I brought my car for a flat tire fix but I was not happy with their service. First of all, while they were trying to locate the small hole on my tire, I didn't feel confident they were proficient on what they were doing. Once they located and patched the hole, they left a large amount of excess tire patch (plug) - over 1 inch - hanging outside the tire so now it looks like I ran over a huge piece of gum. Very sloppy work. I would not feel comfortable bringing my car for something more serious. read more

I brought my car to Julio because it was intermittently failing to start. Sometimes it would choke when turning over, and other times it wouldn't start at all unless I waited several minutes. As a realtor, I rely heavily on my vehicle, and this issue was urgent especially with a snowstorm approaching while I was out of state in Florida. Julio quoted me $3,800, but said he would charge $2,800 if I paid cash. I paid him in full. When I returned from Florida and picked up my car Monday morning before work, the exact same issue happened again less than an hour later. I immediately brought the car back, which caused me to miss work. Over the next four days, I experienced extremely poor communication and customer service. I was then charged an additional $1,260, bringing the total to over $4,000, despite the original problem never being resolved. During this time, Julio forgot to order parts, Blamed Mercedes for delivery delays that were his responsibility Completed only part of the work he originally quoted, later denied ever quoting $3,800 or offering a $2,800 cash price The lack of accountability, shifting explanations, and failure to resolve the original issue made it clear that he was not trustworthy. These guys can't be trusted. And that guy Julio is a snake. I went there after my car wouldn't start. I told them I'm a travel nurse and needed to get back to work as soon as possible. He went on and on how his daughter is also a nurse and all the money she makes.. They kept my car for almost a week and when I came back to pick it up, they presented me with a huge bill... $1,650 whilst boldy adding I would need to come back for a new battery "for a low rate of $400 " the audacity ! Incredibly disappointed, I left. Some days later I was stranded in the middle of the road. I had to get a tow from NY to NJ... almost 500 dollars! Thankfully I was able to get an appointment with Chevrolet who was able to get me back up and running. I needed a new battery and alternator. Which cost me 1,200 dollars. Auto tech did a plethora of things to my car I did not ask for. They took advantage that I'm a girl with literally zero knowledge on cars... saw my desperation to get back to work and callously took my money putting me in danger all to make a quick buck. Shameful and disgraceful . But karma is real old man... and so is an elevated PSA! read more

Please avoid this place, they put me in a dangerous position. I had gotten my car fixed here a couple of times and all was good. This time I had a bad leak, they looked at it and said it would be done in two hours, I went back after about 3 hours and they said they got a part without the seal. I said ok when will the seal be here. He knew I had a timeframe and didn't call me to tell me the schedule had changed, He got nervous and walked in the back and had the guys start on the car again. Then he told me there was a new seal after all? And they would put it back together and I would have it shortly. I came back in about 20 minutes and they said it was all done, I looked down and the antifreeze was still pouring out. He said he was the owners son and I should wait for the owner and that I should be honored that they even tried to fix it. They were busy and didn't need my business . We brought a mini van last week, we were told the ignition was faulty, took it to a lock smith who said the ignition was fine... no issues but we didn't understand why the car would have issues starting then... we went to the shop, my husband explained the situation...with in 2 hours we finally knew what was wrong with our car... the battery terminal needed to be cleaned and the son suggested adding another ground so it didn't disconnect... we agreed, my husband asked him to change the oil and top off on the fluids in the car being as we just purchased it... in total we paid a 100 cash... he added the ground piece for free. We were very appreciative after being incredibly stressed about the car and hearing so many different potential issues we are relieved that the car is up and running. I brought my 2013 GMC in because it had failed inspection. I rely on my car heavily for work having put over 100k miles on it in the last couple years and recently had been having more issues than I can count. I was considering trading it in to get a different vehicle for less of a headache but would then have more bills. Bayonne Auto Tech was able to not only address the vehicles inspection issues allowing it to pass but was able to fix several other issues and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. I'm always skeptical about auto repairs because I don't know much about cars but they were so great walking me through everything and honest about what was necessary that I felt absolutely confident that this would be where I would be taking my car going forward should I have any issues down the line. I waited three months to write my review. Three months ago on a Friday evening leaving work, my vehicle didn't start. I was referred to Bayonne Auto Tech by a friend. I called up around 5:30pm and asked if I could drop off my suv by a tow truck. Julio the owner said yes and the next day my car was up and running. The mechanic also steamed cleaned my engine free of charge. Reasonable price, great customer service, and an honest Mechanic. I waited three months to see if The work they did on my SUV was legit lol and it was. So I definitely recommend them and I'll be going back to get more work done. read more

My husband called early in the afternoon asking how long & how much for an oil change, regular oil. They said 2hrs, and $50. He had to go to work so I took the car in at 3PM. I tell them regular oil and one of the mechanics now tells me they don't have regular only synthetic. I know nothing about cars so I call my husband. He tells me no, synthetic is more expensive & we're getting rid of the car very soon so no point. So I go back & tell them my husband said he wants regular oil, all of the sudden they have it & okay they'll do it with regular oil. I leave the car & tell them I will be back by 5 since they said it's busy & need 2hrs. I specifically tell them I have to pick up my baby by 6 and his car seat in this car thus I need this car. I get there at 5:30, and the car not ready. Nothing has been done. The manager telling me he had to order regular oil that they "didn't have any". A load of crap. They wanted me to get the synthetic oil since it's more $ and they wasted my time and money since I had to take a cab home from the shop then a cab back to the shop just for it not to be ready. Once there the guys are like, 'oh can you just wait we can do it quickly now'. If you could do it quickly then why wasn't it done if I left the car 2.5 hrs ago?! Took car in for oil leak. First thing out of owners mouth is who do you usually go to.. then days that place is horrible. Those "guys" are awful. I say I think you must h e it confused for another place but okay, I ignore it as this place is walking distance and I wanted something close and convenient. Owner then says I needed breaks, rotors an sensor for tire/rotor in addition to the oil leak repair. So trusting him I agreed to all the work. Owner said work would take 2 days... of course then after leaving deposit for parts 2 days later he says they sent him wrong parts and would need a bit more time. No problem. Gabe him another 2 days. Picked up the car... few days later leaking started again. Took it in and he fixed the leak but now car doesn't sound same as when initially brought it in. Now car shakes and doesn't sound right. Do not go there. The will up sell and keep someone I feel they cause additional issues so you keep spending money. Avoid at all costs!!! They are the ones who are awful!!! Lessened learned. Stick to who you know even if it's a bit out of your way. I'll be going back to my old repair shop. read more
