This is a lovely 6.8 acre park in the upscale Bayview neighborhood of Ft. Lauderdale, It is located next to Cardinal Gibbons High School. Located on a spacious corner lot, the park is very open with many access points. There is an ample parking area lining one side of the park. Park amenities include lighted athletic fields, tennis courts, basketball court, open play area, picnic tables, ADA accessible shaded playground with many climbing and play structures, tennis court, gazebo, and restroom. I walked the exercise path that takes you around the perimeter of the park, Along the way I encountered a lot of nice shade trees and manicured landscaping throughout the park, I saw a couple of other people exercising and a few were having a picnic but the majority of the people were concentrated in the playground area. This is a nicer than average neighborhood park in one of the nicer neighborhoods of Ft. Lauderdale.

Bayview Park was home to my entire High School career! Which I enjoyed far more than club. I truly cannot say enough good things about my time on my high school team. I felt like after many degrading years of travel soccer, high school soccer really lifted my love for the game back up. Because of this field (and the many hours spent on it) we were 4x District Champions, 3x Regional Champions, and 2x State Champions. I am so proud to have been apart of this team, we broke so many records and proved so many people wrong.

This large park is full of things to do. Over 6 acres, they have a full court basketball court, lighted athletic fields, batting cages, a pavilion and picnic areas, restrooms, tennis courts and a large playground. Much of the park is shaded and there is a nice walking path to go around the park in a circle. Great for getting outside during these pandemic days. The pavilion can be reserved for a fee. There is free street parking available. [Review 13289 overall, 607 of 2020.]

Bayview Park is a park owned and operated by the City of Fort Lauderdale. As it is located right next to Cardinal Gibbons, a private Catholic High School, it's one of the most active of all parks located within the city. In fact many erroneous think it to be a part of Cardinal Gibbons, which it is not. It has a lot of open area with a good deal of amenities such as a full basketball court, full baseball and separate but full softball fields, a four table gazebo picnic area, an especially nice young children's or kid's playground and decent restroom facilities. It is also, because of its high usage and the fact that it is located within the neighborhood Coral Ridge Country Club Estates, given meticulous care. Though beauty is not one of this parks better assets, I'm going Four Stars on it for it based upon the sheer number of sporting amenities it has to offer. But as a tip, Bayview Park is very much baseball oriented, so at times it really gets crowded and on baseball game nights, you might just as well forget using it for any other purposes.

Plenty of parking and heavy foliage hiking trails with blacktop walking areas too. The security alerts are posted everywhere, "Park Under Video Surveillance", "Lock Your Vehicles", "Park At Own Risk", which actually brings a heighten safety concern for me as I sip my coffee in a secluded area. No pets are permitted on nature center grounds - assume since wildlife may devour a small dog, not sure. Other signs advise pets permitted by park permit only, but does not indicate on the posts about service dogs - kind of confusing. They provide guided nature walks through the park which seems like a fun tranquil activity for people with good knees and a decent pair of binoculars. The far west side of the park provides beautiful views of the New River and small critters like crabs along the waters edge.

Centrally-located near trendy Las Olas Boulevard and the famous Intracoastal Waterway, Victoria Park has long been one of the city's most prestigious communities. Indeed, it attracted the attention of none other than Julia Tuttle, the American businesswoman credited as the "Mother of Miami." Partnering with railroad magnate Henry Flagler, she convinced him to extend his railway down to South Florida, thereby allowing the region to grow and develop. Fort Lauderdale was one of the many cities that benefited from the economically vital Florida East Coast Railway, which ran right through it, albeit with an auspicious curve to the west of what is now Victoria Park. This is no accident - at the turn of the 20th century, Julia Tuttle explicitly denied Flagler the right of way through what is now Victoria Park, having recognized it as one of the most beautiful and pristine areas in South Florida. Its elegant oak hammock, prime waterfront, and gorgeous climate had made it - as to this day - the crown jewel of the burgeoning new city.
