And they passed the acid test; after they left, I noticed two small things which I thought could have done better. They returned immediately and made these right. And they sent an invoice almost a week later (giving us an opportunity to discover any other issues, which we did NOT), and the invoice was for the exact amount of the estimate. They accepted my credit card payment over the phone. Our job was a small one, but they have definitely encouraged us to contact them again for our next job - small or large. When possible I like to support small independent local businesses and made the call for an estimate . Dan the owner spent a lot of time at our in home visit to review the scope , made great suggestions on 2 new pots and pan drawers and assured us we would not know they were refaced but would look like new cabinets . We chose a beautiful Maple wood with new drawers on amazing soft close silent hardware . The work crew was professional , skilled craftsmen that figured out every little corner and angle to perfection . I am amazed at the quality of work . The transformation is stunning . Then Dan came to our house and spent a significant amount of time with us explaining our options, showing us samples of cabinets, and answering all of our questions. We opted for several additional options on top of our initial estimate, but we never felt pressured to add or upgrade anything. We initially had hoped to do refacing to improve the overall aesthetic of our kitchen, but we were so excited to discover some of the additional options that were offered that solved functional problems that had always bothered us! When we reached out to Better Than New, we didn't even realize how much they could do besides just refacing. We replaced all of our old, hard-to-open drawers with beautiful, easy to open, soft-close drawers. We added a pull-out drawer for trash and recycling bins. We replaced sagging shelves in our cabinets. And we replaced the shelves in our deep pantry with drawers, making the space SO much more usable and accessible for our tall family. So not only is the kitchen beautiful, but it's so much more functional. There were zero hidden fees. The work was absolutely immaculate. The team was incredibly professional. And the work was done as scheduled and on time - the entire project only took 2.5 days!! I didn't receive estimates from other companies, so I don't know how the price would have compared. But we feel that the finished product, the quality of the materials used, and the professionalism and skill of the team were worth what we paid. Our…read morecurrent project was to replace wall to wall carpet in 2 bedrooms which we had purchased at this F&D 8 years ago. We were tired of the endless vacuuming of our labrador's hair and sleeping in an environment with a dust-collecting carpet. Due to health limitations, we needed to do as much "shopping " over the phone. Our goal was to compliment our existing laminate vinyl flooring which we purchased at this F&D 8 years ago. We were fortunate to get an inventory associate to go to the aisle and give us the SKU numbers so we could see the items on the F&D website. She flagged down Anthony, the Assistant Inventory Manager who took over the call, made a couple of suggestions based on his knowledge of the color/style of our current flooring. We made a plan to meet Anthony at the store. He was patient, extremely accommodating of our special needs and educated us about our various options. We took 4 samples home and were able to quickly rule out 2. We finalized our decision when Nick Nocero, salesperson for Floor One that would be doing the installation, came to our home to measure. Please see my review of Floor One in Mesa under that company name. Anthony remained extremely available and helpful by phone on subsequent days as we maneuvered through the process of Architectural Review Committee approval by our HOA (we live in a condo). Once the floor was decided upon, Victoria, the Design Center Supervisor got involved. She was extremely helpful in checking on inventory and finding thresholds to be a good match to the flooring. We also were told by the Floor One salesman that we may need colored caulking for the tile that would meet the flooring. Victoria looked at pictures we sent of the current color and suggested a great match. Pleasant and professional, we enjoyed working with both Anthony and Victoria. On the day our flooring was being picked up by Floor One (delivery is an add on it offers), it was pouring. No rain all Summer and on that Monday, it was torrential! Arthur in the warehouse wrapped the entire pallet of our materials in plastic shrink wrap. Part of the loading dock of F&D is covered so the Floor One box truck was able to load without the floor getting wet. Enrique, the Floor One delivery person (he's fabulous), coordinated with our installer Cesar (sensational)the delivery to later in the morning when the rain stopped. When the project was complete, we kept one box of flooring and Enrique brought 4 boxes back to Floor & Decor. The credit was on our credit card within 48 hours. We highly recommend Floor & Decor.
