Good food and good service. Price is right in line for the food. I have been there a number of times and I have never seen disappointed.

Food and service were average and expensive for what it was. Was hoping it would be better. It was not.

I attended with a local friend and he confirmed this is authentic. The experience: Friendly staff, a long restaurant with a bar section, followed by the condiments section, followed by a whole other bar somehow? I didn't poke my head back there but I found that intriguing. More on the condiments: They come with any sandwich. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu. I loved everything about this place except the fact that summer means just about all of the beers were light, and I had to hunt and peck to find beers more my style. Which I did. And maybe those beers are lingering as I type this review. But BeauxJax gave me the warm, fuzzy, welcoming feeling I love in a restaurant. A great stop in Bossier. Worth a detour from Shreveport. Legitimate Cajun.

The menu was interesting, with several Cajun-themed choices, as you would imagine. Nothing blew our socks off on the menu, but we appreciated the local brew selection. This is one of our go-to restaurants in Shreveport. It's not necessarily gourmet, but you won't be disappointed with what you get.

The bread pudding was absolutely the highlight of the meal; it was hands down the best part and completely delicious. The food overall was pretty good, and everything was prepared well. Our waiter did a great job and provided friendly, attentive service throughout the meal. This is definitely a place I look forward to visiting whenever I'm nearby, and I'd happily recommend it to others.

Recently was in the area and I went here back to back days…read more The first day was a Friday during Happy Hour. It wasn't busy, I sat at the bar in the bar area. The happy hour specials had to be asked about, however the bartender/server was very attentive and responsive. I ordered the Mango Cart beer along with the sampler of charbroiled oysters. The bartender also brought out some bread. I had high hopes for the oysters, and although you get a variety, they left me feeling somewhat disappointed. The Rockefeller had way too much spinach, the charbroiled was dry and had too much bread crumbs, the crab stuffed was okay and to my surprise the Diablo was my favorite. I also got some bread pudding which came out pipping hot. It tasted okay although it was too much for one person. Overall I gave the meal 4 stars The next day I came back with friends and we sat in the dining area. This was disastrous. The server let us know she was going to come back and help us after she got the LARGE group next to us taken care of but would put our order in first. Then she forgot about us. Actually told us she had already put their order in and proceeded to take our order. Then she had to come back and confirm (which was wrong) as she didn't write anything down. We started off with an order of crab stuffed mushrooms. Although the stuffing was tasty, as a whole it wasn't something I'd order again. I ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 - 1/2 poboy and gumbo. Food was just okay. The sandwich was dry, the gumbo was mostly rice. My friend, who we were celebrating, was disappointed with her food. When it came to the table she saw fries and asked was there an option and the server said yes, and she proceeded to ask her what she would have liked instead. However the fish was dry, the shrimp was overcooked and the veggies (that she replaced for the fries) was the highlight of her meal. Unfortunately we also both got sick which we assumed was from the mushrooms as it's the only thing we both had. So this visit gets 2 stars.
