The staff here is always kind, they listen to whatever car issues I have and make me feel heard. I really don't know much about cars and they've never made me feel bad for that. They've resolved some major car issues for me so now I go here for everything. I once drove right off the highway into their lot with every engine light on, and my car was diagnosed, fixed, and ready to drive again very shortly after. They even supported me through getting reimbursement from a shop that had done poor work leading to this issue. I feel that the cost is reasonable compared to what I've paid other places, I am often pleasantly surprised with the total for services. I searched Yelp looking for a reliable place to have my Toyota Sienna van's oil changed and the van inspected. I have Parkinson's and the van has been converted to accommodate a wheelchair and fitted w a ramp. I need it to stay independent. The reviews on Yelp were so positive I called and got an appointment. Allow me to say, you all were so right. This place knocked my socks off. John is so thoughtful and thorough, he doesn't make you feel like a loser if you need to have something explained, and he's a problem solver. McKenzie, the young woman working the counter, is similarly on the job, and is equally thoughtful. For example, seeing I use a wheelchair, they made it easier for me to access the office and in a way that was matter of fact and not condescending. When I needed to return the next day for an inspection sticker, McKenzie met me outside the office while still in the van, and did the back and forth on my behalf. It might seem minor but it's so nice to have someone see and act on the "little" things that make life easier to maneuver. Bottom line: Bayberry Automotive is now my go-to garage of choice. My mother was with me and was having a problem with her vehicles trunk seal. This is the best automotive repair facility with which I've ever dealt. I've been going for years. When I lived in Florida and when I've had to use somewhere else in an emergency, it was almost always a disaster or dishonest behavior. Never once here. I have gotten burned by them twice and the final time. A few months ago I could not start my car, It was trying to start but stalling before it could. I waited a few hours but the same problem occurred I had it towed to their station and when I sat in their waiting room they immediately drove it right into one of their bays. 372 dollars to install a mass air flow sensor. A friend of mine told me last night that a wire regarding probably came loose regarding the sensor which needed to be plugged in. I had another car in for an inspection about a week ago and they told me a part was broken. I told the guy I would fix it and he told me it would not have a new inspection sticker. I again told him not to worry about it. He went back into the garage area and this time told me the part was MISSING. When he said the total bill would only be 83 dollars I said to replace it. I HOPE THIS SHOP IS INVESTIGATED AND FINED OR PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. I COULD NOT go into the garage to verify what they had said was true. read more

Even though we've lived near Bayberry for over 28 years, until a few years ago we'd travel, sometimes with limping cars, an hour down the thruway to Utica/New Hartford where my ex-husband has a boyhood friend who owns an auto shop...does great work and, especially for us, provides nice prices. I tell you this because after discovering Bayberry Service Station, we don't do that anymore. My ex's friend still operates his business, but we mostly see him at weddings and other events. Point is: Bayberry is our trusted new 'friend' for all of our cars (large family) precisely because, not only does Bayberry fix my car by mid-morning, especially if I've made an appointment and dropped it off the night before, but we are confident in Bayberry's analysis of the problem, reliable/proud workmanship and absolutely correct/fair prices (many times lower than I was imagining!). Perhaps, the only chance we have of having as good of a deal (offsetting time/money/convenience) is to go an hour away to discuss a car issue with our oldest friends, but that would likely only be if we had a car issue large enough to warrant getting two opinions. read more
