Hi everyone, I do reviews about ADA accessible access. I give this a one for many reasons. But to…read morestart off with there is NO ELEVATOR!! As someone who travels with someone who is in no condition to walk up stairs. The front desk after we told them that we had a wheelchair user would NOT accommodate us. Luckily we were traveling with other family and we were able to trade rooms. BUT IF YOU UNABLE TO USE STAIRS THIS PLACE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE!! Also there is not a whole lot of Handicap parking or ramps to get into this place. So be prepared to be lifting the wheelchair or other devices up to the sidewalk to even get into the hotel. When we got into the room it sounded like the shower was running. The celling above the shower was leaking water. The beds are okay not the bed for long stays. In the long run I really hope that the can look into more accommodations for low mobility. It is very disappointing that they have no way of getting upstairs. I hope to see more handicap parking as well as an elevator. Please do yourself a favor and don't come here until they are up to date with ADA ACCOMDATIONS.

The theming in the room is done so nicely, from cool themed bedding to specialty lighting throughout the room. It's just a lot of fun. The steam shower also has shower panel and two overhead shower heads, it felt incredible. Jacuzzi tub was also very nice. Everything was clean and the room smelled great. The Continental breakfast is just bagels/English muffins/pastries, cereal and a waffle maker, but it hit the spot. The coffee was tasty too. I think I saw a little basket of fresh fruit and some yogurt in the fridge too. The pool is up and running again, we dipped our toes a little but mostly enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. The steam room in the pool area is currently closed for repairs, but that was no issue for us. I'm sure they'll have it repaired by the time we come back. We enjoyed this trip so much we started planning another as soon as we got in the car lol. We can't wait to come back.

We had to leave and go get air freshener just to stand it. The hot tub only partially worked and the shower smelled like mold! There is a little coffee nook on the 2nd floor with a Keurig and coffee pods. They are VERY clear on the website that you must be able to navigate a flight of stairs for 300 numbered rooms. However, the best way to navigate to the 200 rooms is also up a very steep staircase. It's a historic building so I get it, and they have tried to provide some accessibility with a lift on the outside of the building, but if accessibility is a key concern you may want to stay elsewhere.

Rooms are nice sized, with a nostalgic feel, comfortable bed, and very clean. However had some…read moredisappointing issues. This is not a Bed and Breakfast, no breakfast voucher either - so forget anything you read otherwise - I complained about the sign that was even in the window as you walked in stating Bed and Breakfast, which they did remove the next day. Speaking of walking in - I had to push the automatic door to the lobby open (they did fix that the next day) only to find a kiosk virtual front desk (from a different town/state who knows where, that had to call about everything that required attention). After we had drove a few hours, we did get a text to warn us that the elevator was broken (so check on that before you go, because it was still broke when we left). I had booked a room specific to 2nd floor, as my wife has some trouble with stairs after hip surgery (none on first floor, and 3rd floor only has stair access). After the steep climb with luggage (We heard some poor soul struggling to get luggage up the stairs and thought he was going to have a heart attack, but he made it before I was able to get out to help). We got settled in, but before the day was over... the TV quit working. Mr. kiosk suggested the typical things (reboot etc...) that I had already tried and had to show him a picture of the screen that showed it had no connection. He said they would have someone fix the next day after treating me like I did not know anything (I worked in IT over 40 years, I can tell when a Roku cannot connect to a network). Next day, after being out all day, came in to relax - no TV still, Mr. Kiosk said we could move to another room... OK we pack up and move to a new room, and it is super cold, go to Mr. Kiosk again because we could not find a thermostat, his solution ... we move to another room that has a thermostat we can adjust on the third floor - no - we are tired we don't want to lug up another flight of stairs, we will just get out another blanket. We did get a call at that point, and I was told the thermostat is currently in another room for the whole floor, but I can go and adjust (got there and it was set to 66), so we finally was able to settle in and watch TV for the night. (They are planning on making changes to have individual controlled, but something you might want to consider). The last day was better, but not sure we will be back even though we did like the room itself. Definitely, buyer beware - ask before booking.

Although there is a newer, more expensive hotel two blocks down, it can be triple the price for the same quality experience. The staff here can be amazing. Last time I came, they had accidentally assigned me to a smoking room. When I came up to tell them, they were incredibly accommodating. So we got the super 8 which is a little out dated and the chairs in the room have stains on them which need to be steam cleaned. The staff here is super super nice. They have a mini fridge and microwave in your room and you have cable tv. What makes me give three stars is when housekeeping clean our room the bed sheets and comforter where the same they didn't changed them out and I knew this because our comforter had a cigarette burn. The good thing I had bought cheap bedding sheets and covers and pillows and I would put them on top of the bed. Then when I would leave I would unfold the bedding like we used it. I would love to give five stars but this incident I was not to happy about. It's a good place to stay but recommend buying cheap sheets to use. This super 8 is 2 minutes away from the rock group. Right outside of the hotel there's an Arby's,Burger King, Jimmy Johns. Across the street is Taco Bell, McDonald's, subway.

If this isn't you, then this hotel is not for you. True story- my 6 yr old told me that "this was not a hotel and that if it was, it was the worst" -no working pool, dysfunctional bath tub and dysfunctional wifi ‍ I was at this hotel 3d,2n. It is the following Tuesday and I think I am now ready for this review. Deep breaths. There will be tips, pros, cons, and pictures. All of it will be true- I take reviews very seriously. I use/refer to them when I do anything and go anywhere. And being that I enjoy to travel with my family and, on occasion, with just me and my husband- I think about what others may want to know before they go, so, here we go. *Tips* -Research the area!‍‍ Arcola, IL. Key words: amish, rural, farms, country, the opposite of diverse‍‍‍‍‍‍. We were in the area for an EIU Graduation but being raised in Chicagoland, Arcola was uncomfortable at times. Not unsafe but- yeah. -Think twice before scheduling with a 3rd party. We used travelocity and there was miscommunication between me, the hotel and travelocity. *Pros* -Heather was amazing! We only got to interact with her on Sunday but she was over-accommodating, a hospitality genius. I wish she had been there all weekend. Might have impacted this review. Promote Heather to managment! -within walking minutes of 24/7 gas station, Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Mexican restaurant, diner, pizza place. This was convenient. ‍ -hotel was very clean & smelled nice. -fridge in room was spacious. -only 2 floors/levels - walls are pretty thick- we had a newborn baby next door who was a crier but we could barely hear him/her -on both floors, at the end of the hall, there was an outdoor staircase balcony thing with a smoker's ash tray thing, which was convenient as hell, being a smoker. They should add a bench on the 2nd like they have on the 1st. Still a + -The beds and pillows were so amazing! Made for comfy sleep! *CONS* -hotel wasn't prepared to accommodate an "extra blanket" request...lame. Was I supposed to pack an extra 1? No, you're a hotel, you need to be ready for that. The word is Hospitality. -they advertised Queen beds.... I own Queen beds and 1 king... those were Full sized mattresses- not Queens at all. No doubt. Lame. -NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. NO WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE AND NO ELEVATOR ‍this is a big inconvenience for young families too being that it is so hard to travel light sometimes. -Yumi (manager/front desk lady) I'm just going to say it- this South Asian sister may not like black people she was short, condescending, from the start. Cutting me off while I'm giving her my info at check in. Not a fan of rude employees at a hotel -WIFI DRAMA ‍ my phone could connect but my PS4 could not no matter where we moved it and I have never had this issue, this being my 4th hotel this yr. We always travel with the PS4. When we approached Yumi, she basically said it was our problem and was not even interested in fixing it. She said she didn't know anything about PS4s lol but the hotel wifi worked and walked off I'm saying this again if it weren't already clear from an earlier Con- Yumi is in the wrong industry. She had no problem with coming off rude, disinterested in our comfort and satisfaction as paying guests to our hotel- Wild! - while I enjoyed having the outdoor staircase balcony thingy, the door didn't require key card access and so if someone wanted, they could walk into the building without being a paying guest yikes. - bath tub couldn't hold bath water. ‍ - our door to our room looked beat up and we had issues getting into our room at time. Like the key card wouldn't catch and at times we had to pull hard for the door to remain closed. -hot breakfast was ok but the breakfast window is too short in my opinion (6-9am) I'm used to 10 & 11 AM cut-offs ‍

I have always found Quality Inn to be very clean and comfortable and at a reasonable price. This place is an exception. They need to take the word Quality out of their name! Immediately upon entering the hotel I got this Budget Hotel funky unpleasant smell. The clerk wasn't very friendly but I find that Pakistani people lack social skills that way. Next trip I will check out the Best Western.
