an open shot into a pretty deep green. I definitely enjoy playing at Bay Hills when I want to work on my iron play, and the price keeps me coming back. If you sign up for their e-club, you get a variety of deals in your email box. For instance, my friends and I played 18, had a buffet lunch and could play another 18 for only $30 on a weekday. Try getting that deal closer to Baltimore. The condition of the course isn't the greatest, the tees and fairway are generally in very good shape. However, the greens burn out pretty quickly, so it can be like putting on glass in the summertime. I enjoy the course, and the deal, and will keep coming back. read more

Bay Hills Golf Club - Hole #9, back up the hill to the clubhouse - Golf Near Me - Arnold, Maryland

I''d never been here before, but since I was tagging along with a few other guys, I just went wherever........... Let's start out with the price. It was $60 to play 18 holes with a cart. That's more than most courses I play at' so I was expecting a nice course. I was fairly disappointed. Turns out that the course was all tore up. They had recently aerated the (back 9) greens' so they were covered with sand. I'm not sure if they had done the front but the back was rough. Additionally' many of the greens had a Crapton of ball marks that nobody bothered to fix. I mean there were some greens that were covered by them. Also' many greens had those little half dollar weeds growing on them a bit out of control. Overall' the greens were pretty crappy. There were also areas on some of the fairways, that were rough that were pretty deep. More attention to even cutting around the course can go a long way. I didn't really see any sandtraps' but I saw a bunch of clay. The bunkers were pretty junky as well. I sure hope they can get them nice again. I can see how it would be a really nice course with that layout, but the upkeep sad right now. Many holes had flag pins that were less than a flagstick from the edge of the greens' which is just a chump move. Let's have some decent flag positions out there, shall we... I guess my biggest issue is that they know the course is pretty crappy out there, yet the didn't notify anyone and still charged full price. Chump move there. If I knew it was in that condition, I would have gone elsewhere to play. read more

Had a nice day on the links at Bay Hill over the July 4th weekend. We were paired up with a great group and enjoyed the course which isn't all that challenging and is well maintained. Fairways and greens were in good shape and id definitely play here again. Starter was a bit mixed up as we had a number of groups go in front of us that had later times but it wasn't a big deal. The hubby and I just moved to the area, and this is one of our early finds. This will definitely be a frequent return destination. Each hole was unique and interesting with minimal housing, a surprise for the location. Conditions weren't perfect, but you know it's not going to be too bad when it's managed by Arnold Palmer. And I have to say, best hot dog I've had in quite a while. The 19th hole is not appealing aesthetically, but the food is really good, and really cheap. Full breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, coffee) for $4.95 I think was the offer on the menu. read more

Such a poorly managed place. There is no Marshall to check pace or let people off. They book infinite tee times back to back. They let people play in groups of 6 and slow the pace down to 30 minutes a hole. They are also getting rid of 9 holes (what?). And lastly, the greens are terrible, divots everywhere. I played at Bay Hills on Memorial Day and the course was fun and in pretty good shape. The green complexes are good and can be a little tricky. The bunkers have good sand in them, worth mentioning because so many courses don't. This isn't an overly long course, but it will challenge every aspect of your game. Now that I've been around it once, I can't wait to play it again. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly as well. I initially got a cart that was under-powered, and it was no problem to swap it out after 9 holes to get a better one; my understanding is that they're getting a new fleet of carts in July 2021. read more

This course has improved dramatically over the past 2 years. The grounds crew knows what they're doing. Not sure who's head groundskeeper right now, but he and the staff deserve a massive raise. For as much traffic as it gets, it's in incredible shape. They clearly must fix ball marks, the greens roll very well, and it's a fraction of the cost of other courses like Renditions, which is always in terrible shape. The course layout was always solid here and now the conditions have caught up. Can't say enough positive things about Bay Hills. read more

The greens were good, but I would expect that in June after 8 inches of rain in a week. Tee boxes were in pretty poor shape. Fairways were ok. Play is SLOW. 5:30 round midday midweek is unacceptable. They should not use 7 minute spacings.... I doubt I'll be back. read more

Overall 3 out of 5 but it is better in some areas and worse in some. The price is always a 5/5 for me. Even on holidays I don't think I have ever payed more than $55, and in non-winter months the greens fees include 2 beers and a hot dog! Can't beat it. The layout is a 4 - IMO very nice looking layout and peaceful given the surrounding area and limited available land. Backups at the tee boxes can be a big problem on weekends though. Staff is a 4. Pretty laid back and friendly when they're not too busy. Fairway conditions are a 3 - they're usually not hacked up, with only normal issues like occasional standing water, thin spots, etc. The greens are a 3. Some holes are bad like #3 and some are actually quite nice. What keeps me from giving a higher rating is the fairway grass type. I think it is Augustine but I'm not sure. Anyway, even in the best conditions it is like hitting off astroturf and you have to adjust for that. It's tough to take a divot from and that takes away from the feel of a good shot. The grass is also a little lighter in color than most courses, but it greens up nicely in the spring. Unfortunately there is no practice range, the closest one is a 10 minute drive, so that's a drawback too. There are a few options in the price range and surrounding area of Bay Hills, but Bay Hills beats them by a long shot. To get a better playing experience you will have to travel a ways and pay quite a bit more. Overall a nice place to spend an afternoon. read more

I was told about this course from some local guys. Course is torn up and the cart paths and rough are not well maintained. Price was good, but when we golfed, the course was backed up and the Marshall seemed more interested in drinking beer from the cart gal. Bring water, since there were only about 2 water stations on course and they were empty. Told golf marshall no water on course and his response was, "yeah, get right on that as he drove away with his Coors Light". Thats fine, you wont get my business. Guy just blew it. There are complaints the course is slow. That's because they overload it so heavily. Our foursome was told to tee off ten minutes early and then they scolded us for not keeping up - in their terms that means waiting at each tee. Just for the record, our group played nine holes in two hours. The course is actually pretty good, too bad they spoil it with crowding. read more

I played there today and it took 3:10 to play the front 9, I have never seen a place more unorganized in my life, it was soooooo over booked it was not even funny! TWICE a Ranger came past us, the group in front was hitting 2-3 tee shots each, we said something and they did nothing at all, well that was the first and last time I will EVER play that place again!!!! I only gave them one star because I had to, management should be embarrassed!!! read more

I have been playing at Bay Hills for 30 plus years, with all the rounds that are played here it amazes me how great the fairways and greens are. Playing 6000 yards from the second set of tees and only having one par five makes this course a challenge. It has rolling hills on the back nine and a strong finishing par three over water. The price to play is fair and they have a good restaurant in the club house. Go and play it and you will return. read more

Layout: Overall, very interesting and enjoyable. Lots of creativity went into the design and it's nice that many of the holes are isolated from others. Some really nice longer par 3's and a couple of terrific short and tricky par 4's with small greens and only one Par 5 (the 10th hole, I think). The layout is parkland style: treed, hilly and tight. Although a shorter course, it plays longer because most longer players will opt for 3 woods, rescues, or even mid-irons off the tees. Conditioning: Fair. Greens OK, but the fairways spotty in parts, with some fairways damp and others bone-dry. Bunkers need more sand and better drainage. With a million dollar overhaul, the course would be a local classic. Difficulty: Average. Played the middle backs and would like to play again from tips, although on most holes the difference in length is negligible. Value: Great value. Worth playing if you are in the Balt-Wash area. read more

The course has a nice layout and fairly well maintained fairways. However the day my foursome played they had aerated the greens that week. The golf course should have the courtesy to post their aeration schedule on their web site so the golfer can decide if he wants to golf on a course that has a beach for greens. Not only that but they charged full price for greens fees. It will be a while if i ever return to this course. Its too bad that their greed for income exceeds putting forth a quality golf expereince. read more
