Love old school movie theaters & this was exactly that! With nice employees & the theater was very clean! $5 bucks Tuesday movie night & $10 bucks for popcorn, soda and a candy bar - good deal!

What a neat little gem of a theater! Wonderfully redone inside ... well at least the ceiling is what caught my eye. Hometown feeling where everyone knows your name. Our first time here. Family owned too.

    Beautiful place.

Always a treat to be able to relax in a clean environment while enjoying a movie you have waited for.

Screen and remodeled beam ceiling. Great theatre. Small - fabulous pricing - first run features. All in Morro Bay - yea!!!

The Bay Theatre has become my favorite theatre of all time. Even nudges out my previous favorite - The Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara. Great screen, great sound , comfortable seats. Back at it...Ford v Ferrari - looking forward to another great movie experience.

Modern seating and sound system yet old-fashioned wooden beams.

My better half wanted a sappy movie during our stay on the Central Coast, so why not go see one in a theater from the 1940s? So here's the lowdown: - It's the only theater in Morro. - Since it's practically dead this time of year, parking is certainly not an issue. - Only ONE movie feature shown twice a day. As of this post it's Cinderella. - The price of admission + large popcorn combined is about the typical price of admission at one of those big chains. - The popcorn is served with real butter. - The seats are surprisingly comfortable and it feels like a mix of new and old with the modern sound system and wooden beams.

This is a great small-town theater that has kept up with the times. Comfortable seats with cup-holders, a great sound system, non-gouging prices for tickets and treats, and a friendly staff. I'd go here to see a movie before any place that ends with "plex".

I've lived in MB almost 2.5yrs and this was my first experience at Bay Theatre. I was pleasantly surprised!!!!! The theatre is absolutely beautiful! Staff is friendly and inviting. Plenty of comfy seating too! Tickets are $8 per person and concession items are priced pretty good. I wasn't too fond of the popcorn as it was a bit rubbery for my liking. Next time I will opt for a Sprite and Reese's Pieces :) I can't wait to go back! I caught Sully with Tom Hanks! Great flick! Surround sound is great quality too!

I brought my 4-year-old son to see Toy Story 5. While carrying him from the concession stand, he accidentally dropped his hot dog bun onto the ground before we could even make it back to our car. When I went back inside to request a replacement bun, an employee nepotistic "grandchild" named Brian informed me that I would be charged for it again. When I questioned being charged for just a bun under the circumstances, Brian became visibly hostile. He complained that he "did not like that I expected it for free." He then stated he would issue a refund instead, explicitly saying he was doing so because he "didn't like that I expected something." This logic made absolutely no sense. I pointed out how counterproductive it was to issue a full refund just so I could immediately repurchase the item, especially while my son was crying in the car waiting for his food. Brian forced the refund through anyway and made me repurchase the item. To make matters worse, when I asked for the name of his grandfather "manager"so I could report the incident, Brian flatly refused to give it to me. This is why, sometimes family isn't the best way forward when filling critical roles within companies, especially the customer facing ones.
