1st impression when we drove up was awful. We felt like we were checking into a flea bag motel. Lobby and hallways smelled absolutely terrible. Bathroom was old and fixtures were loose. No water provided by the desk clerk and no water in the vending machine. Our United flight had been cancelled and they offered us this hotel (12 miles away from O'Hare) or two other Wyndham's (20 miles away from O'Hare). So many other hotels they could have offered which are close to O'Hare and are better than 2.7 stars. If we weren't so tired after travelling all day and it was after 1:00am, we would have definitely ran for the hills. Come on Wyndham and United! You put us in a 2.7 star hotel as your restitution for cancelling our flights and then putting us on another flight that we missed our connection? This is so insulting and unacceptable. I'm a Wyndham Platinum Member and will be sending this info to Wyndham corporate. My son and sister are United Silver; the rest of our party are also United Rewards members, we have United/Chase Credit Cards, and fly United quite often as one of hubs is in Newark. I will also be letting United management know that they should not send anyone to that hotel. On the only positive note, the hotel clerk/shuttle driver were nice. read more

This hotel is spacious and close to O'Hare Airport. They also provide a shuttle that heads to the airport every 1/2 hour to pick up guests, and will drop you off at the airport with a scheduled drop off appointment. If you need to be picked up, you do first need to call them so they can tell you where to wait for the shuttle. The rooms are nice, quiet, and have a mini fridge and microwave. They also provide shampoo and shower gel in the shower. A complimentary continental breakfast is served every morning until 9:30am. There also have vending machines, but they only take cash. It was actually American Airlines who provided our stay here after our flight got delayed 'til the following day, but under normal circumstances. I would definitely stay here next time we're in Chicago. read more

Super nice staff. Recently updated room. Still an old building with tired bones. Bed was decent and pillows weren't bad. Bedding smelled fresh. You can't beat the $80 price. Parking car for the week was VERY reasonable. They don't shuttle but give a $15 credit for Lyft/Uber. Ride was $30 to the airport + credit. Can't complain for $160 for a week of parking and place to crash before we hit a morning flight. read more

This was by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. There was an odor of mist (and urine?) in the room. The room was extremely humid/ damp when we initially arrived. The bathroom floor was again damp/ felt like it had a layer of humidity on it. The pain was chipped, and the drywall had water damage surrounding the tub. Nothing looked like they put any effort into making the bathroom semi- attractive. The only reason we stayed here was because the airline paid for it. I would have left and went to another hotel if it wasn't almost 11pm after an international flight. On the plus side, the bed was neatly made and there were no stains on the sheets. read more

Save your money! This place is absolutely disgusting. Dark and dingy hallways. Horrible smell. Rude staff. Dirty room. Bathroom was so gross I refused to touch anything in it. Let me preface this by saying that I LOATHE writing negative reviews, but this is absolutely warranted. I go to check in, and there is NO ONE at front desk for 20 minutes. Guy (who was clearly high on some sort of upper) tells me that I was not there and that he "just went to the bathroom," which was an absolute lie as I went to bar across street to have a beer and the awesome African-American couple who was there before me was STILL there waiting. The guy then becomes argumentative against ALL of us for calling him out on how long we had been there. Guy then tells me that my card isn't working for incidentals despite fact that I booked online. I show him that I have FAR beyond the $100 deposit that he is asking via my banking app. Fortunately, I had some cash in my car, so I paid 100 cash. He WOULD NOT give me a receipt for the cash, so I had to take a picture of the guy. Fast forward to the next morning. I am going to check out and the older woman at the front is THE RUDEST person that I have EVER dealt with in a hotel. Simply sickening. She tells me it will be "5 minutes" for them to check my room on incidentals and it took over an hour while I am waiting to go to work. It was simply awful and I wound up being late to my assignment because of THEIR negligence. Hotel itself is not bad, but the owners/staff are truly the worst that humanity has to offer. read more

Bed bugs don't stay here my whole body has bugs bites and the person working claimed I was lying by saying I know what kind of person I am. I'm thankful I didnt open my luggage. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and our airline put us in this disgusting hotel. Extremely outdated, the smell will make you gag when you walk in from the old carpet and no one was at the front desk when entered. After we got settled into our room I had to take my dog out to go potty and when the front desk saw him, they said we had to pay $20! I do not make reviews like this, but I urge you, PLEASE if you have a fear of germs, DO NOT GO HERE. It needs to be shut down! The smell is just terrible and I can only imagine when the carpets were last shampooed. Wish I could give it a zero star... Next review will be on BBB, then the health department! read more

The public areas like the hallways and stairways need some updating but the rooms are nice and clean. I requested a late check out and they literally had someone who came and knocked on my door asking "are you going to check out at 11:50?" I said I am heading down now and he walked away checking his watch...not another word even after I told him to "have a nice day". Other than this is a very under valued place and definitely is a three star facility. read more

Not the worst place in the world. Got put here cuz foolish American Airlines can't keep their schedules right. So now we have a 10 hour layover and AA put us here to rest before heading to La Guardia. Looks like mostly travelers in here from ORD. Kinda renovated in each room. Bed is kinda comfortable I been in worse. What sucks I have a room in Central Park NYC and I'm stuck here for the night instead. Friendly workers. read more

I was comped this hotel after my flight from ORD was canceled and it served its purpose as a place to get 4hrs of sleep before heading back to the airport. If you are given the option of staying here or elsewhere and plan to be doing anything more than sleeping, find another option. The pluses are that it is relatively close to the airport (~20 min taxi) and the bed is surprisingly nice and comfortable. With that said, the rest of the room and the overall hotel are a bit grimy and fit a two star bill. A step up from a motel but still on the "sketchy" side. Fortunately there's door jams and locks. Check-in was busy around 11pm with fellow weary travelers with cancelations. I also think the fact that the key card was just an ad for Door Dash with no mention of the hotel chain speaks to the quality of the hotel. read more

They charged my card for a canceled booking thru Booking.com. I booked a room in 2019 for 2020 for a bowling tournament in area. Covid shut it down March 2020, I canceled trip. Thought all good. I saw a charge in my account for hotel Jun 17 2021, called bank, called hotel, got the run around 7X gave them 48 hrs, gave info needed no response call back, get more run around, they blocked my number. Final word: "We charge because you didn't cancel in time!" HUH? Ok. Filed as fraud! Wrong dates anyway. read more

I left a bad Airbnb in the middle of the night with my baby and traveled to Addison to the hotel next door to this one. That hotel had no one working, my phone was on 8%, I had just witnessed a shooting at my Airbnb and it took an hour to get a Lyft driver to pick me up. Thankfully I googled other nearby hotels and called the number. I told the guy my phone was about to die and all with the matter of maybe 30 seconds he got the hotel I needed on the phone, connected me, she told me to come on over she's ready for me. I show up and she quickly books me into my room for a reasonable price, is friendly and understanding. I figured the room wasn't going to be great because it was so cheap but I was wrong. It felt brand new. I never walk on hotel carpet barefoot but this was so clean. The bedding was clean. The bathroom was gorgeous with these beautiful modern slate like tiles and an extra large clean tub. There's a fridge and microwave and coffee maker. There also hot coffee in the lobby. You'll see the walkability rate isn't the best but it's literally a 5.78$ Lyft ride to Target, other grocery stores and food. I stayed during the pandemic so I used DoorDash and there are so many places to choose from even now. I highly recommend. Oh and the bed is HUGE and ridiculously comfortable. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. We made a reservation through Expedia to stay at this hotel at the last minute because of a cancelled flight on 21-May-22. The motel was disgusting in every way and we did not stay and I was only in the room five minutes to check it. The owner/manager refuses a refund. His reviews are terrible and he has a reputation for cheating people out of money. I have called him every day the last five days and left messages. He is avoiding me and will not call me back. I paid Expedia $123.72 and I want my money back. Expedia says he refuses so they can not refund me unless he agrees. He is a thief. We found a nice hotel nearby and paid twice for our stay that night because he is keeping our money. We had stayed in Chicago downtown at our favorite Hilton for a week celebrating my birthday. We checked out and were just about to leave for the airport when we were advised that the flight was cancelled and the next available flight was the next morning. There was no availability at the Hilton so we could not check back in. I checked the internet and found the Baymont By Wyndham Addison nearby at what seemed like a reasonable rate. I have stayed at Wyndham properties before and have had  positive experiences. I booked on Expedia and we headed there. This motel is not really a Baymont by Wyndham. This motel is an independent mom and pop motel with some Baymont signs. I knew we were in trouble as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The building is old and is dilapidated. It is obvious that preventative maintenance is not on the owner's agenda. He is not even making necessary repairs. This is one of those motels you see on the television show Hotel Impossible on the Travel Channel where an owner is in over his head and is only in business to make money; customer service is not a focus and he does not have passion for his job. The owner is not a hotelier, he is a hustler. I asked my fiancée to stay in the car because I was concerned about what I was going to find. The lobby is old, crowded, and dirty. Checking in took a long time and the woman at the desk seemed most interested in having my credit card so she could charge me a deposit and some other charge. I headed to the room. The breakfast/vending area was dirty and cluttered and smelled bad. The hallway smelled bad enough that I started to feel sick to my stomach. When I entered the elevator and looked up, there was an empty beer can sitting on top of the fluorescent light diffuser. The elevator was dirty and it smelled. The carpet in the hallways is stained and ancient. It wreaks. People were obviously smoking in this non-smoking hotel and I imagine the owner is fine with that because he can charge a smoking surcharge that exceeds the cost of the room. What a racket. Opening the door to the room was like opening the door in a horror movie. The room was dark and dank. The smell was as bad as the hallway. No lights were on and the curtains were closed. There was no climate control on in the room. All these things done obviously to cut costs. Furniture and bedding were old, stained, and smelly. The bathroom was appalling. The sheets and towels were old and of low quality. I would not stay in such a room and I would not dream of asking my fiancée to stay in such squalor. I told the man who I believe is the owner that I could not stay and I wanted to cancel and have a refund. Any legitimate business would immediately offer a refund in this case. The owner told me the reservation, which I had just made through Expedia an hour or so before was non-refundable. I told him I would speak with Expedia and dispute the charge on my credit card. When he told me he could move me to another room, I almost laughed. The whole place is a disaster and stinks and he thinks that simply moving me to a different room would make a difference. I have met motel managers like this before. He will say he offered me another room and I declined. This is like telling someone in prison that you can move him to a different cell and he will be more comfortable. This owner appears to be a con man and a thief. I have called the motel every day this week and left message with the woman asking for a call back from the owner. Mysteriously he is always unavailable and he has not called me back in five days. He is undoubtedly there every day, cheating unsuspecting victims out of money. The reviews are mostly terrible and it is obvious he does not care as long as he makes money. He refused Expedia's request to cancel the reservation so I will not receive my $120 back. He only received a portion of that amount. So, his integrity is worth less than $100. Despicable. We found a nice hotel a mile or two away. read more

My husband and I do a lot of road trips. Always special to find a place where management takes so much pride in their work. We had a lovely stay at The Kingwood, TX. Baymont. The room was spacious, updated and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked for some extra hangers and no sooner had I hung up the phone the hangers were at our door.
