    Breakfast!

Awesome spot for breakfast. 5 stars for the service and food. Food order was correct, hot and prompt. Serving portions were in point. The pancakes were delicious and they know how to cook grits. Loved the local nostalgia and art on the walls.

Fried Chicken Breast (double breast), Rice & Gravy, MAC & Cheese, Butter Beans, & A Roll - YUM!

First time eating here. My family and I are so happy we gave this place a try! So sooo good and priced. We had 4 meals, all came with 3 side orders along with bread of your choice (roll, cornbread, or biscuit), 4 drinks, and 3 pieces of pie for $54. We all took 1/2 our food home because it was so much. I had the fried chicken breast (it was a HUGE double breast), butter beans, macaroni and cheese, rice and gravy and a roll. Other family members enjoyed beef tips, fried fish, baked beans, broccoli, cheese and rice casserole, fried squash, and cornbread. It was all great! And if you're a breakfast person, they serve it all day. If you like down home delicious country cookin', at a very reasonable price, this is the place for you! We can't wait to go back!

Sunday afternoon lunch. Simply delicious home style southern food. The portions are huge. The food is seasoned. Unlike cafeteria style food restaurants whose entrees are bland. The waitress are friendly enough and appear to be busy all the time. you just have to catch one to get a drink refill.

We made a road trip here a while back and it was well worth it! We had been told by several people to try this place. We tried 4 different plates. Our favorite was the pancake......they have a great pancake. The biscuits seemed homemade and they give you a ton of gravy and these were great too. Our Hamburger Steak with Grilled Onions and Brown Gravy was very good but also a little dry. Our Chicken/Country Fried Chicken with Cream Gravy was above average. The sides were delicious: Greens, Okra & Tomatoes, Macaroni, Fried Squash, Fried Okra and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy..... The Cornbread was soft and a little sweet and delicious with butter. Overall a great trip and a great setting too!

I had an okay po'boy here, the fries were okay, and the biscuits and gravy were okay. Everything tasted recently unfrozen and store bought but it tasted okay. An A+ for service.

It's a small town diner, with a lot of heart. I love the service and the touches of love put in each time we go. Keep on being great!

But table seating was available. After taking a couple minutes to decide. I chose the shrimp poboy. It was delivered at 12:05, with the tails on. Before I could eat, I had to pull them off. It was fantastic. So I guess I'll be okay. By 12:20 I was cashing out lunch for one $20. They issued a 20% discount for my military id.

When in Shreveport on a Monday, your dining options are...limited (unless you fancy a casino…read moredinner, which we did not). So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.
