Linda has completely turned my life around - from living with chronic pain to a point where I feel…read moreempowered and really able to manage my pain. When I first called A Step Above, I was having trouble w/my insurance - long story short I had to switch my PCP and my network. I found Linda so helpful during this initial process - granted, mine wasn't the norm, but she knew how to navigate the insurance process, was patient with me throughout (even when I had given up hope of receiving treatment), and went out of her way to speak to my new PCP office to get everything straightened out. During treatment, Linda gave me 1:1 care for my tennis elbow and for my lower back pain. I received cross fiction massage and ultrasound therapy for the tennis elbow/forearm pain as well as exercises. She also provided home exercises for me and I could immediately see a difference with the pain levels. All throughout, she was attentive, listened to my concerns and worked with me to make sure I was improving. Besides giving first class treatment, Linda was respectful of my time - I have a very demanding job, which makes it hard to schedule appointments. Linda worked with me to give me a late time slot; she was super responsive to my emails/texts/calls; she also made sure I could attend the re-evaluations, making me feel supported and prioritized. I totally recommend Linda and A Step Above to everyone - she is just awesome and so dedicated to her patients!

Echoing all the other reviewers (no idea why the five others were filtered out as not recommended…read moresince they all gave glowing praise of the place) in saying this is the best place for physical therapy in Waltham, hands down. The only issue is sometimes it's hard to start as a new patient since Linda only sees patient one at a time, but if you have the chance to start, I definitely recommend it!

My daughter ended up coming here when she was not having success at a different practice. A friend…read moretold us about this practice, and we could not be happier. She has a chronic problem, so there is no easy fix, but they took the time to really assess the problem and provided exercise to help. Lo and behold, I found myself in need of PT when the practice at my HMO was filled. I asked if I could go to this practice instead, and I am glad I did. They really take the time to understand the "why" of your problem. I appreciate that they do that and not just throw exercises at you. I am very pleased with my therapist, Connor, and already believe I am seeing progress after two weeks.

My provider initially knew my situation would be difficult to manage. I wish she told me then that…read moreshe wouldn't be able to help, rather than me becoming physically and emotionally invested for 3 months. Now I hear, despite all my best efforts, that I'm not making progress and PT is a waste of my time. This was very devastating news. I was trying to balance PT with recommendations from other health care providers, and it was confusing when the recommendations conflicted, especially about what I should be eating. I feel like there still could be meaningful ways to engage in PT, but now I feel like I'm defective, and it's me as the person who's the waste of time. I thought things were going okay, but the way it ended, especially so abruptly, was extremely upsetting. I'll heal on my own or find someone who can work around my other challenges.
