I dropped my car off on Saturday before I went to work. The person behind the desk told me that I could pick my car up on Sunday morning when they opened at 9am. Sounded great to me! So Sunday morning rolled around and I got a ride to Mavis and arrived there at 8:59, and one other person was there waiting. So I wait as well. Then it's 9:10, then 9:20, then 9:30. I called their customer service line and the person there tried to reach the manager and then the so-called, "Regional Manager." and they said they can't reach anyone. Well I can't go anywhere because my car is locked up inside and I can't leave. So I had no other choice but to keep waiting, 9:40, 9:50, still no one arrived. I called back again, and they STILL can't reach anyone to get someone here to open the door so I can pay and get my car. The clock strikes 10am and still no one from Mavis is there! I've waited outside for a literal hour! Then at 10:10am, FINALLY someone pulls in wearing a Mavis dress shirt and runs to open the door. I ask him what the hell is going on and he's even more confused than I am! He was an employee from another store that was called in on his day off and asked to come open the store. He cashes me out and gives me my car and I ask him to be compensated for the hour of my time that I spent just waiting outside and he says I will have to call the actual manager, Nate, on Monday as he doesn't have the authority to do that. Fair enough. How was the work on my car? Great! Couldn't be better! My new brakes work perfectly and I can't complain one bit about the work they did. My customer service experience? AWFUL!!! Yeah, no matter what I need in life for any of my cars, I will never come here. I will tell everyone not to come here. I'll drive on boulders like the flinstones before I ever come here. Besides the fact they completely screwed me over today, they have the rudest staff on the planet. I literally have a single day off a week and I needed my inspection. So I chose to come here for an inspection and oil change and made my appointment way in advance. So I run errands and then come here to get it done and the girl who has no customer service skills at all was like, ya we aren't doing those today. We don't have an inspector I called all my appointments today and told them. I of course didn't get a call and showed her on my phone where she just did a shrug and said she couldn't do anything. Literally no apology or care in the world. Also wanna talk about lazy? She could STILL have done my oil change. Did she say: "I'm so sorry we can't do your inspection, but we will happily do the oil change". Nope she just shrugged me off. Absolutely ridiculous man. My low air pressure sensor came on my truck, I decided to check out my tires for any punctures, leaking air etc. Welp, found the culprit. Nail in drivers rear tire. Luckily, punctured enough to still be drivable. Made an appointment at this Mavis as it is the closest to my house. I explained the situation. Appointment said wait could be up to 3 hours. Not ideal but this was urgent so I was willing. The mechanic said he can do it right in the parking lot, which they did in just a minutes. They even filled the tire once they were done. They were very busy at this point (around 12pm on a Saturday) and they still took time to fix my tire. Great service, great people. I wish I had got his name, but I will be going back. I definitely recommend these guys. 100% customer oriented regardless of how busy and chaotic they are. read more

The review is more for the business practices than the work that was done. Had new tires put on my truck...which was fine. My issue is that the price online (when I set it up) showed the total price for the tires...it just did not include the tax...which it did say was not included. At checkout they added a $27.96 fee for new valve stems..which on my 3-year old truck were probably not needed. Regardless...this is a FEE...not a TAX. If this fee is going to be added without checking with someone it should already be in the price given online for new tires....not added after the fact with the taxes. Just a nickel-and-dime tactic...plain and simple. Either add it to begin with or ask somebody first...as this is not always needed unless there is damage to the stem or a slow leak (mine were fine). Didn't see the charge until I got home. Annoying. read more

they put wheels on my 18 yr olds car. two days of a bunch of banging and wheel noise and we found out that the lug nuts on front driver side tire came off with our hands. they never tightened the lug nuts! wheel could have easily come off and my son could have been in an accident. store didnt help with the issue and I had to call corporate to speak to the regional manager! never go there again. read more

These people SAVED MY LIFE! When I tell you I was in crisis mode trying to find someone who could change my tires for me, I mean it. To give you some context, I was about to leave on a cross country road trip from New York to Arizona for the start of school the day after this experience happened, and naturally, I was fixing up all the things wrong with my car before I left so everything went smoothly. One of the things I needed was two new front tires because mine were pretty bald; a task that I didn't think would take very long....boy was I wrong. I initially took my car to Walmart because as a broke college student, I was naturally trying to get the absolute cheapest tires. Not only did they not even bring my car into the shop until an hour and a half after we dropped it off, but they could not get the tire off. They said that the lug nuts were rusted to the tire and that we would need to get them split off, which they did not do at Walmart. So we took it across the street to a different Mavis (not the one I am writing about) and they attempted to get these off, and in the process stripped the lug nuts to the point where they were no longer rusty, but silver. Not to mention it was literally smoking as they were trying to get these off. They said the lug nuts would need to be fused off, but they didn't have time to do it, so they sent us on our way. It is 7pm by this point and everywhere is closed and I am supposed to be leaving at 5:30am the next morning and my tires are still bald. So I call up THIS Mavis (on Oswego Rd) and ask if there is any way they can just attempt to get my tire off, and they say that while there is only two people working, I can come as a last resort. So they try and I doesn't come off and I am telling them how desperate I am to get this tire off, and one of them (his name is Corey) looks at me and asks how much time I have right now, and I say as much as they can give me. So they get to work fusing these lug nuts off, and being really good sports during the whole ordeal, cracking jokes and whatnot, saying they have never seen anything like this before. Corey and Brad (the other man) go back and forth, torching and then whacking the tire with a hammer, for 20 mins trying to pop this tire off and FINALLY by the grace of god it pops off. I literally jump off the ground and scream in joy. After 4 hours of trying to find someone who could get my tire off, they finally did it, AND my rim and hubcap are not completely destroyed!!!! They then obviously have to replace my old tires and whatnot and I pay, but oh my god I was just so grateful for these two men. Corey and Brad not only stayed an hour and a half after closing to help me with this grueling and tedious job, but they also had the best attitude about it the entire time! I am so so grateful that I came to this shop and met these two, because I was honestly at my whit's end as to what I was going to do. PLEASE if you ever need to go ANYWHERE for ANY tire/vehicle work, come to the Mavis on Oswego Rd. and give Corey and Brad my best. I will never go anywhere else ever again!! read more

Came in this am after ordering tires online through the company and location website. Tires were closed out and not available the rude manager Isreal refused to honor the order with the most comparable tire! When I told him I was calling corporate and the BBB he said go ahead and that he didn't care. This was my first experience with this shop after moving back to NY 3 weeks ago! I will never do business with this location again and if corporate doesn't make it right on Monday I will not use mavis again going forward either and I will have everyone I know boycott this business!!! The manager is rude and confrontational he never suggested an alternative to assist me or work with me he said if I was going to argue with him I could leave! read more

Whoever thought that a muffler shop wouldn't stock pipe clamps!! It seems things don't change over there at the Fulton mavis. Had a bad experience about three years ago and swore I wouldn't go back. Thought I'd try it again and the same same thing happened again. Gave me an estimate and told me would be 20 minutes maybe 30.it turned out to be an hour because they didn't have any clamps! the cheapest thing to stock out of all the parts there. (and smallest) it's like an oil change place not having filters and making you wait to have one delivered. idiotic if you ask me...never again read more

This is the second time I've come here. The first, they gave me a fair price on an oil change. Now, I had a clunking sound in the front. Not only did they quote me a better price than the other place I tried, but they found out that the spring wasn't the problem. It was the stabilizing link, which costs a lot less to replace. Got a set of new breaks and still hearing sound coming from brakes. Made an appointment to get snow tires put on my car and as I writing this the car still isn't ready yet. My appointment was for 10:00am and it is now i4pm. They are short handed and I can understand the delay. But when I came in to see if my. Ar was teady a woman was upset because she just drove off with 4 new tires only to find out that the lug nuts weren't tightened correctly. Of yes, another thing. When I got my brakes done and came back to get the car lug nuts torque couple of days I noticed my wheel cover was missing. They cost $124.00 to replace one. Not recommending this shop. read more
