I have contacted 3 roofers including United Roofing, James. He is the first one reply to me on the same day. The other 2, one get back to me 3 days later and one 4 days later. James gave me the estimate within 2 days while the other 2, one, a week and a half later and the other one never responded anymore. James provided the best price by far and was able to squeeze in the time to replace the roof within the insurance company timeline. The other was very expensive and cannot start until a week after the insurance timeline. The contract from United Roofing was clear and well written. James was very responsive and very polite when we were talking about the details in the contract. I like working with him, it;s is very important to me to work with contractor that likes to work with their customer. When they started the work, I was up on the roof seeing how the install the new roof, especially installing the flashing part. Very well trained and everyone has good knowledge and experience on what they are doing. Of curse, i asked them questions and provided the correct answers. I was one an electrician and had experience dealing with different contractors, so I know who is BSing me and who really know their stuffs. After they finished their excellent job on time, I had referred 3 more customers to James. Including my friend who referred James to me. I know that James had done 5 roofs, including mine, there is no problem so far and his price is the most reasonable. I highly recommended James and his crews.

With impending rain forecasted for this last week, Al and his crew came on Sat and Sunday (they normally do not work weekends) but knew that to preserve the wood on the roof and the newly installed plywood on the porch over hang... that the high quality plastic membrane had to be laid down. Eventually, Al sent crew out to fix leak in March, but wouldn't cover the damage that their work caused to interior of home. Also, at this time they realized that the gutters they installed on the upper roof were draining straight on the roof below, causing a lake on the roof. They failed to install downspouts to direct all the rain water off the entire roof Then Al wanted an additional fee to install these. I would think thar this company would honor their contract, stating a 5 year guarantee on workmanship. I wouldn't recommend using this company as they are trying to take advantage of my senior neighbors.
