    Entrance to light display
    Michele M.

This is a free event with an advance reservation. This was our first time here, after driving by for years. When you first get into parking lot. You will be put into a line of cars and you will wait as for your lanes turn. There is from what we counted about 12 lanes. Tune your radio to 92.9 and enjoy the show while you wait your turn. The lights above you are flash and sing while you wait your turn in line of cars. Which kept the kids busy singing and dancing in your car. Within 15-20 mins we were on our way through the wonderland of lights. The ohhs and ahhhs you can here from the kids opened windows as they drive through the display just tells you how worth the wait it was. The light displays are bright and spread apart enough were people won't get bored. You drive through different themed areas that were great decorated lights. We especially enjoyed the cars themed area the best. Thank you Bayside for putting on a must go to Christmas light display. We are hooked and will back every year now.

You have to make reservations to attend the light show. You get free tickets, but they do ask for donations. The line to get in was pretty long. We had a 9pm reservation so I honestly didn't think it was going to be to packed. The line to get in went somewhat fast but then they had us all line up inside. They had people going car to car trying to sell water, popcorn and light up toys. We sat there for about 45 minutes to an hour before we got to go through the lights. Which only took 15 minutes. If I knew how long we would be sitting I wouldn't have came. I asked my kids if they would want to come back next year and the answer was NO! Even though it was FREE it wasn't worth our time and we won't go back.

Bayside is such a great place to check out Christmas lights, simply amazing. This is definitely a must visit if you're in the area or not in the area during the holidays. It's a nice drive-thru holiday lights experience, they have a laser light show as your waiting to drive through complete with screens with videos and they even have a special radio station that coincides with the screens and laser lights. I've been twice this holiday season and I just love it, it goes at a very slow pace so if you're driving trust me you can stop or slow to a crawl so that you can get some great pictures (just be careful lol). I love the fact that it's free however you do have to go on the website and reserve the time slot you would like to go and tickets do go fast so be quick and reserve them in advance. The first time I went I arrived at 9pm and the line was quite long to get inside and then my last time I went at 8:30pm and the wait wasn't as long and both times were during the weekend. I plan to do this every year during the holidays as I loved it and it can be a tradition. Love all of the interactive lights, music and the whole experience.

Tickets were gone soon, but Bayside church was on TV promoting their Christmas Adventure. They said they were going to release 150 extra tickets each day between 12pm and 3pm through their social media outlets. The waiting game started: 12pm no tickets, 1pm no tickets, 2:54pm there were tickets available! We were able to the 8:30pm showing. Later that evening we drove up to Rocklin. We got onto Stanford Ranch Road (7:30ish) and it was a parking lot leading up to Bayside Adventure Church. The line of cars moved pretty fast, but that only led to another line where you wait in one of seven different lines with twenty to twenty-five cars in a group. There were signs showing a radio station on it for you to turn your car radio on. The music is sync'd to the lights making it a pretty cool experience! Finally it was time for our line to go see all the lights. You start by going through a tunnel of lights, around the corner with Christmas lights on both sides of your car. As you enter "Toy Land" you see clips of Christmas movies playing on the side wall of the church. Continuing your drive you are basically in Disneyland. It was like walking down Cars Land! Best of all Mater is there, in Christmas fashion. From there you keep driving to see different lights that were made up from different iconic landmarks from famous cities across the world. Next area you drive through was a bunch of cool Christmas props, ending with Baby Jesus in his manger. All in all, the drive will only take you fifteen to twenty minutes, but I am pretty sure you will enjoy every minute and will even forget about the hour wait to get inside from Stanford Ranch road to the end of the show.

If you're looking to do something with the kids, or you're a kid at heart, this is the place to go! You cant get better than free. Yes, you read that correctly, its free! You will need to register online for the date and time that you'd like to visit. Its so worth it though. We stopped to get hot cocoa, and cookies for our drive through this winter wonderland. SO MUCH FUN! We presented our ticket to fun with the guard, and then we were placed into one of several lanes of cars, waiting our turn to see the lights. Holiday music will fill your radio with the Bayside music. (they have their own radio station) Kids will come by your vehicle to offer candy and light sticks for sale. Its fairly reasonable, and I would encourage you to buy something. Its how they fundraise, and pay for the free lights that you're going to see. They have this down to a science. They usher each filled car lane in, like poetry in motion. As you slowly drive through the light show, they encourage you to take pictures, and take in the moment. Kids will love the sharknado! The gigantic snowman and huge ornaments will make you want to decorate your own neighborhood. I love the flashing lights that rhythmically change color, as if insync with the holiday tunes playing in the air. Once you're driving through, it goes pretty fast, so stop and see the lights. Just dont hold up the cars behind you for too long! Its a wonderful way to take a break from the crazy holiday shopping, and kick off the holiday season!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!! This year was even better than the last. My family discovered the Bayside lights after moving here and have been huge fans ever since. My son asks to drive through the lights and smiles the whole time. Bayside does an amazing community service and I cant imagine how many thousands of hours must go in to putting this together. You need to reserve your time online ahead of time and they are great about getting your group going pretty close to your scheduled time. Do yourself a favor and grab a warm beverage before going through the lights, crank up the holiday tunes on the provided radio station and remember the true meaning of Christmas.

I came here with my boyfriend last night. We grabbed hot chocolate from Dutch Bro's right before. We reserved a spot for 8:30 PM. It's really easy to reserve free tickets online. No one checked out ticket as we pulled in. They have a radio station you listen to that's in sync with the lights (92.9). I didn't know this at first and it took a while to realize that. We were designated to be in a certain spot and there ends up being rows of cars. It's all very smoothly run because there were no issues with this. The light show was absolutely amazing. This is great to watch for all ages. So many people asked me where I was where after posting the lights on social media. I definitely want to come here again. Next time I'd listen to the radio station from the start!

Cute place to take the family or visiting friends for the holidays. My husband thinks that there was more to see the first year they opened (2016), but I couldn't really tell. I just remember in 2016, they had someone dressed up as Darth Vader doing lightsaber fights with another character on the church steps. I'd imagine that'd be really cold to stand out there for so many hours, so maybe that's why we didn't see anyone doing that this year. I thought last year they gave out info for their church services along with candy canes too. This year, not much was said about their church services (at least to my knowledge). Definitely a fun yearly tradition. Just make sure to reserve tickets WAY ahead of time. We got tickets easily in 2016 but in 2017, we waited too long and couldn't get tickets till Dec 26th. Fortunately they weren't very busy around Dec 25th, so they were letting people in without tickets.

    Loved the lights here

Christmas lights drive thru where you sit and chill, yes please! We signed up through event bright for a time 9-9:30. Starts at 6:30. Its the church on the hill with all the lights. They direct traffic and separate the cars in lines when you drive up. We got there a little after 9 and the line started moving at 9:30. It seems to be every 1/2 hr they let in a huge group of cars drive thru. Its very organized and you can tell a lot of work went into this free event. They have a radio station you tune into to listen to Christmas music throughout the drive. They lights are great and set up nicely. There is even a star wars battle. It says online it runs until Jan 1st but not Christmas eve. This is definitely something to bring the family too and nice for those who cant walk. After the drive they give you a candy cane and are very friendly. Will do it again! 6401 Stanford Ranch Road Roseville, CA 95678

Living nearby I have notice the impotent of the lights each year as this is such a huge undertaking I am sure. Please allow plenty of time. On a Sunday night we waited in line in the parking lot for our turn for about 25 minutes. They have a nice light show as you wait but you will hear part of it twice. They do have you text or go online to reserve a time to prevent a back log on Stanford ranch drive but they do not check this.

It was fun but not something we would do again. We waiting for 3o minutes in the parking lot. The lights and music was fun but it was just on repeat. And once you finally got to drive through it was so fast. Just something that had so much hype, it was a bit of a letdown when we went through.

Pro-tip: be sure to park further away as ANY event at the fairgrounds will cost you $10 and in CASH ONLY. In addition to the cover charge, you have to buy $5 vouchers which get you sample sized items from all vendors that were put on. It is somewhat of a glorified food truck event. There were only a few places that weren't food trucks. I didn't really like the voucher system as not all vendors accepted them for things like desserts. I ended up having to trade my voucher back for cash toward the end. It would just be easier to hand the vendors cash for all the items, but apparently the vendors only get like $3 out of the $5 paid for the vouchers. I guess the cover charge isn't enough for the event hosts? It's basically just like any other food festival but overpriced if you're paying for the cover charge and parking. It's not a huge event. Paying for parking was the way to go, it was a short walk into the event when some of my family members had to park far into the neighborhoods. There are some chicken themed vendors and a few chicken dishes can be found at the food trucks. We witnessed a chicken call contest on stage where the person with the best chicken cluck got a gift card for $25! There seemed to be some chicken themed activities for the kids as well. Country music and hay bales as seats. 2 Beer/Wine gardens to ease you from the heat. I bought a load of jalapeno cheese bread from the cutest bakery vendor. If you go early enough there are plenty of spaces for street parking. There weren't too many people there. I think this is more of an event for the locals. It was quite big and flavorful. This was probably one of the most popular items there since it had the longest line. I also ordered the strawberry puppies (hushpuppies) for the sake of getting something strawberry related- $2. It was ok but I don't understand why the Hershey's chocolate sauce that was used to dip the strawberry puppies into was so watery. Of course they also sold plain old strawberries. We used an Entertainment coupon, so we only paid $10 for admission. Otherwise, it would have been $20. I definitely would not pay full price for this event. We were in and out in an hour. There isn't THAT much to see warranting the price. Plenty of these are far cheaper or free to attend. I can understand the state and county fair for $10-12 each, but not the Berry Fest. There's more festivities geared towards kids, which a lot of us childless people don't utilize. Plus it costs money for parking as well. ($5 according to another review) We always park further and walk. So I am minusing a star for the entrance and parking fees. Prices are also not all that clear on the site. We saw the archery show which was....ok. It was cool to see them competing with each other, but it was literally impossible to tell which arrow belonged to who. My suggestion would be to attack a big colorful string or change the color of the arrows to match each contestant. We were left confused as to who was winning the entire time because of it. Nobody was mic'd either so it really was silent in terms of the arena. Next we saw the jousting show which was really fun. Tons of theatrics, horses, fighting, and crowd work! That was a good time. Then we went to walk around and catch some of the smaller shows. The majority of this Faire was just vendors selling things. I love events like the Oddities and Curiosities Expo which bring in tons of vendors showing off stuff I literally have never seen before, and I have a huge impulsive feeling to buy. I didn't get that once at this faire. Sure there was some cool stuff but it really wasn't anything that I felt like I needed to buy. Some soaps, crystals, swords, books, and disgustingly a stall selling AI artwork. Some vendors really did have some cool stuff like handmade clothing that was too far out of my budget, but I would love if I were rich. Lines were insanely long so we didn't eat or drink anything here, but it looked ok in terms of food. I just wish there were some unique vendors here or other things to do like games and events that you can partake in. Overall it's not a place you're going to spend the entire day at, but it's fun to kill a couple of hours in costume.
