My friend and I came in to check their loans vs pawns items. We are very new at this. So we thought this we be a learning opportunity for both of us. She gave them her ring. 14k , white gold, w/ .75 diamond solitaire. The girl we got wasn't customer friendly. Didn't talk or look straight directly to us just looked at the item and gave us a price. We ask if she can go any higher. Her answer was "No". We were kinda in a daze. Cause retail wise this ring was very expensive and we know we won't get that price. All she said was $200 that's all. Keep in mind if we knew then we could have gotten a little bit more. We would never go there especially when we told her it was our first time. I think she took advantage of us being a novice not knowing how it works. I don't know, I just didn't get a friendly vibe with this company at all. I had a loan out on a gorgeous ring. Joseph had reached out to me to let me know that the loan was due for payment last week. I let him know that I would come by this week to pay for it and he said no problem you have 10 days to pay on the loan when I showed up today to pay for the loan he told me he never said that and that they had shipped off my ring. I was shocked because I had just talked to him last week. He also claimed that they had left several voice messages and my voicemail was full, which is untrue my voicemail has never ever been full. He had told several other things that were very far fetched. Due to his unprofessionalism and misinformation, I will definitely not be back to gems and loans. I went to see if they buy my rings, they guy said he couldn't see the diamond clearly. He asked me if he could clean the ring, I said ok. That was about a few days ago. I'm trying to sale the ring now because the offer they gave me was an insult. Most rings have the number of carrots inside the ring just like mine had before I took it tho this place. The mast have grind it inside, because now there's marks and I don't see the 14k plate. Don't go tho this place or let them clean your ring, they have a nasty scheme to take some gold off your rings. Never thought I'd ever have to pawn something but glad I did with these guys! I searched Yelp for the best pawn shop based on interest rate and length of time to pay back, and this shop just seemed too good to pass up. I brought in my laptop to pawn and it was my first time ever doing something like this, but the person helping me out did an awesome job making me feel comfortable and quickly processing my request. They give you about 4 months to pay back whatever loan you borrowed and the interest rates is pretty darn low compared to many other places. I was gifted a ring from this "business" in April. On May 26th, the stone, a Smokey quartz, fell out. We brought the ring back to Angel, the manger; he was very polite and he ensured us he will replace the stone for us, free of charge, within 7-10 days. Ecstatic leaving the store, we were anxious to be receiving a call. 15 days later, On June 10th, we still had not received a call. We call the store where we were told both the jeweler and the manager were off and no one could seem to help up or give us any update. 2 days later, now on the 17th day on June 12th, we received a call late afternoon letting us know the ring was finally available to pick up. My name was not on paperwork, because it was gifted to me. My boyfriend was told I could pick up, since I dropped it off with him. The following morning, I went to pick up the ring. I was rudely told that I could not pick up the ring because my name was not on any paperwork. I called my boyfriend, who was working at the time letting him know hey were being "assholes" to me; which I strongly y felt they were. A man by the name of Alex then started letting me know I was being the "asshole". My boyfriend then call the store to see why I could not pick the ring up. Alex answered telling my boyfriend, "she I being the asshole and is out of control." He then continued to inform me that I will feel my karma one day and I get what I pout out. An older women, whom I did not get her name, felt she had to inform me what a great, hardworking employee Alex was. As if this would cover up the fact the way he was speaking to me. DJ, the man who was getting my ring from the back then took over 5 minutes. He then brought out the ring, which I thought was a joke. As seen in the picture, the original stone(left) was black. On the right is what I received back. This "business" is a joke. They did not keep their word. They continued to try to push the blame on me after getting upset that they did not do their job correct in the first place. I highly recommended reading these Yelp reviews prior to stepping foot into this "business". If you would like poor customer service and broken promises, this is the shop for you. If there were an option, I would give NO STARS. read more
