I suffer from a sprained wrist and went to two other Urgent cares in the area, but none is even close to STATMED at Countryside Mall. Not only were they able to see me in a timely manner but they were able to do X-Rays on site (on a Sunday!) and provide a prescription to help with the pain. Thank you Rachel and Jennifer and everyone else who helped. In addition, they recommended that I see an Orthopedic doctor and gave me the name of one that took me on short notice, because I was referred by STATMED. Total Creeps. I call this place "curasouth" lipstick on a pig. Fancy Florida landscaping on the outside but a low class psychiatric lockup on the inside. Seroiusly shop around, I am local but you don't want to come here if your still well enough to do air-travel. Anyway the salesman assured me before taking my $5000 I would be provided with a low carbohydrate meal plan for my diabetes and they made a token effort by getting me a rotisery chicken and turkey for sandwiches but they insisted on storing it out of my reach then when ever I wanted anything it was a huge hassle. Then after taking that sleeping medication with the side effect of intense hunger they can't find my food. No one cared. Go to sleep starving hungry from that sleep med. Then the next morning we are supposed to have eggs and bacon, great low carb but they can't "figure out" breakfast, everything is brought in from offsite, so everyone else ate the chips, sweets and soda the ONLY snack food available at this place. Even the clients no diet restrictions nothing to eat but what you would find at a highway rest stop, sweets chips and soda. No real juice no cereal no milk. everyone I talked to got "serax" for detoxification instead of the commonly used modern stuff like ativan. Seems serax some obscure is their one size fits all med they give everyone. Anyway I had enough, finished the detox medication and decided to go home. Nothing to gain by sticking around 3 more days nothing to do, nothing to eat but sugar/carbs it was IMPOSSIBLE to follow my SIMPLE diabetic diet and trying to sleep. It was time to go home. They took my phone, wallet, blood sugar meter and insulin hostage. Forged my e signature claiming I consented to that. No way I listened and read everything. You sign stuff but cant see the screen, its not a real signature on paper. Anyway I said I don't want to argue if you won't return my property please call me a police officer and they refused. That crossed the line into criminal behavior on there part refusing to call police. That's criminal. I called family on speakerphone wile these curasouth creeps listened into both sides of conversation and told family whats going on and if they did not hear from me in 2 hours send the police. Only then they started the discharge process. This place is so so low class, a "blackout facility" psychiatric lockup. Im local, I drank myself into a corner but I still can't believe people still well enough to go to the airport and get on airplanes came to this place. Don't do it. Shop around you don't want to come here if your still well enough to go to an airport and travel. Nothing here to be worth all that travel hassle, its low low class psychiatry lockup style detoxification.

Extremely Disappointed With Billing Negligence and Lack of Accountability…read more I visited Bayside Urgent Care and clearly informed the receptionist--three times--before receiving any services that I needed to make sure my insurance would cover everything. I was assured and proceeded based on that understanding. The doctor recommended a lab test "just in case," and I followed his medical advice. At no point did anyone warn me that the lab they would send my sample to was out-of-network. A few weeks later, I received a huge bill from an outside lab that does NOT accept my insurance. I called Bayside Urgent Care immediately to understand why my labs were sent to an unauthorized office when I had explicitly stated multiple times to verify insurance coverage. The receptionist was dismissive, unhelpful, and simply told me: "You received the bill, so it's your responsibility. Talk to the lab." No concern, no accountability, no explanation. To make things worse, when my insurance agent contacted Bayside Urgent Care today, the office suddenly changed their story, claiming they had sent my labs to a different facility that does accept my insurance. Meanwhile, I continue to receive large bills from the out-of-network lab, and Bayside Urgent Care refuses to assist or correct the issue. This has been stressful, misleading, and completely avoidable had the staff simply honored my repeated requests to verify insurance coverage. Their inconsistent statements and lack of responsibility are unacceptable. I do not recommend this urgent care to anyone who values transparency, proper billing practices, or respectful customer service.

Besides my initial visit I needed to come in for an upper respiratory infection. I called late in the afternoon and the receptionist actually got me in early the next morning. The location is so relaxed and patient friendly on hand were snacks, beverages and a large screen tv. Did I mention the fireplace?? I was seen in a rather short time by Dr. Pederson who was extremely patient and attentive. He listened to me and what complaints I was feeling and he took the time to consider my thoughts before he or should I say we took as a course of action. I never felt rushed, I felt like I was heard and I was part of the process in what medical solution that was chosen. I had two other interactions regarding the refilling of prescriptions. I actually requested a prescription on a weekend online on Highland Health's app and wouldn't you know it within a few hours my prescription had been ordered at my pharmacy. I had another prescription that I called into the office and again within hours it was already ordered at the pharmacy. I feel so comfortable and satisfied in my experiences with Dr. Pederson and his friendly caring staff.

I dropped in randomly many times and it was endless reassurance my father was in great loving hands. The people there are absolutely wonderful from top to bottom. They genuinely care and try to provide the best possible experience while trying to keep things affordable for the residents. The care at Harbourwood Care is ATROCIOUS! The duty of fulfilling their responsibilities for 24…read morehour supervised medical care, administering medications, wound care, managing chronic conditions and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment...they failed! The duty to provide hygiene care, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting and laundry...they failed! My mother-in-law, Evelyn, passed away on 6/27/25 at Harbourwood Care Facility. She had balance issues which required assistance to stand. She constantly had UTI's from little to no hygiene assistance. She was often left unchanged from the night before till the afternoon. Doctor appointments were missed due to negligence arranging transportation. The food service department follows NO dietary protocols or considerations for medically necessary conditions. The doctor assigned was USELESS. When my wife called him for help, he was rude, uncaring, denied what we know to be facts, and refused to provide any additional orders or even suggestions to get Evelyn proper care. My wife and I reside in another state and flew down several times a year to visit and check on things. We flew down that week after receiving a call stating that Evelyn was not doing good and was nearing the end. Evelyn passed away without the assigned doctor ever seeing her, he signed the death certificate listing the cause as coronary. All without ever seeing her! We were there from morning til night so we know he didn't come in at all. My mother in law died from undiagnosed C-Dif. The week Evelyn died, she had diarrhea all week, with an odor so bad that the Nurse Practitioner diagnosed it immediately upon checking on her late Thursday afternoon on the 6/26/25. She ordered a sample be taken to the lab for verification immediately. She ordered antibiotics to be started immediately and ordered IV fluids to be started because she, without a doubt, knew it was C-Dif. She also told us that with proper treatment recovery was possible. Well the meds ordered were not started til much later, the IV fluids were never given and the sample ordered by the nurse Practitioner never made it to the lab. In fact, it was left on the night stand! Evelyn died the next morning. Now the second part of this story. My sister-in-law, Donna, was also a resident at Harbourwood. She was bedridden with Multiple Sclerosis, Kidney Failure, Diabetes and a previous Heart Attack. She passed away at Harbourwood on 8/9/25 six weeks after my mother in law. The doctor from Mease Countryside Hospital informed me that although he tried to bring her back, too much time elapsed. Harbourwood waited too long to call 911. The reason for this delay was the standing order; that NO ONE can authorize any patient to be sent to the emergency room without approval from the Director of Nursing! Well, it just so happens that she was off for the weekend and it would need to wait till Monday 8/11/25. The on duty Nurses wanted to send her to the hospital on Friday, 8/8/25 and when she was unresponsive on Saturday 8/9/25. She died before 911 being called. To add further frustration, her cardiologist appointment on the Tuesday 8/7/25 prior to her death was canceled by Harbourwood because Harbourwood never made her transportation arrangements. So an appointment that possibly could have detected a problem and saved her life never happened because of both negligence and incompetence! The same exact thing happened, to my MIL, her cardiologist appointment was canceled for the same reason! Coincidence? Negligence? Incompetence? The level of hygiene care is atrocious. My mother in law was never without a UTI infection. Her incontenince was a major problem with the staff. She was often left the entire day unchanged from the night before. Both my wife and I were frequent flyers in filing online complaints with ACHA, Agency for Health Care Administration. After an inspection visit things would improve for about a day or two. Then right back to the same old poor care. In fact, it was after one of their visits that my mother in law and sister in law were finally put together in the same room. A move we had been requesting for over a year. The food service was a constant complaint to ACHA and Harbourwood administration. NOTHING CHANGED. A medically tailored diet for patients is a non existent thing! My MIL needed her food cut up small - the food service people refused to do it. Refused! My SIL was most often given foods she was not supposed to have or requested not to have. No one cared. So all the care that you would want and expect from a nursing facility for your loved one, such as hygiene, nutrition, a safe caring environment and medical supervision you will not get at Harbourwood. Find another facility. If one good thing can come from two deaths in my family please let it be that you look elsewhere for your loved one.
