Darien refined my previous owl tattoo by enhancing the owl, evergreen trees and adding a freehand river with rocks, a moon, branches and then completed the half-sleeve with a striking black wolf head. Darian's talent for creating realistic tattoos is truly remarkable. His keen attention to detail ensures that each piece he crafts is not only visually stunning but also deeply personal and meaningful. What sets Darian apart is his incredible demeanor and professionalism. From the moment you enter his studio, it's evident that he approaches his craft with both passion and precision. I got my tattoo October of last year by Jason Bernadino and when I say it's been a rough year it's been a rough year. Anyways, this whole time i've communicated this to my artist and I had every intention of finishing my design- mind you this is whole arm piece we're talking about - shoulder to wrist. I'm not one to just jump and book things without knowing I can't tip my artist properly, but Jason has been so quick to tell me more than once he was going to put my up for grabs if I didn't book my next appointment so I did! First red flag. HE IS CLEARLY DESPERATE and a BRAND NEW tattoo artist with zero clientele. A month later I found out I'm pregnant and instead of him being patient and accommodating he says he's going to put my design up for grabs. Wow. His words "It's been two years. If saving up for $ wasn't doable before a baby, it definitely won't be after a baby" I'm literally appalled. I could care less about losing my $100 non-refundable down payment but to give another cent to this man? Hell no. He also went over a PREVIOUS tattoo of mine and now i have to figure out what to do with it.

If you're looking for a professionally run shop with huge talent this is the spot. The moment you walk in you are greeted warmly and taken care of. The space is super clean and has some amazing artists who are all concentrated on putting out high quality art. I had four sessions with Ivan Aleman to tattoo a half sleeve. He was an excellent communicator through the entire process, and made very effective use of every minute I was there. This was a big piece to have done and I thought his design was ambitious... but he exceeded all of my expectations and the final result came out even better than the reference he created. He took the time to do it right, and continued to give me advice during the healing process. He even bought my wife and I coffees one morning as we showed up! This place is the definition of Full-service.

I had a wonderful experience with Mirtha. This was my first tattoo and she was very open about everything. Just what is better and what will last and look pretty in the LONG run mainly. I loved her and definitely want to come back again. Place is clean and the atmosphere is great!

Phenomenal experience at Bay ink every time I decide to get new work done. I recently got some new pieces done by Darien, and I'm happy with how they came out.

10/10-An Amazing Experience at Prospect Ink…read more Sometimes things just seem to happen for a reason, and that's exactly how I ended up at Prospect Ink in La Jolla. About six months ago, I happened to watch a YouTube video featuring Amagansett Press, and Monica from Prospect Ink was indirectly part of the interaction. I remember being really impressed by Monica's professionalism and the way she handled the situation. I also remember the incredible views from the tattoo shop and thought it looked like such a unique place. At the time, I never imagined I would actually end up there. Fast-forward to our San Diego vacation this past week. My wife and I were having dinner at Duke's in La Jolla when I looked over toward the building next door and thought, that looks familiar. Then it clicked, it was Prospect Ink, the tattoo shop I had seen in that YouTube video months earlier! It was such a random and unexpected coincidence that we were on vacation, having dinner right next door to a place I had remembered from that video. I had already been thinking about getting a simple tattoo featuring our daughters' initials and birth years, and suddenly Prospect Ink seemed like the perfect place to do it. Honestly, it felt a little serendipitous. Because we were on vacation and had a pretty tight schedule, I called the shop to see what their availability was. Monica was fantastic from that very first phone call. She went over the options with me and was incredibly accommodating in trying to find a time for the next day that would work with our schedule. Later that evening, after dinner, we decided to stop into the shop to meet Monica and check the place out. Monica was just as warm and welcoming in person as she had been on the phone. In fact, she offered to have one of the artists stay late and do my tattoo that same evening instead of waiting until the next day. She introduced us to Samara, who ended up being my tattoo artist, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Samara took the time to make sure everything was exactly what I wanted, the size, placement, and color of the ink. She was patient, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable with every detail before getting started. The tattoo turned out exactly how I wanted it. It's a simple tattoo, but it has a lot of meaning to me because it represents our two daughters and their birth years. Having Samara take the time and care to get every detail right made the experience even more special. The shop itself is incredible. It's modern, beautiful, exceptionally clean, and has a great atmosphere. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. And the patio balcony overlooking La Jolla Cove and the Pacific Ocean is spectacular. What an amazing view to have from a tattoo studio! From the unexpected way I discovered Prospect Ink, to Monica's incredible help in making the appointment happen, to Samara's amazing work, the entire experience was a 10/10 from start to finish. I honestly can't say enough good things about Monica, Samara, and everyone at Prospect Ink. We're so glad that little coincidence led us through their doors. What a great memory of our vacation in La Jolla. I would highly recommend Prospect Ink to anyone looking for a welcoming, professional, and talented tattoo studio.

They were only in town for a couple of days and Brandon was very flexible with scheduling and accomadating both of them. His set-up was incredibly clean and he was very patient and kind to my sister who was scared of needles. He took the time to explain the process, make sure they were both comfortable, and paused before continuing to ensure they were okay. He was also honest about placement and recommendations for sizing so that the tattoo would heal the best and not fade excessively fast. We took a while for 2 fairly small tattoos due to conversation and changing our minds about placement, but he never rushed us and made the entire process the best it could've been. Overall, Brandon was professional, patient, and geniunely caring toward his clients. The line work was clean and well done, and the tattoos came out exactly as discussed. 10/10 would recommend especially if you're a newbie to tattoos. Thank you!
