This place is not a bad place. If there's nowhere else to stay, it's clean, but it has not aged perfectly over the years.

Oh man, what a disappointing place to stay. I hate giving low reviews when businesses are trying to get back on their feet again but this place is two-star all the way with very few exceptions. I'll start out with what's good about this place. Very friendly and efficient front desk staff. Housekeeping does the best with what they have to work with. Good water pressure in the shower. Good breakfast burritos. OK, now why it gets two stars. Very rundown rooms. Sockets were worn out by the beds, could hear children constantly running upstairs (so much so the thin walls shook), gross stains on the curtains, bloodstain on the bedspread, funky wiring behind the fridge, bathroom door wouldn't open all the way, closet sliding doors off their hinges, super slow wifi, only one small regular coffee urn for the entire hotel, some shady people staying there, and a very small breakfast area in the lobby. This place is worn out, dated, in ill repair, and dingy. We very much regretted our decision to book a room here. Never again, that's for sure.

5 flies, 2 mosquitoes, and 1 ground critter found in our room at check in - too tired / late to move rooms :(

Would have easily been a 4 star review - except for one issue. Pros: friendly staff, great central location to Mesa Verde National Park and restos / stores in town, comfy beds and big rooms, fridge / freezer / coffee maker, and good water pressure / hot water. Also hot egg, cheese, and sausage or bacon breakfast burritos - no veggie ones available - but plentiful bars, hard boiled eggs and fruit also served for takeaway breakfast, which is generous during covid times especially at this nightly rate. Has a washer/dryer on site ($2/load), though 1 washer is broken - and a big communal patio deck you can use to eat takeaway / relax. Didn't use the pool / jacuzzi but families seemed to be enjoying it. Pet friendly. Con: We had an external room, facing the rear parking lot on the ground floor. We believe the cleaning staff leaves the room door wide open while they clean which allows SO many bugs to enter the room. When we checked in, we spent 20-30 minutes swatting and killing 5 house flies, and 2 mosquitoes (that we saw) and 1 form of ground critter (pincher bug??). The next morning, we saw the housekeeping staff clean the room next to us with the cart holding the door wide open. Mentioned the issue to the front desk - they seemed to be aware, because he asked if we had an exterior facing room - but he said he would look into it.

This was a fine place. We reserved a 2-Queen room. When we came the parking seemed entirely free so not sure how much was the place occupied but the rooms were quite nice and spacious. There was a mini fridge in the room with a microwave and a small dining table. There is a small pool on the property. In the morning when we went for breakfast at 9:15 am, they had already picked away the breakfast which was supposed to end at 10:00 am. In a 2 Queen room we were 4 guys but just one set of shampoo and conditioner and just 3 towels. Again when we went to get more towels, the lady at the reception says 'I don't have towels, you can go and find housekeeping on the property.' When asked where can we find housekeeping she told us we should go to some room where we might find. So customers are left to find their amenities on their own.

It's a 100% dump..! Worst stay we had after a 6500 mile road trip..! Management is oblivious to their surroundings.

Decent stay if you're visiting Mesa Verde NP. Don't expect much here though, it's just a place to sleep and shower. Very weird how they had connecting doors to another room. We could hear their full on conversation and it was way after 11pm. This place was decently clean and had all your basics - fridge, microwave, hairdryer, etc. Lots of free parking too in the back.

Really cute old fashioned place. We got a king room and it was funny how our dated it was but we had no problem. Spacious

Whole wall painted but 1 ft strip.

We stayed in this hotel due to the closeness of the activities we had planned. We picked it because it is a wyndam family and their hotels are pretty good. Come to fimd out its more of a hotel. Our bad for not doing more research. When we got the room we entered. And it did not look like the pics bed spreads did not have color ipon enter the bathroom there was much needed repairs and some shotty repairs done.

A cozy and clean room, but not a big fan of the interior facing rooms. Surprised that the indoor pool was cold and a super disappointing carb filled breakfast (like no options for those who are anti-carb), but the internet was fast and the rate was right.

Held our breath while opening the door to the room, but room 17 was clean and well equipped with 3 double beds for our family of 5. Cable TV worked well, internet took a few minutes to connect but worked fine, and showers were hot. Other patrons were quiet and caused no disturbances. Only issue was the tub drain that did not drain, but after borrowing a plunger and attempting to gain flow, the manager gave me the room key to the room next door so we could continue our shower process. Problem solved! It is family- run establishment, which I like to support- and although dated, it was clean, convenient, and at $147, more affordable than other options in Cortez. Thanks, White Eagle!

**Family-Owned, Clean Pet-Friendly Motel That Checks All the Boxes**…read more The White Eagle Inn was a very nice stop to recharge on our way to New Mexico. Being a family-owned hotel with just three owners in 60 years, it was satisfying to support a local business run by two charismatic and enthusiastic owners that deeply care about their property rather than another hotel chain run by the "Big Six" (IHG, Choice, Wyndham, Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton). We arrived late at night, but the owners were so kind to arrange a late check-in process. Check-in time is from 3-9 so they were generous to accommodate us. The late check in was convenient and socially distant. The owner Kellie even sent ice to our freezer! Nice touch. -Location: The hotel is located right off the highway through Cortez, though a little removed from the city center. -The Hotel: White Eagle has a homey, down-to-earth yet earnest feel. It is a lovely throwback! There are 16 rooms and a nice picnic area with grill. There are 2 areas for the furbabies. Pet friendly but you absolutely need to declare your animals. Rooms are a single level motel format with quaint front desk area. -The Room: We had the triple room 17 which was very comfortable with three double beds. It is located at the end of the motel and has two chairs and a table in front. The room was clean and had retro wood paneling and traditional lamp shades. The bathroom was properly sealed and very clean. There is a table and chairs for eating as well as desk with chair. The beds are a bit springy but nice. It was so nice to have three beds for three travelers. Light fixture above window may need some dusting (mostly negligible but just wanted to point it out). Room blackouts out with ease for easy sleep. The bathroom had tile floors and the shower was very quiet. The water pressure is lower, but this is the desert! Perfectly understandable. However, the hot and cold faucet knobs took more adjusting to get the right temperature (bounced between very hot and very cold fast). They did not skimp, with tons of towels, washcloths, toilet paper, and shampoos/soap (came in individual packages) in the room which was so welcome! A/C ran consistently and the room stayed cool in the Colorado heat. Two important notes are that check out is at 10 AM and that there is no breakfast (though there is tea and coffee). Better get your early bird game on and get the worms! Check out is seamless, just put the key in a drop-off at the lobby door. The owner Mark personally sent us goodbye and gave us some great recommendations for the area. Positives: + Enthusiastic Staff + Three Beds Option + Tons of Towels + Quiet Shower + Only 16 Rooms + Easy Check In and Check Out + Great Value Neutrals: / Location Quips: - No Breakfast (understandable with COVID) - 10 AM Check In (due to COVID) - Knobs on Shower Overall White Eagle Inn was fantastic and we will definitely return when we see Mesa Verde! Excellent Value! 106 for a clean room and three beds is unbeatable.

I submitted a dispute with my credit card but I shouldn't have to. This bonehead of a manager should 1) take calls from confused (and now, angry) guests) and 2) respond to emails. So, screw you Best Western Turquoise Inn. The manager there is a jerk and the front desk woman I spoke with is incompetent. You can bet your ass we will never stay at your hotel. Furniture was dated, but it was clean. The internet password was not posted prominently and required me to read the fine print in the guide. Most hotels post the wifi password prominently and don't expect you to spend 15 minutes looking all over the room for it. Once I got that settled, the room was generally quiet and comfortable.
