I needed to replace four tires on my wife's car as soon as possible because two of the tires were not holding pressure and were worn out. Since I do not drive this car often, I am not always aware of any issues unless she informs me. I purchased four tires from this location, and approximately one week later, I drove the car and discovered that the steering wheel was not properly aligned. It was surprising that my wife had not noticed this issue. I returned to the location, where I was informed that they had only performed wheel balancing, not an alignment. I accepted responsibility and requested that they complete the alignment. A few days later, my daughter was preparing to drive the car and noticed that one of the hubcaps was missing. I contacted the location to inquire whether they had it, but they stated that they did not. As a result, I ordered a replacement from the dealer. Make sure you check your car carefully once you get it back. About a month later, after driving approximately 800 miles since the tire replacement, I took the car to the dealer for service. The dealer informed me that the front left tire had developed a bulge on the sidewall and needed to be replaced. I returned to the tire shop and explained the issue to the employee at the counter. However, he did not come outside to inspect the problem and instead said that I did not purchase warranty and that I needed to contact the manufacturer. When I asked who the manufacturer was, he told me to look it up online. Because I had purchased a non-branded tire, it was difficult to determine the manufacturer. When I eventually contacted the manufacturer (Sailun Chinese garbage), I was informed that the tire shop would need to conduct a warranty evaluation and that there was nothing further they could do directly. In retrospect, I made a mistake by not going to a more reputable provider, such as Costco or a Goodyear tire shop. I did not choose Costco initially because they did not have the required tire size in stock, and I would have had to wait 7-10 days. Given that this situation occurred shortly after a major snowstorm, waiting was not a safe or practical option, as I believed it would have been dangerous to continue driving under those conditions. I would recommend going with Costco and avoiding the garbage Chinese tire Mavis sales or Mavis in general. read more

Unfortunately, I arrived at the Staten Island, Forest Avenue store to find a trainee at the desk, whose attention I had to ask for. Then he didn't know how to operate the computer. He asked me for my license plate number, which I was not expecting to have to provide. This should have been asked for when I made my reservation.online. Then the senior desk man yelled into the garage for one of the mechanics to attend to my wiper blade installation. The mechanic was not an English speaker, so when he seemed to indicate there was something wrong with my car's wiper arm, fortunately the senior desk man came and pointed out that, with the removal of the old blade, a part was left behind, which made it impossible to insert the new blade. (I think the way the mechanic removed the old blade caused this problem.). The senior man then inserted the new blades. The cost was much more than I anticipated ($54.42) and is much higher than the place I formerly got blades (which recently closed.) I read more

This morning I brought my car to the Forest Avenue location. Before arriving I confirmed my 10:00 AM appointment with Boni. I arrived shortly before my scheduled appointment and was told that there was one vehicle ahead of mine. The waiting room is empty and I am the only customer here. It is 2 hours and 45 minutes later and my car is still not ready. They were only changing out four tires and a wheel alignment. The only communication I've had from Boni is that I need brakes. That was 90 minutes ago. My car was recently checked by a very reputable mechanic and he assured me my brakes were still good and no work needed to be done. No explanation given regarding this outrageous wait time except to say that switching out tires take time. they are definitely eager. they seem like they're on the right track. they make recommendations, and present themselves professionally enough. but the workmanship just isn't on par with the other Mavis in NJ and elsewhere. There's just too much back and forth communication with the front booth and mechs and people. The mechs didn't test drive my car in the lot after the alignment. The computer showed the front was green and the back was in the red. I didn't think much of it until I started driving it in the streets of NYC. It became progressively worse. If i walk into a shop and the customers are complaining about the time they have waited for a simple battery or 1 tire, then its best i don't leave my car there. I took one look at the guys working on the cars, all laughing, fooling around, drinking and taking their time and told myself im not leaving my car here. To say the least the front desk personnel was covered in old grease like he was working on the cars and taking new customers at the same time, like WHAT. Nope, if you wanna get a service done, be prepared to wait a long time or be upsold something. I blew out my tire on a pothole and needed one replaced so figured I could get a cheap one here but that was a big mistake: I scheduled an appointment on their website for this location (staten island) for Sunday at 10:00 AM. I call because i'm running late and they inform me to take my time and come in whenever. I get there around 1:00 PM and they tell me they can't take me. So i come back the next day and they tell me they canceled my appointment and don't have the tire i ordered in stock and to come back tomorrow. I call the customer service number to make a complaint and they said the regional manager would reach out to me shortly. He never reaches out to me and i have to call the next day to get in touch with him, finally do and explain what happened and he said he'll call me right back to figure out what's going on. He calls me back a whole HOUR later, and says my tire that i ordered still isn't here and won't be until Thursday. At this point I am just fed up with the fact that everyone i'm dealing with is straight up incompetent INCLUDING the regional manager. Worst experience ever. I first ordered tires and had a set appointment. I show up to my appointment and they don't have the tires- no call or anything to tell me that. I then have to wait another week to get my appointment (I reordered other tires) and when I show up to my apt at 12 they tell me 3-4 hours to put on my 4 new tires. My car was not even touched until 4pm. I didn't leave until 6pm. Just to put on 4 tires. All the other people in the waiting room were also very upset with the work being done with their car. I purchase for tires from Amazon and had them installed at Mavis on Forest Ave in Staten Island. When they replaced my tires the mechanic never check my tire sensors that tell me how much pressure is in my tires. I came to find out later on that day my sensors were not working. He also charge me to replace a sensor for my brack pads and that sensor is not working. I called the location to set up a date to have everything thing fixed Manager gave me a date and when I came in he said mechanic was out lunch and would be back in 20 minutes. I waited and about 40 minutes later I ask if the mechanic was back and he told me the mechanic had a family emergency and would not be ​coming back. He then said that the mechanic is not in every day and only comes in on certain days. This all started around December 10 here it is January 14th and my car is still not fix. On two occasions my daughter brought the car in two him to see if it could be repaired and he said the mechanic was not in. When I spoke to him today he excuse was she has not be coming in on the day I asked her to as if she doesn't work. Mavis is to large of a company not to have a mechanic on duty everyday. Even a mom and pop shop has a mechanic on duty everyday. He now ask me to come in on Monday at 8am in the morning for a mechanic that doesn't come in until 9am. This is my first and most likely my last time i will ever go to Mavis. I called ahead for a quote on mounting my new tires on, wheel alignment, and oil change. I specifically was told that they were giving me a discount for mounting and balancing and wheel alignment. I found the price to be fair. I got to mavis on forest ave and the guy at the register helped me. He stated they made a mistake and it was going to be a higher price. Fine. The next morning after doing an overnight shift i came straight to Mavis when they open and they told me it will be an hour or two. The wait was HORRIBLE. I waited 4.5 hours just for mounting and balancing my new tires , wheel alignment and oil change. Nope theres more!! After finishing the job HUSSEIN (Mavis worker) told me my hubcap on my rim BROKE. Their response ? WE GLUED IT BACK ON!. (ARE YOU KIDDIG ME) They were nice enough to hurry up the job because i did an "overnight shift" so they wanted to give me the piece and the glue to put it back on myself. Another employee told me that its glued tight and it wont come out and if it does well i quote " i mean theres nothing we can do" I called the corporate office complained and costumer service had told me they will get in contact with them .the worker HUSSEIN comes out with an attitude looks at my rims and told me "all your rims are fucked up i will not replace any of your rims" THE PROFESSIONALISM ON THIS STORE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!
