Went on a sunset sail August 2020, goal to capture amazing photos. The perfect shot required moving across the deck; had been moving about freely till something was spilled on deck. Slid, fell, wrenched leg under a bench. The young worker was attentive. As I stood up to disembark realized I had an injury unlike any sports injury I ever experienced. I literally limped off the boat and slowly made it up the gangplank. No concern from the Captain, who watched me limp off the boat and up the ramp without saying a word or offering assistance. I had waited to go last to not show anyone else down. Urgent care the next day when the pain hadn't lessened. Turns out I fractured the top of my fibula and had to go home mid vacation and spend 6 weeks in a brace. I emailed to tell about the accident, thought they should know. Be clear, I neither intended nor took any legal action despite out of pocket costs approaching $1000. Would have been nice if someone had responded. read more

When it is safe to do so, they allow and promote us to roam about the boat and take in our surroundings. They're very punctual about boarding and docking which is greatly appreciated for those trying to make the most of their time in Ptown. Can't go wrong with going on any of their cruises. Magical evening with Captain Bob and crew aboard the BLII. Probably our 10th trip over the years. First trip without a full sunset and it was still a remarkable experience. The ocean was the roughest we had during all of our visits. Exhilarating! It's bring your own everything! People literally packed entire picnics. The trip takes a tad under 2 hours. Obviously, be smart and look at the weather before booking. Also, bring a jacket (even in July) and wear comfortable shoes (definitely no heels). We saw a whale and seals on our trip last night! Take the family and enjoy the stunning scenery. Do some homework on the area so you can identify the key landmarks as you venture out of ptown harbor. It's a sailboat trip...outside of the rules/regulations you're not getting any info on what you're seeing. Huge opportunity for the business. Some things to consider as you venture out.... The Pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact in Ptown harbor (you could be passing the very spot as they landed here FIRST). Longpoint (tip of cape with lighthouse) was a village in the early-mid 19th century, with homes, a school, church and many businesses. Cue up the Jaws movie soundtrack...the great whites are booming! Yes, because of the exploding seal population, great white sharks have returned to the water around ptown. Many are tagged and have even ventured into the harbor! If your looking for a nice quiet somewhat romantic thing to do while in the chaos of p-town then this is for you. Bring a nice cooler with your favorite beverage and a picnic lunch or snack. It's very relaxing when the captin and crew cut the engine just outside the harbor and hoist the four sails to the heavens. As we sailed towards the sand doon's of Truro the captin gladly explained where were in the bay to familiarize us with the land. Very beautiful views of the shore and bay. Captin and crew very friendly and professional. This in my opinion is the best deal in town. Happy sailing!! read more

This is one of the "must do's" when in Ptown. Its a fun and relaxing way to get out of the hot crowded beaches and out onto the cool water. We went on the morning cruise - only 6 others had purchased tickets ($28) so it was like a private cruise. 2 hours to sail down to Truro and back. Capt Bob is great, and a fascinating story teller. I've been on this a couple of times now. It's just so nice and relaxing. Capt Bob is a very nice and humorous person. The crew is also as nice, feel free to chat up any of them. I make it a necessity now when I'm in P-Town to try to get out on it. At the time of sail the last time my 4 person party was the only ones booked and they informed me they would take us out anyways, there ended up being 4 other people. I know just taking 8 ppl out on a 40 passenger boat is not very profitable so I give them huge kudos for being more concerned about their customers being happy over the almighty dollar. Here's a few pointers.. You can bring on board food/drink and/or alcohol. I take a cooler with me with frosty ones (yes there's a head for us beer drinkers lol.) They sell chips and water on board for like $1.00 each, not bad seeing they have you captive and could jack prices up hehehe. Check the weather forecast, They cancel if winds are sustained 25 mph or more. This has happened to me, but they did call the prior night and informed me which was appreciated. Have a bit of cash on hand. You'll want to tip them because they are so pleasant. Once the sails are set and ropes stowed away,They will give you permission to move about anywhere on the schooner. Enjoy. PS... If you are wondering how long the schooner is (I couldn't find out online anywhere and had to ask Cpt Bob) it's 73 feet. read more

We had a lovely 2 hour sail on a HOT late August day on the Bay Lady 2 (a Schooner in the true sense - jib and all) from Provincetown Harbor. It cost $22 each for adults and $12 for our 5 year old. Water and Chips are available on board for $1 each. The captain and his wife (First mate) another mate and his 3 kids were aboard and the Captain's young son helped rig the sails as well. Conditions were ideal for a sun-filled midday sail. We enjoyed it very much, but a but more "narrative" from the crew would have been nice. We are tourists and expected more of a tour. The crew said very little to us during the sail exept for the safety briefing and when it was ok to stand up and move about. Meanwhile our 5 year old scrambled right to the front and with the wind in her face and her hair felt truly like "King of the World" - or in her case Princess. BRING A HAT and SPF 1 Million. A great cruise. We went in afternoon and boat was not full so we could move around a lot. They let you go all around the boat and crew and captain are helpful and friendly. The price is right. On top of that they stress you are free to bring your own refreshments of any kink. But if you don"t, they have snacks and drinks for $1 each - a convenience rather than a profit center. Visiting Ptown it makes a lot of sense to get out in the bay and this is an ideal way to do it. read more

Perfect evening with the Super Moon on the Bay Lady II! $33 per person (adults) and you can BYOB and food. Beautiful schooner and great captain and mates. I wouldn't recommend the sunset cruise for small children only because the waves can be a bit much and the atmosphere leans toward a good time :) You won't be disappointed! read more

I took this sunset cruise with my fiancé and we had very different experiences and opinions of it. Pros: My fiancé absolutely loved the cruise. The sunset was gorgeous and it was awesome seeing it from the water. The cruise was BYOB and people brought tons of food (including pizza and cake!) and drinks (including wine and beer). You could walk around the boat, which afforded many different views of the water and sailboat. Cons: I was completely miserably seasick. I have been on many boats before (though not a sailboat on the ocean) and have never experienced seasickness before, but found myself completely nauseous and dying for it to be over. A few other people on the boat were also sick and got sick (the water was rough that day and it was very windy). If you are going to take this excursion, I recommend taking seasickness medication a few hours before. Also, I should mention that the crew was not very friendly--the captain was basically speaking a different language and no one knew what was going on. This was not a tour by any means...you are kind of just on your own. read more
