I'm shocked to see that they had bay bad reviews…read more I have been going here since about 2016. Its a family owned business. I have had conversations with both the father and son, John. They we're always respectful and detailed. If they found issues while I was at home, they would call me, tell me, give me the option if I want them to fix it. My quotes always matched my bill. I tend to ask a lot of questions because that's how I learn. They took me to my car and showed me the issue. Then showed me what it SHOULD look like, no car place ever did that. I had a new found respect for them after they did that. I always do my research no matter what the situation is. That way, I know what to ask and to expect.

I took my car into be serviced about a week ago. I was told by the owner that I needed a…read moredriveshaft replacement & that it would cost me $1700 for the repair. When I asked for a breakdown of the bill, he said $200 for labor & $1500 for parts. I then told him that I would need an itemized bill for the parts. He in turn started to say that he does not do that & that I would not get the same price for parts that he does. He proceeded to turn the cost around and say it was for a warranty. I said that I did not opt in for a warranty nor was I offered the option to opt in or out for one. He then said, "Ok, you can buy the parts, and I will charge you $400 in labor." The scam is real. If you have ever or plan on ever doing business here, please make sure obtain an itemized bill for everything!

They've resolved some major car issues for me so now I go here for everything. I once drove right off the highway into their lot with every engine light on, and my car was diagnosed, fixed, and ready to drive again very shortly after. They even supported me through getting reimbursement from a shop that had done poor work leading to this issue. I feel that the cost is reasonable compared to what I've paid other places, I am often pleasantly surprised with the total for services. Call ahead and they can often tell you when the best time to come in is for the quickest service!

I have Parkinson's and the van has been converted to accommodate a wheelchair and fitted w a ramp. I need it to stay independent. The reviews on Yelp were so positive I called and got an appointment. Allow me to say, you all were so right. This place knocked my socks off. John is so thoughtful and thorough, he doesn't make you feel like a loser if you need to have something explained, and he's a problem solver. McKenzie, the young woman working the counter, is similarly on the job, and is equally thoughtful. For example, seeing I use a wheelchair, they made it easier for me to access the office and in a way that was matter of fact and not condescending. When I needed to return the next day for an inspection sticker, McKenzie met me outside the office while still in the van, and did the back and forth on my behalf. It might seem minor but it's so nice to have someone see and act on the "little" things that make life easier to maneuver. Bottom line: Bayberry Automotive is now my go-to garage of choice. They were great w my car, and w me. They have my strong endorsement.

I've been to the Cicero location twice for NYS Inspection. I think there are two good reasons to…read morepatronize VIOC for inspections. It's not a repair shop so there's less likelihood that they will try to find something extra to charge you for and you don't have to drop off your vehicle and pick it up later. With that being said I had issues both times I brought my vehicle there for inspection. The last time was this week and Erick failed my vehicle for grooves in one of my rotors that were VERY minor and also for what he claimed were rips in my wiper blades. The blades were only a year old and they are premium Bosch blades that have no material to rip. They worked fine and I'm confident he never tried them. The NYS Inpsection criteria (section 79.21) states "Inspect disc for any distortion or scoring that would impare braking system". This minor groove would do nothing but increase the braking surface. When I challenged Erick on this point, he quickly reiterated what the inspector from my last visit said. His answer was basically that VIOC has to be very strict when interpreting the inspection guidelines because they're not a repair shop so it doesn't look good if they don't fail inspections and they might get a $10,000 fine and/or lose their inspection license. I believe I fell into the category of required failures. To be completely fair, my parking brake didn't work well enough which should have been the only reason for a failed inspection. As far as service goes; we spent 3 hours waiting the first visit and then when we returned the next day we arrived before they opened and it still took 2-1/2 hours. Definitely will not patronize them again. Hope this helps someone.
