Have been to Bazin's Next Door for two holiday parties and, while it can be hard to get to around rush hour, it is a nice, warm place with excellent staff. Drinks are always on point, and the food is always delicious. I would hope for more variety in the menu next time though as it seemed to be too heavy on seafood dishes. I would prefer a more balanced menu with better options for all. Only complaint from another guest was that their steak was overcooked (medium instead of rare), but, to be fair, they did not request rare and the server did not ask. I look forward to my next visit! read more

We had our company holiday party there. The place is nice and cozy. Food was delicious. Service was good. Our guests enjoyed their food and the environment. We had good time there! The only issue was lack of parking, but it won't affect our rating. read more

Came here for a work dinner. The entire space was rented out for us. The bartender was great- he remembered my drink order and kept me refilled all night without me having to ask him. Passed hours d'oeuvres were delicious! The menu offered a very good variety. My favorite dish was an appetizer that was potato dumplings with large chunks of lobster. So good! Parking is available on the street but also a very small lot is located directly underneath the restaurant. The spaces are very tight, but if you can a space there, you can park all day there with no time restrictions. read more

This is a multi-purpose review. As others have mentioned and what you may have read in the news, this place used to be the Bazins' Alegria restaurant (which I loved), but they made the decision to close it a while back and just use it as a private event space. They also host Alegria "pop-up" nights as well as wine dinners and I've been to both, which is what I am focusing this review on. Let's start with the taco pop-ups. They host these 1-2x per month and focus the menu on a selection of mexican-themed appetizers, a host of tacos, and several desserts. As for the appetizers, I personally love the guacamole and the short rib nachos. The guacamole is super-fresh, and an enormous portion - topped with queso fresco it's great start to the meal (be warned - it is filling)! Also filling but equally delicious are the short rib tacos - the sweet short rib meat really goes well with the black beans, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, cheese, etc. that they feature with the nachos. My husband and I have split these a few times and they really could be a meal. We've had nearly every taco on the menu, and our personal favorites are the crispy maine lobster and the filet mignon (note: the maine lobster tacos are served cold and in a hard shell). We also love the black beans and rice that are served family-style and accompany each order. Most recently, we attended a Chateau St. Michelle wine dinner at Bazin's Next Door. We've been to wine dinners at Bazin's before but this was our first one in this space. It was nice to have a smaller, more intimate dinner, where it was easy to hear the winemaker describe his experiences. Food, as usual, was delicious - perfect pairings. I miss Alegria being in the space, but I'm always happy to see a taco pop-up night! read more

I have had two PHENOMENAL events here! First, in December 2016, we hosted our engagement party here. It was the perfect spot. It was easy to plan and the night itself went so smoothly. The service and smiles were welcoming, the food was decadent and excellent, and everyone had a great time! We were so happy we chose Bazin's Next Door for this party. Then, just last week, we hosted a company client appreciation event. Again, phenomenal! From initial ideas and research, to picking food and wine from the catering list, to setting up, to the actual wonderful event...it was a seamless process. Everyone who helped us had a huge smile, the service was excellent, the space is really nice (small enough to keep it intimate, not too small that we couldn't comfortably fit 70+ people in there!), the food was delicious (crab cakes, black bean goat cheese empanadas, cucumbers with salmon, sliders, endive cups, and more... YUM!), and it led to a lot of praise from all attendees. Jess, Oscar, Gabby, and Melissa (and a couple others) were such amazing hosts! Always on top of the ball, lots of laughs, etc. We will definitely be back year after year! Highly recommended. read more

This review is a long time coming. I have had 4 events at BND. One birthday party and three company holiday parties. Every one has been amazing!!! And I am ultra picky! What do I love about BND? 1. The staff! Absolutely the most accommodating, attentive and fun staff of anywhere else around. Period. Jes, the events manager is next level. Always on top of her game and takes great care of each and every guest. The bar staff, servers and kitchen staff are also top notch. 2. The space - Such a cool Spanish, rustic styled space with exposed brick, wrought iron fixtures, cool lighting and tons and tons of atmosphere! 3. The food - Patrick and Julie Bazin have created an event menu that caters to every palate and execute all of the offerings perfectly. Every time we have been there. Easy street parking, great location, reasonably priced for the experience they provide. I highly recommend!!!! read more

10 out of 10! Bazin's Next Door was the absolute PERFECT location for our small, intimate wedding in November. From the very beginning, their staff was wonderful to work with. We worked with Melissa who was very laid back, easy to communicate with, and very thorough and open minded to our ideas. We felt very confident about our event as the day approached, but nothing could have prepared us for just how wonderful it was. I was blown away at how beautiful the room looked, how exceptional, attentive and personable the entire staff was, and how delicious the food was! Our bartenders were absolutely fabulous, and when we turned up the music for dancing, they even sang along with us! Everyone was so warm and friendly, it made the whole evening an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone for the warm hospitality and yummy food that everyone raved about! To anyone looking for an event venue look no further. We recently had a full open bar and sit down dinner for 31 people and could have not have been any happier. Coordination with Julie and the tremendous service of Jess and Gabby made our night memorable and our guests extremely happy. This place is adorable! Great place to host our annual company holiday party - it was just the right size space for about 20-25 people. I love the brick interior and they had just the right amount of holiday decor that made it festive but not overly done. The service was nice and the drinks were good. Before dinner we enjoyed the wrapped shrimp and mini quesadillas for passed hor d'oeuvres and they were both delicious. I loved the wrapped shrimp. For the main course, I ordered the lobster bisque and 2 entrees. The loved the bisque because it was super light and had a good amount of lobster meat. For my steak, I asked for a Medium Rare w/a Pittsburgh char on the filet which it came out medium and no char. It was seasoned well - I just love my crusty black char! I also ordered the Chilean sea bass, the fish was cooked perfectly, the accompany wasabi mashed potatoes were also good, the sweet sauce atop was a bit too sweet for my taste. It was prepared without a crispy skin which I found "missing" although it did make the dish less fatty than chilean sea bass would be if cooked skin on. For desert I had the Mango Sorbet which was delicious and the perfect palette cleanser. Perfect portions sizes all around. Will be back if I'm in the neighborhood again. read more

We had our wedding and reception here in late October and it was outstanding. As soon as I found this place online, we went to visit it and even seeing the outside and peering in the windows, we had a strong feeling that it would be perfect. We just hoped the price would work for us too. Melissa showed us around and guaranteed us there were no secret costs or fees, and she was right, and we signed that day and never looked back. All the decisions of a wedding were taken care of--linens, lighting, table settings. The decor inside and the ambiance was warm, cozy, elegant, easy, and functional. It didn't have a formal feel, but the way the space is designed help inform guests what to do. Extremely accommodating staff on the day of--took care of placing all the flower arrangements and even cooked a box of mac and cheese for my nephew, which was above and beyond. The food was exceptional and all our guests were raving about the food and the venue and still are. Several have gone back to Bazin's on Main and called it a hidden gem. It ended up working out great for us because we had a short ceremony on the front porch and closed the glass doors, but if we had to be inside b/c of weather or if we wanted more privacy, the kitchen was pretty loud since it was open (which added a great feel most of the time), and it would have been hard to speak loudly enough during the ceremony and would not have been the best background. So, just consider where you're having the ceremony and when if you're doing a wedding there. We had it right before dinner, after cocktail hour, so that's why the kitchen was getting noisy. From the beginning of planning a reception for after my father's funeral service to the very end, they couldn't have been nicer. I worked with Melissa who manages the private events at Bazin's and she was great. I really didn't know how to plan as I was coming from out of town, had never been to Bazin's and wasn't sure how many people would show! She was so helpful and experienced in organizing this type of situation and put me right at ease. She created a specialty drink menu in my Dad's honor (We had a Martini Bar & his favorite Beer) and I just went with her suggestions for the food. It was a great mix, some passed items, and a station of make your own sliders and salads. The coconut shrimp were a favorite! And we had some tables and chairs set up, and lots of standing and seating around the bar. Everyone had a great time celebrating my Dad's life! She even went to great lengths in putting together a slide show for us to show on the screens. (if you do this you must bring your own lap top). We had our rehearsal dinner at Bazin's Next Door. From the initial planning with Melissa until the final execution, they did an incredible job. They allowed us to decorate beforehand, and made sure every detail was perfect. We arrived a little late due to weather, however no one made us feel rushed. The staff was incredible, very talented mixologists! Everyone made us feel like we were right at home and the food was out of this world. We could not have asked for a better evening. All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the service, food, cocktails, venue, etc. We made the best choice having our rehearsal dinner at Bazins, and we cannot wait to go back. read more

Had girl's brunch there today upon recommendation from another friend. Nice place. Nice brunch menu selections. One thing i was disappointed in....I LOVE cheese blintzes. We ordered them and they were cool in temp....like no one could decide if they were to be served hot or cold. But...that was just an appetizer. Quiche was very good and a nice warm nutty bread was served with our drinks as we were seated. I promised our waiter Sam that I would give a shout out to him on the iced tea and his amazing napkin folding skills! read more
