Whenever I travel and there is Nordstrom nearby, I always go! It's always a pleasant lunch with great food... until today. Service was so slow, I literally felt invisible and had to go find someone to get a menu. The food... meh at best. Just NOT your typical reliable enjoyable Nordstrom lunch. I've been here twice and was impressed the first time but let down the second. It is convenient having a sit down restaurant at the mall, the food is decent and they have an espresso machine. The food is somewhat reminiscent of Cheesecake Factory. I had the Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro today and it was laughable. Overcooked pasta, and the shrimp was gray and tasted fishy which is never good with shrimp. Not an iota of spice. But this place does have nice views and good service. I went to the Sono Collection mall to shop the other day and decided to dine at Bazille for my second time. Both times I've gone, I have been very pleased. When my family and I arrived, they seated us right away. I was happy that we got to sit in a booth along the windows, which has a beautiful view of the water and a park nearby. I ordered the Bazille Burger, and they got the French Dip and the Warm Asian Glazed Chicken Salad. My burger was juicy and very flavorful. The sauce on it was really good and the fries were fresh. I tried the French Dip and OMG... it is amazing! The salad was also great, from what I was told. The only complaint about the salad was that the sauce on the chicken was just a little too salty. The waiter we had was really nice and attentive. He recommended the burger over the chicken sandwich. I appreciate a waiter who's honest about what he thinks is better. They have a nice menu with lots of very unique dishes to choose from. It's so worth dining at Bazille from my experience. read more

Bazille is the main restaurant at Nordstrom in the SoNo Collection. It's In the middle of the store. There's also a huge bar. I had the French Onion soup. Actually it was called something like 'the best part of French Onion Soup.' There was little broth, and it was mostly onions and cheese and pieces of baguette. It was good. read more

Disappointed today in the food at this place. Ordered the tomato basil soup which was fantastic and was excited to get the lamb Mezze special which was 3 different lambs. Lamb slider which was good but the kofta was raw and the meatball was not heated through. Hubby had the crab, mango salad which he said was a solid 3 of 5. The servers and staff were very nice and adjusted the check to accommodate me sending back the dish. Views of SoNo are excellent. We will try them again in the future. read more

I know they haven't been open long and are still working through the kinks (plus they were super swamped on this rainy gray day) so this review is for the food mainly. Crab bisque is divine - I don't usually care for asiago but it was baked in the accompanying crouton and was a delight when dipped into the luxurious bisque. The little gem lettuce could have been chopped a bit more in my salad but I loved the homemade dressing and the amount provided, crispy croutons and of course the requisite anchovy!! Throw in some deep fried capers and that would be perfection. Forgot what was in my cocktail but it was vodka based and a bit fruity but definitely not skimping on the liquor - Delish! First time here, came for a late lunch. I liked the fact that it is basically a full on restaurant with a full bar since most restaurants in Nordstrom don't have that. Given that it was a late lunch the place wasn't too busy but the food did take really long to get and none of us got anything complex, just a couple sandwiches and a salad. So not sure why it took so long. I would say my sandwich was ok the bread was a little too burnt for my liking. The French fries have a strong rosemary seasoning which is good if you really like rosemary for some might be a little too potent. I tried my nephews Mac and cheese which was very watered down but I mean he ate it so I guess it's fine. My other complaint was for the salad they didn't cook the steak to order and given that the customer was pregnant the meat had to be done properly, but the waiter had no problem taking it back and they cooked it a bit longer. So the staff was at least friendly. I mean i know a few people that rave about this place so I wouldn't mind trying it again and trying some of their other items on the menu read more

The absolute best. Everything here is good. The French dip is exceptional as is the French onion soup but you really can't go wrong. Beautiful views and a friendly staff. Shout out to Bill And Mary! Both are stellar servers. Only criticism is there's definitely a feeling of trying to upsell but I'm sure that's dictated by management or corporate. Really terrific. Well, three times the charm. I went back to Bazille for the third time and I was greeted by Shar and Bianca. Lovely ladies full of charm. I had a cranberry and Prosecco cocktail . it was in a nice flute glass. A terrific way to start of the afternoon. Then I had the Nordstrom burger which is yummy. I ended up with a humongous layered lemon cake with lemon sorbet. As usual they didn't dissapoint. I have to call and buy their coffee and tomato sauce which is definitely going to be yummy. We went to Bazille because the French Dip has been recommended by many. This restaurant is located upstairs by the children's department. It is open and looks out into she store. Some tables have views of a park. It is unadorned and very cafeteria- like. We have been 3-4 times and service is always the same-odd. A very eager manager who is polite and gracious is overseeing a very young, inexperienced waitstaff that looks like they just rolled out of bed or discharged from rehab. Their clothes are disheveled and not super clean. They bring you a bag to place your mask which in 12 months no other establishment has done, nor is it needed. When bringing the food they are wearing gloves and my husband's deviled eggs slid down and clustered to one side of the plate... Which is why they seem inexperienced. However, the food is good. I've never had a better lobster bisque. It has a kick to it. We both agreed that alone was worth the trip. Unfortunately it has not been on the menu since. The French Dip is quite good. Go on the weekend as I think the senior chef is doing the cooking. On a weekday visit the au jus was separated. My daughter and my husband have both had salads. The shrimp cilantro was one and they loved them. No leftovers. Go for the food and try to get a window seat... It's never crowded. read more

We ordered a Margherita Pizza, Crisp Calamari, Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos, Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata, Apple Cobbler and a Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie with Vanilla Bean Gelato. Best place to dine at the SoNo Collection! Food is consistently good. I've had the salads with the roasted chicken. Instead of getting stringy, shredded chicken, the salads are topped with a perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken breasts. Brunch options are terrific; my husband loved his sausage and biscuits. Sandwiches are made with fresh ingredients - freshly baked bread, crisp lettuce and flavorful proteins. Kids meals options are great to accommodate picky eaters to more healthy minded families. Service is friendly and professional. We had a lovely conversation with our server, a young Egyptian-American who made us feel comfortable and made our lunch an enjoyable experience. After dining at Pinstripes and Yardhouse with mixed experiences, I can firmly say that Bazille is the best lunch option in terms of quality, value and service. read more

I'm something of a geek for niche restaurants, good or bad, and I have a special affinity for the tradition of the centralized department store eatery. It's just a classy and timeless touch you rarely ever see anymore so I was delighted to see them even try the concept. The highlights: Unshockingly, being a substantial portion of a floor at Nordstrom, the decor is quite lovely. Some of the soft furnishings lean a little further into "bland hotel" than exciting restaurant but the custom fixtures, especially the bar are nicely done. I will say the layout forces the bar itself to protrude awkwardly out onto the sales floor and I don't know, I just wasn't much for my scenic view of the men's underwear section. I felt this was more of a Nordstrom merchandising error than a Bazille layout error however. Consider removing the glass barriers and replacing with relevant merchandise displays to both cordon the area and transition softly into sales-- Housewares, some spatulas, what have you. The bar itself seemed competently and contemporarily stocked, their consultant knew their stuff. This didn't seem reflected in the staff however. Nothing was "sold" to me, no mention of the cocktail list and only a passing interesting in whether or not I wanted wine. I tend not to fuss about price but I did notice the patron across from me balk at ordering a house Chardonnay and receiving a $13 pour. I get it, we're in Nordstrom, but the food itself wasn't unreasonably priced. When seeing Yealands' Sauv Blanc also at $13 (about a 30% overcharge) I simply wondered if the sticker shock was intentional to deter excess mall drinking? In fact, the staff overall seemed listless and without direction. I want to be extremely clear-- While I would categorize the service as a hint below mediocre, I don't believe this to be the fault of the waiters/bartenders. When they did interact it was polite and professional. They simply had nothing else to do with only three other patrons at the bar and a completely empty dining room. It's impossible to be engaged in the work when you're bored senseless. The food needs the most help out of any facet of the experience. The menu almost seemed like it wanted to be small plates or tapas focused which is a brilliant idea for a quick serve, retail centered operation. But there wasn't enough variety in that segment of the menu to really sell it. I wound up "playing it safe" by ordering Steak Frites which was priced extremely fairly at around $25. Then I saw why. Noticeably undersized portions of totally underwhelming product. I'll grant Steak Frites is typically a smaller, cheaper cut of beef but this was perhaps a four ounce filet, maximum, of something unidentified (I'd guess tenderloin?) accompanied by about a quarter of a potato worth of shoestring fries and a small molehill of baby arugula. While the steak was seasoned very nicely and cooked to my spec, it would only have been "enough" had there been more substance in the sides. The mid-cold, limpid fries of McDonald's quality and almost baffling pile of overdressed arugula just didn't cut it. By the by, hosing down a single green in dressing does not a salad make, fellas. I went in not particularly hungry and I very rarely order beyond my initial meal but I was simply not satisfied so, while still seated and reading other yelp reviews, I ordered a cup of the crab bisque which all other remarks here highly suggest. Again, reasonably priced, slightly under portioned, but certainly more attractively plated than the steak with a nice cheese toast lain on top. Unfortunately, while the flavors and construction suggested what could have been a great soup, its inedible saltiness killed it in the cradle. I am a salt guy, believe me, so for me to say it's overboard means it would be enough to induce a stroke in a normal human. This implied to me that the soup was not particularly fresh, perhaps going unsold two days or more slowly reducing in a baine-marie. Even if fresh and simply over salted, either way nobody bothered to taste before service. In short-- I hit them on a bad night, clearly. I walked away believing that my experience was atypical and a circumstance of the overall blah atmosphere of the evening itself. The impossible to hide flaws in the menu are more damning but I think the bottom line is, if you go in expecting a top tier dining experience, the letdown is your own damn fault. It is firmly a Nordstrom with a restaurant rather than a Bazille that happens to be in a Nordstrom, get it? And with that in mind, it's passably inoffensive. read more

Tucked in the back of Nordstrom's, this was a pleasant surprise. Staff was attentive, and food was very good. There is a full bar also. The chicken sandwich was loaded with avocado , lettuce, tomato, bacon and crispy green beans! Delicious ! The French dip was also great, with both sandwiches accompanied by crispy fries and a really delectable olive aoli for dipping. Prices were reasonable , too. Will definitely come back. read more

Delicious fresh ingredients and a menu that was versatile and interesting. We sat down in a booth near the windows and our server was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Prices are on steep side for a lunch menu in a mall department store, but all the same, I would eat there again. They make a great Bloody Mary and the Asian salad was a perfect choice for midday dining. The fish and chips was also delicious with the right amount of crunch everywhere! The side salad with the corn that accompanied the fish and chips was also great! Fantastic lunch! DJ and I went to Nordstrom when the SONO mall opened to check it out and saw this really cool looking restaurant space. We went back today to have lunch and loved it. We shared the bacon maple deviled eggs which were fantastic. DJ googled the recipe and swears he'll make it for us. I had the chicken sandwich and DJ had the gnocchi duck ragu with lentils. Both were excellent. Btw, we first got there no window seats were available, however one opened up and they asked if we wanted to move - no problem . Appreciate the good service! read more

We've been coming since opening week and enjoy the food very much. All the food is made to order so it's fresh and the portions are the right size. The pizzas are very good and tasty and we love the haddock and fries. The salads are all tasty- I love the shrimp, the chicken, the salmon, all excellent and good portions. You do wait for your food and I would recommend putting out some bread, breadsticks, veggies, something to tide hungry people over. It's also good that you can put your name on the list and go shopping until they text you .. hate just standing around and waiting for nothing. Coffee is excellent and desserts are not bad. I came in here as a group of 4 towards the tail end of dinner, so the restaurant was mostly empty. We were promptly seated, but just getting our waters and lemonades took quite a while. I ordered the southwest chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich came almost burnt on some portions of the chicken, but overall was pretty good. The portion size seemed a bit small compared to most comparable restaurants. I left still feeling a bit hungry. Bottom line - the food was pretty good, but service is a bit slow and portions too small for the price. It's worthwhile if you're in the mall and don't feel like driving elsewhere. read more

Finally vaccinated - and hungry - we came up from Manhattan to eat at Bazille, and to see the new Nordstrom. We're glad we did. Besides the beautiful weather, the food here was amazing. Everything we tried was perfectly prepared, including the deliciously indulgent crab bisque soup! We loved, loved the Halibut & Chips. Incredible. Of course, we consumed the creme brûlée. Yum! This restaurant has an air of refinement and sophistication like its sister restaurant downtown on W.57th Street. Here, Bazille is set inside a really nice new store, with really nice outdoor views. The bar area alone should be a great after work Happy Hour, or weekend scene. We were well looked after by very knowledgeable servers, thanks to Enrique. And we were impressed by a talented and skilled kitchen that knows its stuff, thanks to Sous-Chef Patrick. For others wanting to venture outdoors this spring, we strongly recommend Bazille! Love the view. Love the mall and food here. With few exceptions, the waiter was awful. Due to the high profile of the area and we had a great service here before, but not yesterday. It took him 10 minutes to have water on our table. Pizza was amazing and tacos was great, but our server was not in a good mood. However, We should respect each other fairly specially my family is Spanish. The waiter is also Latino. My main reason of his unfriendly service maybe he thinks that Hispanic culture does not tip very well? His service was mediocre, appeared inexperienced and abrupt, not at all friendly and cheerful, however, we come here all the time since the beginning as it's our close by mall, but if I don't live nearby I'd never come here regardless of the view. I'm not sure how every time I go there is some different issue or new restriction. I am very well aware of the covid guidelines for restaurants and make sure to be compliant of all of these regulations. I was here a couple months ago with my husband. We sat at the bar and split a club sandwich and I had a cup of soup. My husband had a beer and I had a glass of wine. No issues. Today my daughter and I had been shopping and decided to get a light bite to eat. At 4 pm we wanted to sit at the bat get a glass of wine and a couple appetizers. I was told bar was closed as no bartender but we could sit at a table and order and get a drink and food. We sat down and were the only customers there. Waiter came over gave us menus and water. We wanted to split the crab salad and each have a glass of wine. I was told we couldn't do that and we each needed to order food. I then said I would have a cup of soup. He again said I couldn't do that. I was a bit shocked as I have gone to restaurants and been able to order an appetizer or salad and a glass of wine. I asked to speak to the manager and someone from the kitchen came out and asked what we were ordering which I told her and she said that was fine. We waited and a few minutes later a gentleman came up didn't introduce himself and said we couldn't have what we ordered because it wasn't following guidelines. That we needed to both order full meals. I stated that was absurd and I understand the guideline to eat if you want a drink as we both were going to do but he was rude and insisted that wasn't. It was embarrassing and disappointing to say the least. We had three different people tell us different things. I certainly wasn't looking to break any covid rules or restrictions, but to have three different employees tell us different things was embarrassing read more
