Located right off the US 101, which is great for road tripping people. There's at least one good restaurant within walking distance too. Our room, 258, was missing some amenities like a luggage rack, no iron or ironing board (if you like to do that), and only provided 2 tiny single serve packets of body wash and conditioning shampoo. I'm grateful that there was also a small bar of soap. The bath in the room didn't work...I mean you couldn't shut the valve and actually take a bath. Water was fine. The room's were reasonably priced for the height of summer. Note that there are no elevators. Be prepared to drag your luggage up a flight or two of stairs. Desk chair inside was also torn and frayed - the room overall could have used an update. Noise level was bad for a while until a suite next to us calmed down. We turned on the swamp cooler to run all night so the white noise could deaden the noise. Next trip through town, I think we'll try a different hotel. read more

I was here in 2024, staying overnight. At that time, my girlfriend said she didn't feel the towels were 100% clean. Of course she had negative opinions about everything, and that's why she's an ex. Lol I personally liked the room myself, with no complaints. Here again, 2026, I didn't make a reservation. I walked in and asked a very charming woman if they had any rooms available, and lucky for me, they did. $93.50 for the night, in a very large room #250, with all the amenities you would need: Ice bucket, hot water and/or coffee/tea maker, microwave, mini fridge (empty for your own beverages, etc.), heater/AC, TV with remote, queen size bed, desk, cabinet with drawers, two night stands with night lights, blow dryer, 3 sink towels, 2 sink towels to remove makeup, two body towels, a wash cloth, floor towel, and the bed was so comfortable. If you like Latinx food, across the street is an authentic Mexican restaurant (Perlita's Mexican Restaurant). The Bayview Inn front desk manager said that was restaurant has good reviews. I bought 3 nice size tacos for $17. Anyway, the Bayview Inn has a very large parking lot. I give a rating of 5-stars because I found the place to be welcoming, and the room to be clean and comfortable. When in the city again, I'll definitely stay here. read more

Stayed here July 2025 as part of our Redwoods National Park trip. Overall, good experience. People mentioned noise being an issue since it's right by the ocean but the most that happened was an argument happening outside the room, which I apparently slept through. Only thing I could complain about was that there were flies when we entered the room. We took care of them but noticed the windows have no screen to block out bugs. Is this common? Friendly concierge and complimentary coffee in the lobby area. Good location near all the food places and sights we wanted to see within walking distance. Didn't run into any shady characters though we did leave during daylight hours. For the price we paid, aside from the bugs, can't complain. read more

People complaining about having our dog, not excessively barking, people complaining to us anytime we took her outside to potty or just simply going to and from our room, she's a friendly, non aggressive Labrador. The room was literally at the top of the stairs which it was not quite and everytime someone came up the stairs my dog would bark and then people would complain. Also we where literally packing the rest of the stuff up it just hit 11 am and people where knocking at the door to clean and 11:01 am they where calling us. I have never stayed somewhere that this has ever happened. Most hotels have a little grace period of 10-15 mins, it would go along way with customers. Would not recommend at all. read more

Is this place super nice? No. But after reading the other reviews, they seem to have upped their game. We stayed here conveniently the same night as all the tsunami warnings, lol. The owner gave us all a couple of options of either waiting it out or going to a casino down the street that was higher above sea level so I appreciated that. Check-in was simple and they were very friendly. Our room was dated but clean. The shower pressure was good and bed was nice for a night to lay our heads. This town isn't fancy... there aren't many places to stay but I would stay here again if need be. We sleep with a sound app on so we didn't have issues with noise either. Give it a shot. read more

Me and my husband stayed to visit the redwoods for our anniversary and had such a wonderful stay. In the like special instructions section online when I booked our stay, I asked if they could add something that said "happy anniversary" to surprise my husband. When we got there I was so surprised how above and beyond they went to make us feel special. There was a handwritten envelope on the bed that was addressed to us. Inside was a handwritten card with glitter hearts that sprinkled all over. The staff signed the card and it was so sweet. They also left two roses and chocolates for us and the towels were made into the shape of swans! It was so so sweet. The jacuzzi was lovely. When we were checking out they offered us coffee for the road! We'll definitely be back! Thank you so much! read more

The King Bed Jacuzzi Suite is VERY SPACIOUS! Located in the 2nd building (not the original building with the office). It has a private balcony with a clear but distant view of the water. Large Jacuzzi tub with 6 jets and it filled up surprisingly fast! We added the motel provided conditioning shampoo for an instant bubble bath *YAY* The King Bed was a little to firm for my liking (my personal preference) and the 3 small pillows were comfortable enough, but I always bring an extra pillow so I was fine. This room has a standard motel mini fridge with a tiny freezer cubbie, microwave and a 1-cup coffee maker. Shower water was Hot, the water pressure good and no issues with any faucet. I'm picky about my coffee; I found the coffee to be UNdrinkable. The room is acceptably clean (some kid had Cheeto fingers and dragged them across the wall), well worn furniture and bedding is clean but also well worn. The heating and a/c worked great, but we only needed the fan *good weather day* Again: Location is Awesome and this place is an EXCELLENT VALUE overall! If you value cleanliness and would like to save yourself from back pain avoid this place at all costs. We stayed here during Easter weekend and when we arrived our initial room they gave us was in horrible condition. It looked like a crime scene. Stains literally everywhere. On the carpet,furniture,bathtub and even the bed sheets! The room was dirty and dusty like they haven't cleaned it in years! The shower was even missing the bathtub portion it was just a shower with curtains and flat on the bottom so it would just spill into the rest of the bathroom. (maybe meant for handicap folks but not too sure). We brought this to the attention of the young woman who was at the front desk. Didn't catch her name but she was extremely nice but she has to work on her manners because she was gross. She literally burped loudly in front of us and continued like nothing happened. She did upgrade us to another room for free for the inconvenience which we appreciated. Upon entering the new room it was a bigger suite and the room didn't scream clean and sanitized but it was a night and day difference. While it did feel alot better with the room I would still recommend wearing slippers/shoes/socks at all times. Also the window screen was missing so be careful leaving any windows open as bugs or other unwanted visitors might come in. Not too sure why the first room looked like a murder scene but the 2nd room looked decent. The cleaning crew could definitely work on their consistency. Once we were satisfied we went about our day and came back to the room. Everything was fine until we laid in bed. At first the bed felt cheap but we just needed somewhere to sleep for the night so we aren't picky. It wasn't until morning that both me and the Mrs felt a pain in our lower backs. Never before have I felt such pain in my back to the point where I feel like someone took a baseball bat to my back. We stayed for 3 nights and I am still feeling the effects of that terrible bed. Our lower backs have never felt worse. The pain is so bad we had to go see our chiropractor to help relieve the pain! Overall if your just looking for a cheap place to stay with the lowest of the low standards this place is just for you. For anyone else that cares about themselves or others I would look elsewhere and even suggest spending a little more just to avoid this place entirely. read more

My son and I just did a 14 day roadtrip along the coast of Calif/Oregon?Washington. We stayed at your Bayview Inn the evening of Sept 9th. We stayed in a downstairs room facing the ocean. #1. The lady in the office had left a sign saying she would be back in 15 min. It ended up being much more. BUT she is kind, helpful, very busy with 3 people waiting besides us. She was your shinning star. The rest of the motel was HORRIBLE. In all our travels I have NEVER seen such a filthy threadbare motel and I am a hiker and camper and don't need a lot of pampering but it was raining slightly and we were very tired from driving and needed a motel instead rather then tent camping. I pulled back the bedspread first as I always fold it up and set it on the dresser. It was stained terribly and the sheets were thin and stained. I actually went out to the truck and got our big beach towels to put on the sheets and and our own pillows since I did not want to lie in the stained sheets. I took a picture with my cellphone to show you the tattle tail gray thin sheets. I've honestly never stayed in a place so gross. The cover that goes around the bottom base of the bed was stained with something that looked like either old blood or coffee. That picture is RIGHT after I pulled back the covers. You can see how poorly the bed is made. I used to work in a motel as a maid and this would never be allowed! The washcloths and towels were also stained and so thin I wouldn't even donate to a thrift store for rags. Honestly, I don't see how the health dept or whoever sees motels allow you to stay open. There was also NO SCREEN on the windows. We left the window open a crack because there is no air conditioner in the room either and we needed air since it smelled. NO screen on the windows? Homeless people were wandering around all night which made me concerned about our truck but the lady at the front desk gave us a room where we could park right in front of our room. She was very helpful. I honestly felt like I needed to take a shower and toss my pillow in the trash after sleeping on that bed. Oh very uncomfortable lumpy beds too. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. The motel is in major need of repair and general maintenance (plumbing, electrical etc.). The sound insulation is lacking, and you can hear the traffic on 101 all night long. Upon checking out they refused (including manager) to give me a receipt because I booked the hotel through booking.com. He said to get the invoice from them even though Booking.com on their website states that the hotel will provide invoices. There are much better choices in Crescent City. read more

We got the room with 3 queen sizes beds. The room was HUGE. The beds were VERY comfortable. Usually I can't STAND hotel beds, but these were very nice as were the pillows. We also had a pretty nice view (2nd floor). My only complaints were that the curtains need replaced (torn at the bottom & holes throughout it) & none of the windows have screens. We were only there 2 nights & we ended up with our garbage overflowing because noone came & emptied it or replaced towels. Definitely worth what we paid for the room. I do not recommend the Bayview Inn. The rooms are disgusting. The cleaning service obviously do not take pride in their work. I was appalled at the room I was given. I requested a different room which the front desk provided saying they were "upgrading" me. It did not feel like an upgrade considering the sheets smelled like mildew and there were still stains on the floor. Do not book here, it is dirty and extremely uncomfortable. Next time I visit I will not stay here. You are better off staying in a motel 6, at least they follow public health standards. read more

Me and my boyfriend stayed here on our way to Oregon. We arrived at night time and were very tired. The front desk lady was super nice and showed us what there is to do in crescent city. One thing was that she charged me for the room even though I had already paid. She was able to cancel it but of course I had to wait for it to clear and get refunded. We finally walked into the facility which was an annex separate from the hotel. Immediately it smelled like cigarettes even though there were signs all over stating "no smoking" Walked into the room which was descent. Of course I checked for bed bugs and bed seemed to be clean. As we're lying down, we hear knocking on our window. Some girl asking us to let her in. We also noticed a white van with people in it just hanging out outside. I then realized there were just alot of weird people coming and going and hanging out. I didn't get to sleep at all that night. Woke my boyfriend up at 5am and told him I didn't feel safe here and for us to go. Front desk was nice enough to just charge for the night. This hotel is cool is you're a heavy sleeper or just need somewhere to crash throughout your roadtrip. read more

Was in town to see the Redwood and decided to stay here for 2 nights. Price for the room was reasonable but the unit didn't have A/C. Asked if there's any rooms with a/c and was told it would be more money. So I went with a room with a/c. Sheets and pillow cases had stains on them. "GROSS". Had to wait until the next day to asked for new sheets and pillow cases, since house keeper has gone for the day. read more

I'm willing to put up with a lot for a decent priced hotel, but there is a lot of truth in the adage regarding getting what you pay for. I think what the Bayview Inn is really lacking is decent housekeeping staff. While it's not the nicest or newest hotel, nearly all of its drawbacks could be very easily solved by a qualified housekeeper or two and a management system that took pride in the place. However, not giving a crap abounds here. From the nearly deplorable conditions of the room to every interaction with staff this was reinforced. Dirty stained floors, cracked tub surround, debris all over, cup of very old coffee and cig butts on deck, unemptied coffee pot, no coffee, only one coffee cup, dirty window, I could go on, but what's the point. Interactions with staff were the same, waiting for a break in the constant barrage of phone calls from current guest not being able to work this or missing that Etc. I will say that check in was simple beyond that, and that while frazzled, the front desk person was quite nice if a bit inept. Overall, I feel I deserve a refund that I won't get.... And an apology that won't be enough. Like I said at the beginning...... with a much needed assist from Meatloaf..... I'll overlook a whole lot for a good deal, especially on an in room spa tub suite.... But I won't do that! read more

Charles E. Reply to my post is incorrect he was not at the hotel at the time and is simply fabricating the facts to smear my name. Most likely his staff lied to him because they're afraid of being fired. The police left after it was clear that I had done nothing wrong. The rest of the night I had to listen to two persons partying in their car sniffing speed in the parking lot outside of my window. Attacking a customer is not what I would call good management. The police seemed to be annoyed at having to visit the hotel again and we're very polite to me and my family. read more

Booked a room for our 40th anniversary. The only special thing was to make sure there was a bathtub. Not a single shower room. And I booked 2 weeks ahead to make sure I could get one. No bathtub. I could have overlooked the smell and other undesirable things but no consideration for my request was my reason for canceling. Any other place in town would have been better. read more

You get what you pay for. The building is old and tired, although they've worked to try to make it clean. Pros: The room was plenty big enough for two adults. Nice vanity area to spread out our stuff on. The beds were comfortable enough. Cons: 1. The TV did not work. It kept saying 'no input.' It also could have been either mounted on the wall or on a higher furniture; it would have had toes blocking it. 2. The small refrigerator was on the floor, so one has to get down on hands and knees to look around. 3. The refrigerator froze just about all of what we kept in it, causing us to lose about $15-20 worth of produce and beverages. The temperature control knob was imbedded in solid ice, so we could not adjust it. 4. There are no USB plugs anywhere, luckily we had one with us. If I needed accommodations in the future I'd start by exploring other options. read more

The price is decent but I'd probably never stay here again. First - no AC. I understand in crescent city it's typically cold and no need for it, however when the bathroom fan doesn't work and the whole room gets hot after showering, it would be nice to have as an option. Instead I was given an old, dusty/dirty fan to use. Then the shower knob wouldn't work and you had to tug on it forever to get the shower to turn on. The shower head also kept coming off. The phone wasn't working because there wasn't even a cord attached to it. The blankets were dirty and stained. Thank goodness we brought our own and were only staying one night. I've also known some people who've stayed here that found bugs in the bed. The carpet smelled pretty bad. And lastly, you could hear every single thing going on. Don't plan on getting much sleep here. When the person upstairs turns on the water or flushes the toilet, it's LOUD. I'd rather spend a little more money for somewhere cleaner. ****EDIT / RESPONSE TO OWNER*** I'm not sure how to reply to the owner's reply to my review, so I'm writing it here. My wife and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, May 22 without a reservation. The front desk assigned us room 112. When we opened the door, we noticed that the room was still occupied. A wheelchair was in the room, the bed was not fully made, and personal bath products filled the bathroom counter. The excuse from the front desk was that the maid had not cleaned out the room yet. I don't think so. The front desk reassigned us to room 214 which faces the noisy freeway. When we entered this room, the heater was on full blast. It felt like a sauna. We turned down the thermostat but had to open the window to cool down the room. (The outside temperature was under 60°F.) Beyond all this, the room was okay for the price we paid, but I would not want to stay here again. read more

Labor Day weekend 3 night stay. Needless to say...This is not a very clean hotel! Zero cleaning room service! We placed the card thing on the door to have our room freshened and hoped clean towels but the night time clerk Jocelyn ( Sunday Sept.3) said, we have posted at check in that you have to ask for service. Um, my husband checked us in and was not made aware that we needed to ask for our 3 day stay. She then told us we could come down and get new towels. She was very rude and unprofessional. We will not be returning. Better service at a motel 6. This is an old outdated, run down hotel. The carpet is nasty!! Told my kids to wear socks or flip flops at all times. No screens on windows. Thankfully on second floor. Smoking apparently is ok in hallways... It was so stinky!!! Ms. Jocelyn thank you for your unprofessional attitude. My recent post did not get posted about this place. After 45 years of staying here last weekend was the last ever. I would sleep in my car if need be at this price. Hole in carpet was the worst, dripping tub faucet that i had to put a towel around to stop the noise. Reefer that would not stop running, empty so not needed. The staff is and always have been great. It is sad that this owner has let this place go so far. It is a cash cow, but you have to make improvements faster than it deteriorates. I and my family stayed here for years, diner next door. Also this was the highest I have ever paid. Had a room the next night in Corvallis, Best Western, great property. 60.00 dollars more for a first class room. There are other places in CC. Definitely a Motel.. not a Hotel. There is something very gutterbutt about the rooms and the meth heads surrounding the area. The rooms are not throughly cleaned which is an easy fix -pick up a vacuum cleaner and actually use it. Use some elbow grease when cleaning. Basic shit. New tub lining, also a cheap easy fix that would've made my tub look inviting instead of riddled with cigarette burns. +1 star is for the water pressure in the showers. That's a big deal for me, so at least you got that right. -1 star for the fact that when anyone in the building uses their shower, we are all woken up by it because it's so loud. read more

Great place to stay over the weekend I tend to driveout to Creasant City for the weekend and this place is the best so far from the other places I have stayed. The rooms are huge. I had a room with 2 queen beds a flat screen TV and a couch. The room was so spacious I was able to do my workouts without a problem. The sink is in the room and not in the bathroom but mostly all hotels out there are set up that way. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. And the best part was that I couldn't hear the traffic at night so my sleep wasn't interrupted. The beach is right behind and there was an amazing Mexican restaurant right across the street. The prices of the rooms are very reasonable. I will definitely book again. read more

This place is absolutely disgusting. My family and I stopped here after a ten hour road trip from Astoria completely exhausted. We immediately noticed that only one light was working outside the office, the other was flickering almost presenting a spooky, eerie , foreboding vibe. The receptionist, after she came out of her smoky, cigarette stank cave took my credit card and gave me a room on the bottom floor next to the staircase and sketchy parking lot. Next to our room was a 5 gallon bucket filled with God knows what. We walked past their laundry room only to see the creepiest tweeker ever doing his laundry. As we entered the room the musty smell of cigarettes consumed us. The walls were filthy, carpet near the door was shredded as if someone had left their dog in there. The window.....no screen, the bathroom was so gross! Filthy , stained toilet, chipped tile , mildew on the shower curtain, and a dirty mirror. The furniture was worn, torn and ancient. The bedding was thin and dingy. I knew we couldn't stay here.. I was exhausted but knew we could never sleep in this room. Before I walked back to the office, I decided to lift the mattress on one of the queen beds.....and there they were.....4 of the biggest bed bugs I have ever seen. I was ready to puke. My wife looked like she was ready to pass out. I immediately put everyone back in the car and had them lock the doors. I went back to the office and told the woman what I had seen in the last 5 minutes and demanded my money back. She reluctantly voided my charge. No apology, no concern....total apathy in her voice.......I drove 40 minutes south and stayed in Arcata. The whole vibe of this place is horrid. There are numerous methed out tweekers wandering the sea of abandoned cars in the parking lot. These rooms are party rooms. I am convinced that drug addicts pool their cash to rent rooms here and go big. No upstanding human being could EVER feel safe here!!!Numerous long haul truckers sleeping in their big rigs surround the parking lot. I cannot over state the foul impression this place left on me. My wife and I couldn't stop talking about that room the whole next day! It was that bad! Honestly. Don't ever stop here unless you have a loaded gun. Never bring your wife or kids near this place. I was ashamed I even parked my car and brought my family into this environment. It is not possible for this place to have anything more than a one star rating.
