I needed to add some outlets to the exterior of my house, add a dimmer switch to a bedroom and also trouble shoot couple outlets in my kid's room. We had recessed lighting installed in our old home (had no recessed lighting at all before). The owner himself came to give us estimate. He was very professional and wasn't pushy at all. It took us sometime before we can schedule a installation with him (he had previous big contract works) but it was worth a wait as his installation was very clean and professional. After installation it look as if my home has recessed lights preinstalled. :) Our living room has a really high celling which took him sometime to get it done but he was very particular throughout the time. He was very punctual, professional (making sure none of other furniture gets messy) and was always on time every day. He also covered all the patches he made and applied paint on top (paint you have to provide as he wouldn't know what exact paint was on wall). My wife and I wanted to install overhead lighting in the living area of our new house before moving in. We called Bay Sun Electric and Hourmouz came over that evening to go over our options and give us a price quote. His quote was lower than another electrician we had contacted by phone and Hourmouz's quote included re-finishing the ceiling (which the other guy wouldn't even do). Hourmouz was extremely professional. He arrived right on time and installed all 5 light fixtures installed, patched and painted the holes in the ceiling he used to run the wires and cleaned everything up in less than a day. Hourmouz was able to arrive same day that I called him and started the work. I needed an electrical plug for a clothes dryer installed. It was a brand new home and the laundry was plumbed for a gas dryer only. I had been given a quote of $1050 by Maine Electric and thought that was high so I got a second estimate. Boy am I glad I did. Not only did Hourmouz quote me a price for the same exact work at 1/3 the cost but he also took care of installing a couple other outlets in the master and even still was less than $600. (Maine Electric would have charged $378 for each of the two additional outlets, bringing their total to $1800.) Hourmouz did the work in a very professional manner. He had to cut holes in the dry wall in order to run the wires and he was able to patch and paint in a way that one could never tell the wall had been cut into. That was very important to me since this was a brand new home. I was super impressed with Hourmouz and have referred him to two of my friends. Our kitchen needs new lights, also that the family room of this old house did not have any ceiling light. To up date the lighting condition of this house has been a project for us for a long time. His suggestion was good, also was the price, and he looked very sincere. So we decided to go with his proposal and did not even try to look for any others for comparisons. First, we only asked him to do the kitchen lights. We were very happy for what he has done. So we asked him to continue do the lights in our family room. I had difficulty getting a electrician to come to my home and deal with the two small projects that I had. Hourmouz came over on Friday afternoon and stayed over until 9 o'clock at night to finish the work. The first project was to replace the ballast for my kitchen fluorescent light. He had to visit the hardware store twice and eventually found a better solution by replacing the lights with new fixture. He took time to explain the rationale for his recommendation in language I could understand. The second project was to identify and repair the short in my living room chandelier. After finally ready to have some recessed lighting installed, I started my research for a local electrician who would be the right fit overall. I messaged Hourmouz as he quickly responded back and I scheduled an appt for an in-home estimate. He was very friendly and professional with a cool vibe that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Hourmouz installed recessed LED lights in our living room, office and one bedroom, he replaced all our old LED lights in the bathrooms and kitchen, and he installed a chandelier in our master bedroom. The living room has 20', sloped ceilings, which I thought would be a difficult installation, but he made it look easy! The lights look great, he aligned them perfectly, and installed them in exactly the right place on the ceiling. Hourmouz takes tremendous pride in his work, and he pays attention to all the details. For example, the installation of the recessed lights required opening the drywall to access the wiring. He made the smallest possible holes, and then patched and re-surfaced them perfectly. We had three offers to do this work, and Hourmouz was the only one who included the dry wall repair in the offer (the other two contractors refused to do it). He was also significantly less expensive than the most expensive offer, and competitive with the other.
