If you're looking for some southern classic dishes you'll find them here. The shrimp and grits is amazing and they have a large selection of items including to go platters in their fridge section. They do offer a military discount which is a plus but you must be in uniform. A military discount is never expected but I do dislike that only when in uniform will they honor a discount even with a military ID. I'm in the military when in and out of uniform. Prices are a little higher than other lunch stops and their hours are very limited but overall this place is always a treat.

Woww~ this place never lacks of smiles! Once I opened the door, they greeted me with huge smiles! (feel important ^^ heehee). Both owners and servers are nice! ^_^ Your glass will never be empty and your table is cleaned promptly. Everything is delicious! My most favorite dish is the Smoked Turkey Sandwich, it's soooo good! The turkey is tasty and the bun is soft and crispy at the same time! I really wanted to know how they do it but, I didn't ask them, too shy. ;"p The chicken chunks in the gumbo are big and is yummy! I am drooling as I am writing this review. :"9 Will definitely be going back! I really wish they were also open on the weekends! ^_*

My chips and very tasty spinach dip along with my delicious smoked turkey sandwich with a hidden slice of fried green inside.

I went to Bistro To Go several years ago when he was just starting up with a name change and leaving Southpark Mall. Everything I had back then was good and everything is even better now, more perfected and lots of new menu items. He's doing some killer business. Upon Picha's review and persistent demands :-) to try their smoked turkey sandwich and to (as she put it) express my ever-lasting love to my wife by taking one to her on her lunch hour at work, I relented. I'm glad I did. I remember a couple of the options were to add cheese or fried green tomato. I got ours with fried green tomato and for my 2 side items that come with it, I chose a bag of potato chips and their spinach dip. There is a humongous amount of meat on the sandwich and the sweet curry mayo on it puts it over the top. Delicious! The dip was very tasty but left me wishing for a larger container of it. I also had their bread pudding and while I did enjoy it, I make a much better rum sauce (though I usually opt for brandy), no fault with the breading part though and I still recommend it as I think it will be better than what most people have ever had. I definitely recommend Bistro To Go and I look forward to trying much more on their menu.

Working lunch delivered to the office, and it smells great!

They delivered lunch to my office and it was so good! Grilled chicken breast, with mushroom sauce or a Thai chili sauce, salad, a rice dish, fresh brownies, and iced tea. The sweet tea was fresh and not too sweet. They also delivered a bag of ice which was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. The brownies were soft and full of melty chocolate chunks. The chicken was moist and flavorful and I loved the mushroom sauce. The rice was tasty and had chunks of zucchini. The salad though...I could eat that forever! A perfect green salad topped with strawberries and the best dressing ever. The next time I'm in Shreveport I plan to go by and see if I can buy the dressing on its own in a quart or something! I will definitely make it a point to go to the actual restaurant and try some more of the delicious menu offerings!!

Once we had hit an hour and 10 minutes it had gotten to be a bit too much. Our waiter came by and kindly let us a know a table of 12 people were waiting on their food and then ours would be out we weren't in a rush so I guess it didn't matter, but we were beginning to be uncomfortable! The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. It feels very chaotic and unorganized. We were given a discount and key lime pie & a cookie for our "troubles". Even with the discount we were still over $100 for a bad meal.

So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.

The halibut was delicious, came out HOT but not overcooked or dry which is incredibly difficult for a fish dish and was a nice change. My guest had the red snapper - grilled snapper, Yukon scalloped potatoes, crabmeat, lemon garlic cream, crispy spinach and she enjoyed it immensely For the ending we split the peanut butter pie. I attended with a local friend and he confirmed this is authentic. The experience: Friendly staff, a long restaurant with a bar section, followed by the condiments section, followed by a whole other bar somehow? I didn't poke my head back there but I found that intriguing. More on the condiments: They come with any sandwich. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu. I loved everything about this place except the fact that summer means just about all of the beers were light, and I had to hunt and peck to find beers more my style. Which I did. And maybe those beers are lingering as I type this review. But BeauxJax gave me the warm, fuzzy, welcoming feeling I love in a restaurant. A great stop in Bossier. Worth a detour from Shreveport.
