I bring in my handbags/shoes and they take the items in for inspection and authentication. Each item takes about 15 minutes. They return with a list of your offers or reason they don't want the item. You are under no obligation to accept the offer nor do you pay a fee for authentication. Whatever you decide not to sell is returned to you; for what you do sell you have a few options - store credit, Neiman Marcus gift card, or cash payout. If you do the cash payout, you receive a direct deposit within in days. Make an appointment whether you are selling or buying, best way to do it. And plan on 15 minutes per item (if you have a lot, I recommend breaking up the appointments rather than having to wait, though I will say it never takes as long as they quote you).

I had been going to Famulare for a decade, and had many pieces worked on or created here. I had dropped off two watches my husband inherited from his late brother, they were sentimental, and I had also dropped off a ring that I needed a stone reset in. I commute and would have needed to pickup in one trip on a weekend. A woman working called because the watches were done, and she wanted them picked up immediately during the week even though my ring wasn't ready. I called to tell her I commute, and can't come during their business hours. She was very agitated and said they can't hold the watches in their safe until the ring was completed and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable with not being able to pickup like they wouldn't hold my watches safely. I asked over two or three calls to pickup my order on the weekend which she pressured me to come during the week despite not even being able to get there in time. It's almost like she wanted me to take time off work which was outlandish. When I made it there a couple of days later, thank god my ring was done and I could leave and never return. Although the other staff was apologetic, I told them what damage her behavior did and that I don't think I would return knowing they don't value the customer's time or even make the customer feel like our valuables were being kept safe. Not sure if I will return, they comped my fee which I didn't ask for but I am not sure I would bring anything else in. It's a shame. Ten years and I'd referred people and one person soured my experience.

Our mantle clock was in one of the first things we bought as a couple in the previous century. it means a lot! okay, some notes: a. it may take time to get both an estimate, 3-5 weeks, and for the actual repair, another 3-5 weeks. i think there may be only one or two repair persons as this is a family shop. b. we paid half once we got the estimate and another half on pick up. the total cost was $250 as several of the internal components had to be sourced and replaced and the entire clock needed a deep cleaning. They also kept it for another week to ensure it was operating correctly c. the best way to follow up is probably by phone. Bob's has limited hour, 10-3 Monday-Friday.
