This is a perfectly acceptable budget hotel. I wasn't going to be around long and all I needed was a place to sleep. Baymont Inn was here for me. Clean room. Comfortable bed. This hotel is very nice, parking is great and staff was wonderful. Breakfast is nice. It was close and convenient right on Vine Street so you could even walk down the street for food. I was there at visiting at Fort Hayes University and it was just under 10 minutes from the hotel. Give it a try you will like it. read more

A very nice hotel that's also affordable. Continuing on a road trip, I decided to stop at this Baymont based on its positive reviews and close location to I-70. I will summarize by saying that I was very satisfied by my stay here. For starters, parking is very convenient, as you can park right in front of your room. There is plenty of parking in general, but on a Tuesday night, there was still a lot of space left. The entrance and lobby area were very modern and bright, giving an impression of a higher-end hotel than one night expect, given the location and affordable rates. I was given an upgrade to a king suite based on my Wyndham Rewards status. The room was essentially two rooms side-by-side, including a hot tub, two TV/, a sofa and two kings chairs. There were even two dedicated A/C units to allow for custom climate control throughout the suite. The bed was very comfortable and the bath/shower combination was large. Overall, I had a great experience here and I highly recommend this Baymont in Hays, KS if you're traveling along I-70 and need a place to stay. read more

Literally the worst night I've ever spent in a hotel. Im traveling to WA and decided it was best to stop in the next decent size town before I only saw farm land for the next 100 miles. I chose Hays, KS and then Baymont... below was my experience: 1. Half of the lamps are missing all lightbulbs. 2. Room was full of flies. Spent the first 30 minutes in the room swatting them with my sandals. 3. Extremely loud construction less that 30 ft from my door. He could've put me in a room on the opposite side of the hotel. 4. Tub drain is clogged and results in showering with water up to your ankles. 5. Half of the channels on the tv were complete static. 6. This list was only meant to have 5... but moments ago someone started hammering in the room next to mine... it's 7:00 AM I realize this is a budget hotel, but cmon... I would've been better off sleeping in the back of my truck. It's gonna be a long day of driving with very little sleep. read more

Very comfortable and clean hotel. We checked in late and it was very quick and easy. We were able to park right outside of our room which was convenient. The room was already nice and warm when we got there. I had a very restful night. The bedding was so comfortable and the sheets felt very clean. Shower pressure was great! We had a nice stay here. Bringfido hooked me up with this very dog friendly hotel. Though showing a little age, our room was clean and comfortable. The hvac worked well and had a continuous fan option which provided white noise to quiet the road noise. I was glad I brought my pillow from home as they have 4 little square pillows, but the bed and linens were fine otherwise. The price was very good and we only paid an $8 per dog fee. There was a large dog walking area with bags provided. Breakfast was slim due to covid rules but we grabbed a banana and honeybun to go. We skipped beverages but I know that they had coffee and tea. Both were in the room too. We hit the Starbucks down the street. We only spoke to the desk staff, but he was masked, helpful and friendly. read more

Baymont Inn was convenient and comfortable stay for us in Hays. We checked in very late (after midnight) with no trouble. The girl at the front desk was as friendly and attentive as if it we were checking in during the afternoon. The gentleman at check out was friendly, too and helped with directions to where I could get some cold brew coffee. The rooms were very clean, shower was hot, beds comfortable. It looks like they've been upgrading the property in the past year. We had a device charging station on the night stand, which was handy and the microwave and fridge looked brand new. Where do I start... the "Continental breakfast" was really just a couple of muffins and oranje juice. When we requested help from the front desk no one assisted us. Our TV had no sound, we called, they said they would send maintenance... no one came. And lastly the rooms were not all that great. My friends and I were delighted to spend a night at the Baymont Inn by Wyndham in Hays, KS. It was a great midpoint between our stops in Columbia, MO and Colorado Springs, CO. Located off of Highway 70, you are surrounded by various choices of eateries and gas stations for any kind of fill up you need. If you're hungry and/or thirsty and don't feel like going past the property line, there's plenty of options for delivery or simply the vending machine which provides a great variety of snacks and drinks. The rooms were very clean, cozy and enjoyable, the beds provided a blissful slumber. Showers were very clean and invigorating. Fantastic wifi, a fine selection of local and cable channels, and ample room for parking. Enjoy the fitness center to get a great workout, the business center to handle any important emails that come your way and the free breakfast spread to energize yourself bright and early before hitting the highway again. This place is a run down dump that should be shut down. They have a billboard advertising right in front of motel. They would not authorize a refund because we refused to stay at the motel since it was not like the pictures they show. It is not even close to what the perceived it as. If you love cockroaches and other dead bugs, this is the place for you! This place is nasty. We stayed here only because we thought we were getting a divided room suite (bedroom with a divided living room area) so we could put our kids down in the living room area (pull out sofa & crib) and not have to go to bed at 7pm ourselves but this was not 2 separate rooms as we were told, however, this was the least of our worries. The place is disgusting so I'm glad we arrived late and the kids went straight to bed. There were 2 dead roaches on the bathroom floor, maybe that was the welcoming team because the girl in the office wasn't terribly welcoming, then I looked behind the bed for an outlet and oh my goodness, big mistake, tons of dead roaches and other bugs that I couldn't identify. Every piece of furniture I looked behind had lots of dead roaches and other bugs, it was awful. I didn't sleep a wink, my skin was crawling just being there. What an awful excuse for a hotel/motel. We weren't expecting anything nice but we sure weren't expecting what we got. There was also hair on the vanity and towels....not our hair. read more

We had to stay at this Baymont because it allowed pets. If you're looking for a clean hotel room, go somewhere else. We were here during the hottest nights in the summer when bugs were literally dying to get inside a cold air-conditioned room. Luckily, one of our beagles loves to find bugs, so we were able to pick up most of the dead bugs from the floor. I'll probably never be in Hays, KS again in my life, but I'll never forget our buggy hotel room. read more

The room that I had still had dog hair from the previous people who stayed there. The heat lamp fan ran all night and you could not turn it off as the switch was broken, so I closed the bathroom door to muffle the sound. The bathtub did not drain properly while I was taking a shower, so the water got over ankle deep. This motel exceeded our expectations for the price. The room is clean , with fridge and microwave. The shower and AC have been updated. Bed was comfy. Breakfast included waffle maker, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, as well as the usual hotel breakfast fare. The only drawback is that it is a drive up motel, with stairs to second floor. Staff was incredibly friendly. But the hotel itself was a little ghetto. The room was so so. We found a huge bug that was rather scary crawling around. This bothered us because we had an 8 month old baby crawling all over the floor. The laundry room was sort of cruddy - only one washer and dryer which were very old and the room was cramped and felt like you were in a dungeon. This place was inexpensive and works if you are on a tight budget. But the Ramada next door looked more appealing to us after we checked in. Pretty sucky location, with views of parking lots all around, and a loud-pitched whining sound from outside -- god knows where that comes from. The windows don't open in any of the rooms and the window units, which have either heat or cool but no fan setting, are noisy. The was the first Wyndham group hotel I've stayed in. May be the last. They ran my credit card when I check in and had me sign the voucher -- nonstandard in my experience. Also did not send a confirming email for my reservation. All in all, big-time substandard. Wi-Fi seems to be OK, I'm using it to write this caveat right now. I see what people mean about the big bugs; I saw several gigantic beetles (not cockroaches, fortunately) near the ground floor rooms. The place looks like it was built eons ago and has been rebadged a bunch of times. The owners need to either invest massively, or sell the place off to a no-name chain so that you'd know better than to stay here. The place does the Wyndham group no credit. read more

Tonight was the first of three nights booked at the Baymont while visiting my daughter in Hays. From check on through breakfast the staff has been exceptional. One note I do have is that the rooms do seem a bit cluttered with furniture, but they are very clean and beds a very comfortable for me. Driving from Anchorage, Alaska to KC, KC, sometimes you don't get the best hotel/motel service on a road trip like that and you just take what you can get no matter the expense. You're usually so tired that you'd sleep literally anywhere. The last leg of my trip, I happened to find this nice lil surprise. It was an old Motel. As my grandmother said it was an old fashioned 'double bed' and not a queen. The pillows were mushy, but not in a good way.There were spiderwebs in the bathroom and the doors were sticking. Once I had to shoulder my way out of the bathroom. Beds were very uncomfortable and I can normally sleep anywhere. The continental breakfast was very limited. It severed the purpose but, I would not stay again. read more

We were on our way to Aurora Co. and had reservations at the Baymont in Hays. We hit a coyote on I -70 and had to be towed to Hays. The hotel staff was extremely helpful in a difficult time by allowing us a late check out time, trying to help us find a rental car and offering any help we needed.
