The trail is nicely shaded and has a paved walkway which makes it easy for parents pushing their child in a stroller or the casual jogger out on a nice morning. The trail has plenty of benches as well as beautiful views of the natural landscape and the water that separates the path from the golfers on the course. Along the way there are information boards to learn about the Preserve environment. There are emergency posts located along the 1.1 mile trail incase there is a problem if 911 needs to be called. I also noticed a cute painted rock collection that stretches over 30 yards in the shape of a snake. Next time I will will be bringing a rock to contribute. Overall, I thought this place was great on a nice day but it would be too hot during the summer to visit.

Although it's very famous for its off road courses, biking the paved roads of the park is great as well. I've also used the range here, solid. Nature Center is great. Perfect trails for all ages. Restrooms and refreshments available. I did the Half mile boardwalk loop trail which is very shaded, so it wasn't feeling too hot. Very tropical. Felt like it was actually misting but no rain. Lots of water under the walkway. It's a Lush forest. Then I did the 1 mile loop prairie trail plus an extra 300 yard loop trail off the prairie trail. Overall a nice forest. Check it out if you haven't been. It's free and plenty of parking was available on a Saturday. They Even had a cleaning station with a water hose and foot scrubber to clean your shoes on the way out.

So glad some friends told us about this place awhile back when we were talking about places to take the grandkids in the future. But even if you're just a kid at heart, You may want to visit here. Wear your bathing suit. It's easy to find. And there's ample free parking out front. Mid week when we stopped by it wasn't very busy. But if I had kids, I'd be here every weekend -- especially in our recent hot weather. First and foremost is the interactive water/splash pad. So many machines spraying water, buckets dumping, etc etc. The three kids there were squealing with joy and excitement. Such fun. There's also a story walk/trail for children with various stops plus a regular walking trail. A covered playground with equipment for kids. A Volleyball sand court; basketball court; grills; picnic areas... all with a large swath of green grass in the middle -- perfect for events/concerts. On the south end is the canal C-14 with a fishing pier. More "waters edge" as in the name. And also for adults, there's a covered area right near the water with all sorts of gym/exercise equipment. Don't know what more you could want except maybe a few more resting benches along the main trail for the older folks... Go check it out. Bring the kids.

This is a beautiful community center located in Volunteer Park in Plantation. The center has…read moremeeting rooms with seating from 10 to 175 people. The main banquet room can seat 50 to 240 people. It has a dance floor and stage and a grand piano can be made available. The center also has a full service kitchen with a convection oven, walk-in cooler, ice machines and commercial warmers. The community center can be rented for weddings and other events. I attend a rummage sale held at the community center that benefited the Plantation Historical Society. Two large rooms were filled with vendors selling books, housewares, clothes, sporting goods, toys, collectibles, and all the usual kind of things you find these second hand item sales. I was able to find a one of a kind fancy feeding station for my dogs that has a crown. It was nice to shop the items and help a worthy organization at the same time. The next event that will be held here is a craft fair to benefit the Plantation Woman's Club on Nov 9 - Nov 10, 2019.
