Wild sewer cats on the lookout. Notice no-one parks near the dreaded sewer cats
    General Cornwallis M.

Sewer cat sewer cat what are they feeding you, sewer cat sewer cat its not your fault https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNXIZuIBJKs. There is a small gang of cats they live in the sewers in the parking lot that surround the hotel, check out the pictures. When we first arrived I couldn't park because the cats were on patrol and protecting their territory. At night the fear factor goes up by 10 as they hide in the shadows under the cars hissing at customers. Getting my Achilles tendon chewed up by wild sewer cats was not one of the risks I weighed when I booked this hotel, but it should have been. I told the front desk about the gang of sewer cats and they seemed well aware and content with their feline over-lords and dominion they had over the hotel's guests. The room a/c made noise but didn't cool. I booked this hotel because there was a jacuzzi tub in the room but the jets didn't even work so it was just a large tub. In the morning the breakfast concluded at 9AM, 9AM!!! Even the sewer cats were still sleeping at 9AM. While I tried to get a little container of yogurt and cereal to go the lady cleaning up the area couldn't be bothered to help or acknowledge our existence. The "infused water" had chunks of brown and black particulate, which was unappetizing. The best part of the hotel was the cookies they had on check-in and the after dinner mints at the front desk, which was our breakfast.

Gross. I stayed here last night and was pretty horrified that they can charge $150 a night for a dank, dirty room. Lobby is pristine and staff is welcoming but I could have mistaken the room for the inside of a whale's mouth the way it smelled. Just a quick list of nastiness: Blood on pillow, hairs on sheets, water stains on basin, creaking floors, dirt and food in carpet, stepped in something sticky, and for goodness sakes, Fairfield, open freakin window every once in a while. If you can't find anything cheaper, I'm sorry. I advise you pack a can of Lysol and skip the 2 week old fruit and watery eggs at the breakfast bar.

    One of many....

I am walking out of this hotel room shaking and sick to my stomach. On the surface it looks ok. The lobby was nice and smelled fresh, however the room itself was a stench of musty odors. The AC eliminated some of the odor. But here's the clincher as to why I am sickened, I killed at least 8 baby roaches on surfaces and there were 4 or 5 IN MY BED!!! I have video of them running around under my sheets. I would never EVER stay at a Fairfield Inn again, I would rather sleep in my car. I can't post without a star, so I give 1.

Not even Ok for a stop over. Staff is friendly. Rooms are ok. Nothing wonderful as may expect from a Marriott. Sofa bed is horrible. Flattened mattress and about impossible to sleep upon. Bed is not that comfortable either. Room had weird odor. Once you did a scavenger hunt for the sheets, they came complete with last users toilet paper wrapped inside. The cockroach corner was happy and busy all night. Towels are discolored and stained. Ask for soap and it's an hour wait after two calls to the front desk. Only good is that the place was actually non smoking! Breakfast bar - teens hiding from parents blocking everything and little children sneezing all over the eggs and food while serving themselves. Best to not return. Don't look under bed. It made my daughter crazy!!!!

This place is better than many Hilton Branded Hotels in my own town, San Diego, CA and even LA. The decor is very pretty and well appointed and designed. The place is very well maintained. The restaurant makes a very good steak dinner. The personal pepperoni pizza was not good, and the side salad was not good. The Old Fashioned cocktail here made by Vanessa is DELICIOUS and made right! The rooms were very clean. We did find a bed bug in the bathroom the morning after our arrival, it was alive and we put it in a ziplock bag. I figured that after we searched the room for an hour for any more of them, that this one maybe came in from a crack in the bathroom wall. We let the front desk know. We had no bedbug bites, not many itchy moments, and did not see any others after the one was found. The bedding was clean, the duvet was switched out with a clean one, and the bed was comfortable. After a trip to Walmart next door, we sprayed our room and rental car down with Zevo, a natural insect/bug repellant. This seemed to work well. We also sprayed disinfectant all over the room to reinforce. Overall, the gym, laundry facilities, room, bathroom, restaurant, and conference spaces were top notch. The staff was friendly after the first couple of says seeing us as guests. I do recommend staying here if you are staying in Hay, KS. Took a star off for finding the bed bug. I posted a photo and video of it moving.

My husband and I booked this hotel for a very quick overnight stay on our cross-country road trip,…read moreopting for it over the others nearby because it was $150/night which seemed more promising than the $89/night at the Quality Inn, for instance. This is probably a three- to four-star place for most, but our experience was closer to a two because of the room we were assigned. We ended up in Room 100, which is handicap accessible (not necessary for either of us, but it was close to midnight, so we just went in and went to bed). The handicap shower makes a huge watery mess in the bathroom, partially understandable due to its design but made worse by its fire hose of a shower head. It took all of our extra towels to sop up the water from two very hurried showers. The bed itself was fairly comfortable, and the A/C works well, but don't walk barefoot on the carpet in this room unless you've done so in a sticky movie theater and enjoyed that sensation. The main problem with this particular room is the proximity to the side exit door and the stairwell door, which is where several people were slamming doors on their way in and out of the hotel around 5 a.m. I sleep with earplugs every night and still couldn't ignore the loud slams. Again, it's mostly the room itself and its location that made for a bit of a messy and restless night. Special thanks to the A-hole who made multiple trips up and down the stairs, stomping and slamming each time without regard for nearby rooms. The free breakfast was pretty good and the staff were friendly, but if you want to have a stay above two stars and don't require handicap accommodations, I'd suggest asking for a different room if you're handed the 100 key.

Not economical for what you get: Super 8 type motel offerings at twice the price with more modern styles furnishings. What am I looking for in a hotel? 1.) comfortable 2.) clean 3.) quiet for rest 4.) great customer service 5.) ease of check in and out. 6.) nice or convenient location. After visiting... This hotel only had location going for it, and on some level the location wasn't ideal as the windows and walls were so cheaply and thinly built that it sounded almost like I was sleeping on an airport tarmac. Between the I-70 traffic and howling raging wind, and hotel cooling system it was a very loud night. I would not ever stay here again. Room was not wonderfully clean or comfortable. The bed made my hip hurt and I had to shift to get comfortable, which is not a usual hotel bed experience for me. A bath towel had some odd spot on it. A long hair in the shower. Lots of stains and poorly kept areas in the room. The staff were pleasant but management and their policies are just miserly. This hotel is Not good for a late night visit because they don't really have a late checkout. Although he was polite the night attendant/front desk person didn't disclose they don't do actual late checkouts and honor IHGs standards of late check outs. They require you to wake up at 8+am and request it with the manager. (And then came to knock really loudly at the check out time as though that request approval didn't occur. And they knocked 2 hours before and opened the door both times, which I did not appreciate.) Normal hotels just approve it upon check in and IHG members are allowed to check out as late as 2pm, upon availability, but at normal hotels it's always available til at least 1pm, if you request the night before. (And normal hotels don't usually open the door in the morning while guests are still in the room.) Anyway, we arrived super late at night and called ahead and we would have for sure selected elsewhere if we had known that's how it would be, since we didn't get 8 hrs of sleep when we have to drive on our road trip. There's another IHG hotel in town that always are so helpful and much nicer and we get 4pm check out at Marriot, so it was frustrating that the gentleman at night didn't mention that while we called to ask about the room. The desk clerk in the day time was exceptionally kind and helpful so I added a star for that.

The front desk employee at check in was very kind and friendly, and made the check in process very quick and smooth for us. The only thing I really noticed that was weird was the drywall in the room was really wavy. I booked the 2 queen bed room, I liked that there were 2 sinks in the room which is helpful when you have multiple people staying in one room trying to get ready for bed or leaving in the morning. Was just contacted today by Expedia saying my refund was not approved, even though the front desk associate assured me it would be taken care of. When I contacted the business again, they said this was an error on Expedia's end. I then contacted Expedia AGAIN. They called once more and were told the manager denied the refund. The same manager who was supposedly not there 30 minutes prior when I called myself. The front desk "checked for the manager" and then "didn't think he was there." Room had rust, a deteriorating bathtub, pubic hair and other body hair, stains on walls, flies, bad odor, air cooling wasn't very efficient, and furniture damaged by dogs (or at least I think dogs?). Bedding was dirty, towels were dirty. Dirty rooms AND bad customer service? Save yourself the time. I have filed complaints with the Health Department and Better Business Bureau.
