If you're at Bayside Marketplace, definitely do the Miami Skyline Boat Cruise to see the Millionaire's Homes, it's such a vibe. Just don't go with the first person selling tickets since there are plenty of options to choose from. The views are beautiful cruising through Biscayne Bay past Hibiscus Island, Star Island, and even Al Capone's old mansion. You can grab a drink on board and just relax and enjoy the ride. There are also a bunch of restaurants, shops, and little spots to grab souvenirs like keychains, T-shirts, and bags, which is perfect if you're visiting. Just keep in mind parking can get pricey, starting around $7 an hour. Street parking is cheaper (about $5), but it can be a bit confusing. read more

It's been many years since I've been prior to this past weekend. There are plenty of eateries and shops to explore while people watching and walking around. The parking garages charges a fee depending on the amount of hours. Wait, you got to pay to park while spending money at the marketplace? That makes sense. The places my daughter and I went to were Crocs, Margaritaville, and It's Sugar. We saw the Sky View Wheel while we were eating dinner and it looked pretty cool. There was a lot of people when we went on a Saturday night in the main areas of the marketplace. However, I still can't get over that it cost something to park in the Bayside garages since they figure all the other parking garages charges a fee as well. read more

We had to come here as it was the departure point for a cruise. It is an open-air mall + large Ferris wheel + Hard Rock Cafe entertainment district. If you are searching for touristy restaurants or loud outdoor bars or souvenir shops, or just like super-aggressive salespeople who confront you in the aisles, this could be the place you are looking for. Parking in their deck was expensive - $10 for an hour, $20 for 2 hours, and $30 for up to 8 hours. I didn't want to go once and I don't want to go back. read more

Been about five years last time I was here. Bayside Market has stepped it up a notch. Big market where you can shop, eat and enjoy music all in the same vacinity. This is the place perfect for people watching. There is a lot of movement all around. Enjoy a stroll through the open air kiosks where you can find good deals on clothing and souveniers. If you are not afraid of heights, you can take a ride on the magnificent Ferris Wheel and enjoy sky views of Miami Biscayne Bay. There are also Boat rides. This is definitely a tourist magnet area. Bayside is back! Been many years since my last visit and boy did Bayside step it up! It's lively, it's upbeat! It's more entertaining! Great amount of vendors to pick from and enjoy as you walk the strip and along the waterfront. Many bars and restaurants and boutique shops to explore. Love the souvenir shops around that has very reasonably price products. They have all cuisines to satisfy any cravings from Mexican to Latin to sushi to Mediterranean along with many dessert options to satisfy that sweet tooth after dinner. Bayside seems to now be able to compete successfully with nearby areas within Miami for the nightlife scene with all the buzz it's making. The big bright ferris wheel continues to attract the foot traffic and the restaurant and bars and shops seal the deal. Parking is plentiful with a garage right near by and public parking on Biscayne Blvd is also an alternative with an easy walk. Bayside is clean and organized with security and ambassadors around to aide with any questions. You gotta give Bayside another visit and see everything it has to offer. read more

Originally came here as a drop off point to the nearby Bayfront Park, this two-story outdoor market/mall (situated on Biscayne Bay, right next to the CIty of Miami marina) ended up being a nice place to hang out while waiting for our cruise port time. My brother and I had arrived into Miami really early in the morning, so decided to go to downtown Miami until the early afternoon (our prescribed time for check-in). Going to a public park is a common choice for me when wanting to kill some time, especially if it is near a body of water. After our $40 Lyft ride from the airport (took more than 30 minutes during Monday morning traffic), we found a nice outdoor table (not associated with any restaurant) that we could park our luggage and sit. Many other cruisers must have had the same thought, since all the tables were taken soon after us. The mall opened in 1987, with over 200,000 square feet of retail space. It underwent a renovation in 2016. On the side facing the bay, there are many restaurants with al fresco dining, taking advantage of the outdoor views. Most of the stores seemed local, with some national brands like Foot Locker and Sunglass Hut thrown in. One thing to notice was that some infrastructure at the mall was out of order, including elevators and escalators. read more

With Bayside in Downtown Miami, you really can't say that there is nothing to do. It first opened around 1987, and with its open air layout and vibe it was perfect for a kid in Junior High to hang out (after being dropped off by the parentals :) Like most of Miami, it has become more luxe over the years. The live stage right next to the bay? It has a turf area with seating and jenga. The parking? Of course more expensive. The old food court on the second floor (and Hooters)? Replaced. The old "Let's Make a Daiquiri" bar? Now it's a more upscale cocktail bar with a full liquor selection, included blended mojitos and the pinot grigio my ladyfriend enjoys. We most recently stopped by this past Sunday, since the overcast day it wasn't clear that a beach day would be possible. We played tourist in the various shops, new restaurants and of course the boat tour. Our choice was the celebrity tour boat that went along celebrity homes where we checked out the various luxe homes - including some I've designed - and which celebrities inhabit them including that of an erstwhile (baby)oil baron #iykyk The only bummer about the boat is that the onboard bar doesn't serve her favorite wine. However, we could bring out frozen drinks on. The Skyview Ferris Wheel is one of the better ways to spend $25 per person. The view alone, especially when each cabin stops at the top, is one of the reason why "I needs me my Dade County". Plus it's a nice view to sneak a moment with someone :) Besides the main bar, there's a new space called LolaBar that also blends good mojitos. Foodwise, we ordered the chicken quesadilla & 'Cheeseburger in Paradise' from the Margaritaville space. While it wasn't 'white glove' service it still tasted pretty good and the right kind of food for playing tourist. read more

I'm an out of town we visiting and I thought Bayside Marketplace was great. I don't know if there is free public parking but I ended up paying $20 for all day in a lot at the south end of the venue. Lots of places to eat, both sit down and grab and go. Affordable types of shops. A very nice bar area in the center of the venue. Lots of kiosks, and for us visitors, a ton of souvenir shops. It's also just a block away from the arena the Miami Heat play in and their team store. Take a look at the Dwayne Wade statue. It's a little of a funky pose and likeness, but hey, it's still D Wade. Beware the bait and switch. Smoothie kiosk giving free samples and then you order "I'll have what I sampled" and it comes in a full votes out pineapple and costs your life savings. Pro tip, get the non pineapple husk one for less than half the price. Another beware is one of the ice cream places on the first floor. $13 for a small? Glad I checked that first. There's a big Ferris wheel at the south end too. Lots of booths selling various tours. And a very expensive snack stand. You could spend a few hours here no problem. Just take your time. read more

My friend from Cali stopped by and was eager to taste the downtown Miami vibe. Bayside Marketplace, here we come! I was curious about how shopping malls stay afloat and Bayside has it figured out. My Latino bestie was in Heaven dancing to live music in the center of Bayside where all these nice yachts are docking in to join in on the festivities. The Bayside Marketplace in Miami is a great place to pick up a few gifts or relax for an afternoon. I hung out here one afternoon for about 4 to 5 hours. It was very interesting. There was a lot of shopping. They have all the top stores it's located adjacent to a marina. All the employees at all the venues seemed really happy to work here in this area. I was impressed. They have custodians going up and down the main outside areas cleaning sweeping disinfecting definitely a clean place to hang out. there's a few restaurants and bars all hopping. Most of the tour buses that are hop on hop off stop here. that's actually how I came to this place I was on the big bus tour and this was one of the stops. it also is adjacent to downtown Miami if you have some business so very convenient for the locals as well. Everybody is doing a great job in creating the amazing environment and it felt like being on a party the minute we entered till we went back to our car. We got some amazing fresh tropical juice and ice cream from skoops, since we already was full after a round on a virtual kitchen. What one should perhaps not expect is that the price is cheap. But it is def worthwhile to do the tour to get the atmosphere and the experience when in Miami. A lot of parking both right outside and in a garage nearby. read more

I had an amazing experience here. It's not the best shopping or quality merchandise, it's the openness and excitement. You can take a waterway tour, you can see the city via the eye Ferris wheel, you can eat, purchase souvenirs. It's all pretty mundane, but exciting. I had the best empanada I've ever had in my life here, a great churro, and a slice a pizza that seemed it was fresh from NYC it was so good. Prices are based on tourism, so they can be expensive, but I enjoyed myself and had no problem paying for the things I partook of. This is a great place to visit in downtown Miami. It's close to the Miami Cruise port so it's a great option if you need something to do before your ship leaves. The Skyviews Observation Wheel gives you some pretty awesome views of the city, and there are plenty of bars where you can grab a drink and just soak in the atmosphere. If you're into shopping, you'll find lots of souvenir spots, and if you get hungry, there are tons of food options. Just be mindful--this place is built for tourists, so plan accordingly. What makes Bayside even better is its location. It's right next to Bayfront Park, where you can check out the newly reopened Mildred and Claude Pepper Fountain. We visited Bayside Marketplace before our cruise. It's a very busy and beautiful setting. We ate at The Hardrock Cafe, overlooking the water. The food we had was great and so was the wait staff. We were only there a few hours, so I can't wait to go back and spend more time there. We did get to watch a few of the tours that was going out on the boats, just wish we had more time. Getting back to the food, the prices were good for what we ate. The menu was very extensive, so they had a very nice selection. All in all, I'd definitely recommend Bayside Marketplace. read more

Cute place but overwhelmingly overpriced. Yes it's full of tourists, and shops and things to ride like the boats. But parking is not free and it's like greater than $30 after 3 hrs. Bathrooms are hard to find, not where it is indicated per google map. The food is expensive including a pina colada virgin costing $12 for a small tiny cup. It's your standard tourist trap kind of place where people who are looking to kill some time after coming home from a cruise can hang out kind of thing. I actually do like the variety of stores, even if the some of the prices are pretty ridiculous. However it is a nice place to walk and it's not too far from the monorail. But if you're dying to buy stuff like magnets and T shirts then this isn't a bad place to stop by. There are several good restaurants located there also. You will find the Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville, Fat Tuesday, Chili's, Bubba Gump, Five Guys, Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls, Mojito Bar, Las Canita, KUBA, and more. And don't forget the spectacular Skyview Miami Ferris Wheel with amazing city and water views. The Thriller boat ride is for the adventurous! Trust me, it's Wild! I've been on it a couple of times. You get to ride past celebrities' multi-million dollar homes on Star Island. Expect to spend at least 1/2 a day at Bayside or longer. It's a lot of fun! read more

Eh. It came off like an answer to Chicago's Navy Pier but didn't really have much to offer. It's a great place to go if you're looking to have regular seafood along with a boat ride, but there isn't much worthy of shopping within the marketplace. read more
