I needed to have the roof replaced on the estate house within 30 days for insurance purposes. I contacted Vaz Construction and was connected with Elijah DeSouzs as my project manger. He was the best. Kept in touch with me on a timely basis, always on time for on-site appointments, knowledgeable about the roof products and friendly and kind. We were able to get the job done within my time frame. The roofing crew worked from morning until night and they were great! They left no mess or debri in the yard. If you need any construction work done, call Vaz and ask for Elijah. You won't be sorry.

One guy would be there for three days and then someone new would show up and have no clue what the last guy did. One of the employees painted the bathroom walls without even wiping the walls down after sanding. What a mess and it had to all be redone, which I am sure would not have happened if I did not complain. At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Overall the experience was very disappointing, even more-so with the amount of money they charged us for their sub par work.

After a few times I said you asked me to tell you and I will give you the information. Well, I was interrupted an additional 2 times. When I asked if he could stop interrupting me and let me finish a sentence, he hung up! I found the brief interaction unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. Since this was a first time impression and opening communication, I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I could not imagine trusting this company representative with my home. I would give "0" stars if it were an option!

Last fall he cut his water damage restoration teeth in Florida after catastrophic Category-5 Hurricane Michael. For two months, he worked 18-hour days as a first responder in the Panhandle. He saw every imaginable scenario -- homes impaled by trees, rooftops completely relocated by the storm, homes where every nook and cranny were saturated. One client showed him a video of a waterfall in her living room! Our water damage emergency -- routine broken pipe -- paled in comparison, but it seemed quite urgent to us. Joe came to our house late at night to uncover the source of a ceiling leak. Drops of water were settling along cracks in the kitchen ceiling, which was ominously bowed. Joe was very congenial and was super informative about what he was doing. He had some special tools which enabled him to do his job more efficiently than a regular mortal. A moisture meter helped him detect wet drywall and measure out how much of our ceiling to remove. He cut strategically with the final stage drywall in mind. Pulling down saturated ceiling is a very messy process, but Joe managed to protect our house from all the debris. There were so many loose items in there from a construction job - lengths of pipe, loose nails...even an Allen wrench! Joe showed us that the corrosion on some nails indicated that the leak had been going on for some time. He said that there was a very small amount of mold. A manageable modicum of mold, I guess. He sprayed the affected area with an anti-microbial agent, cleaned up and headed out. It ended up being a really interesting experience. My family actually sat and watched the whole process. We had a ball!

Once the fire was under control it became a free for all of restoration companies fighting for my business. Oceanside stood above the rest! They were professional and kind. They acted immediately so that we were able to return to our home that night. They cleaned up all the water in the basement and installed equipment to dry the house out. The next day they cleaned and removed all the soot which was throughout the house, removed the dryer, replaced all the insulation in the basement and replaced the hot water heater. Their prices were reasonable and they handled everything with our Insurance Company. I highly recommend this company when life throws you the unexpected. They did not follow that request and instead charged my credit card $1,157.66, even though I understood my card would only be used if the carrier refused to pay. They did not provide the estimate to the insurance company/adjuster as requested. When I contacted the office to address these issues and request proper documentation/process, the communication was frustrating and the office staff was rude and unhelpful. Due to the lack of professionalism and transparency, I ended the relationship and will not use them again.
