Very nice vineyard. I found their glass of wine to be a bit expensive, but the chardonnay I purchased was fine. The grounds are rather hilly. It's a beautiful setting, and sits next to a regional park with a nice hiking trail. Parking here is a bit tricky they have more than one lot. Just know walking about the grounds isn't the easiest because of the hills. (Elders may find walking about difficult). There was a small wedding taking place during my visit, which added to the charm of the setting. read more

Paradise Springs Winery is such a beautiful spot, especially if you're looking to spend a relaxing day outdoors. The grounds are amazing--surrounded by trees and rolling hills, with a vineyard nearby that really adds to the atmosphere. On a nice day, it definitely gets busy--almost every picnic table was taken when we visited--but there was still plenty of seating inside and on the patio. They had a food truck on site, and you can also order charcuterie platters at the counter. I liked that you can bring your own picnic too (just no outside alcohol). They are also dog-friendly! I was a little surprised to see so many kids, but thankfully parents were keeping a close eye on them, so it didn't take away from the experience. There's a solid selection of wines available by the bottle or as tasting flights, so it's easy to find something you like. Tastings at the bar with a wine educator are a nice touch, though they can be a bit limited if the place is really crowded. The only downside was that they seemed a bit short-staffed during, so tables weren't cleared as quickly as they could be. That said, there are plenty of trash cans and bottle bins around, so it's easy enough to help keep things tidy. Overall, a great place to unwind with friends, enjoy some wine, and soak in the scenery--just be prepared for crowds on nice days! read more

One of my favorite wineries that's not too far from PG County. I really like how they've set up separate areas including child and dog-free spaces which makes it easy to choose the vibe you're going for. There's plenty of parking, although it can get pretty crowded and a bit tough to find a spot when they're busy. The wine is on the pricier side but it's always a good time whenever I visit. He gave me the flight so I can take to a table and assisted me when I asked to try their port and made a few purchases. Food: one of my friends did get the Indian flavored flatbread that was so good! I had so much fun at Paradise Springs! We were there for a little event which served one white and one red wine, and wow, they were very smooth and easy to sip. The ground were beautiful too and it was clear why so many families and large parties came to the winery: it was like a park with a big grassy area for kids to run around and there were also fire pits for the chilly weather. Very disappointing experience at this winery in Clifton. While my husband and I were seated outside on Sunday, April 19, a strong gust of wind caused a large open umbrella to fly into me, striking me hard in the neck and head. The impact smashed me to the table, broke our wine glasses, spilled red wine all over my husband's pants, and ruined our time in general. What was most upsetting was the lack of response from the staff. Only one server and a guest from a nearby table checked to see if I was okay. It took about 10-15 minutes for a manager to come over. I explained that I might need medical attention and asked for the incident to be documented. I was told that a senior manager would contact me the next day, but no one ever followed up by phone or email. Accidents can happen, especially outdoors, but the lack of urgency, concern, and follow-through was unacceptable. We left feeling ignored and disappointed by the level of customer service. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning and will insure to deliver this message to my neighbors in Clifton. read more

Great winery not far from downtown Clifton, VA. They have a variety of wines to choose from and my group particularly like the option for the wine flight. It was a really hot day when we visited and we ended up sitting on the back patio since the inside was crowded and loud. Unfortunately the ceiling fans didn't do enough to cool us down and we cut our visit short. In normal, comfortable weather, this winery is a great place to visit since they have plenty of outdoor seating. We didn't try any food from the food truck, but the flatbread pizzas looked good. We invited friends to spend NYE 2025 with us at Paradise, we were looking forward to a great time with friends. It was extremely disappointing to see children running through the area with zero supervision and the high pitch screaming from a young child was ear piercing! The staff ignored what was happening (possibly instructed not to upset the parents)! The experience made the night feel as if we had attended a daycare event and not a winery. If the winery is going to allow children on NYE then maybe have certain hours for families with children to attend--and a time when adult only can enjoy time without the negative experience. There is also a safety concern that needs to be addressed for unsupervised children. Parents who do not supervise their children should be held accountable! All while only traveling about 45 minutes from the DC metro area. My husband and I came by on a Sunday to catchup with friends and enjoy some wine. My friend is a member, so we were able to get a discount on wine purchases, but the pricing is really pretty reasonable even without a discount. They offer a basic wine tasting for $5 and a reserve type tasting for $15. We tried both to enjoy a wide variety of offerings, since this was our first time visiting Paradise Springs. I traditionally prefer reds, but I didn't dislike anything we tried. Their reds are a little lighter tasting than I had expected for Bordeaux type wines, but were still good. We ended up preferring the Virginia native red, the Norton. We purchased a bottle to share with our friends and continued enjoying lively conversation along with wine and snacks. One of my friends brought in a charcuterie board she made herself, so if you are wondering if you can bring outside food, the answer is yes. The winery also offers some snacks type food for purchase. I've been here many times to meet up with friends I love the large outdoor space and that you can also have an option to go inside and enjoy your wine if the weather is bad. Their food truck has been on repair the last few times I've visited so hopefully they have it up and running soon! The inside area can get loud really quickly but I do really enjoy their outdoor space. There is overflow parking available too if it gets really crowded. You can bring food as well. She was quick to respond to every email, welcomed us for multiple walkthroughs of the barn and outdoor spaces, and even organized a wine tasting for our group. She really took the time to understand what we wanted and made us feel taken care of. A few days before the event she checked in, which helped us prep for the weather and iron out last-minute details--such a thoughtful touch. On the day of the wedding, Kayla was there from start to finish, making sure everything ran smoothly. She managed the bar staff, coordinated with our caterer, helped with music, and was always nearby if we needed anything (even something as small as adjusting the AC). One of the best vineyards in the area! Usually vineyard food is sparse and not very filling but this place probably has the best selection out there. They have a food truck outside that serves things such as gourmet hot dogs and flatbreads meanwhile you are able to order charcuterie boards inside. We ordered the sauerkraut hot dog and the kimchi hot dog. The kimchi hot dog was so so good! The kimchi was very pickled and had good spice which I was pleasantly surprised about! We also ordered the winemaker sampler which comes with 6 different wines, there is another sampler option for a more expensive price however we were happy with this one. This vineyard is close distance to the downtown clifton area, so I would highly recommend stopping by Petersons afterwards for ice cream! read more

I traveled from Washington, D.C. to Paradise Springs Winery with my girlfriend for our anniversary. We were very excited to check it out, since we had such a wonderful experience at the Paradise Springs in Santa Barbara, CA. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were greeted by some of the rudest and uncalled for service. After my girlfriend asked me a harmless question about whether we were members of the winery, a server by the name of Franz chose to not only interject without being asked, but also make a rude comment insulting our intelligence. Although I would shrug a snide remark off on first instance, we asked Franz specifics about the menu to only be met with more attitude and inconsiderate treatment. While I wish it ended there, my girlfriend asked one more question about the seating at the winery and was rudely responded to a third time. It was certainly disappointing because we enjoyed our wine and had high expectations given how incredible our experience in Santa Barbara was, but service this poor and impolite is completely unacceptable. As many of you can imagine, it is already a rather anxiety-inducing endeavor for two Black people to travel deep into the rural parts of Virginia, and for our first encounter upon arriving at the winery to be one filled with such negativity left us both with a terrible taste in our mouths. We will not be returning to this location and would not recommend it to any of our friends if this establishment is willing to employ individuals like this. read more

Visited on a Friday afternoon, the pizza food truck was a big influence on why we came here & it did not disappoint! Have you ever had butter chicken pizza?! Me either until I tried it from their food truck! It was sooo good. (As was the pepperoni pizza, but the butter chicken was the star of the show.) We also tried the cannolis which were pretty good but not my favorite. My mom & I each got a winemakers flight which we enjoyed! I preferred the winemakers flight as opposed to the other option simply because it had 2 white wines! We also each got a glass after the flight, the only downside is you can only get a glass of the wines that are offered in the flights (which I understand but still a bummer!) Tucked away near Clifton. It's a beautiful place with lots of grounds and seating. This place does get crowded. My advise go on a weekday BUT the food truck only operates on weekends. The red flight is now up to 30.00. I did not experience problems. Parking seemed limited. This is a nice destination. As for the wine it's good and older so the vines are mature Better than most around. Note: I personally think Virginia wines are expensive compared to others areas. We had a large group come here and this winery was able to accommodate us easily outside, and being able to bring dogs and our own food was a huge plus. There were a good number of tables and they were all first come first serve, but they do have spaces to reserve if you have a private event. They have a lot of parking as well and the overflow parking has a sidewalk going to the actual winery too which was nice. If you want to sit inside, you can sit in the main winery as they have tables there, or you can just pick up the wine there and move around. The wine itself was also very nice. The flights were very pricey though, I remember seeing around $20-30 for a flight when a bottle started around $30ish up, so buying a bottle made more sense. read more

My wife and I had our baby shower in their historic barn this past weekend, and it went seamlessly. The barn is cozy, warm, and compliments the vineyards nearby. The coordination in advance with Kayla and her event planning team was clear and concise, the space was arranged exactly as discussed upon our arrival, the staff was attentive and friendly the entire duration of the event. They handled cleanup and made the entire event stress free. True professionals! The wine was exquisite as always! The Aprés Rosé was a big hit! This is our favorite local winery, located in beautiful historic Clifton and right next to Hemlock Overlook Regional Park. We come often, and one of my favorite ways to spend a sunny day is to go on a hike in Hemlock and grab some wine here after. I don't think we've ever had a wine we didn't enjoy, though some (like The Chill, The Moment, and the Meritage) stand out as exceptionally flavorful and unique. The rose is also very drinkable. We don't drink whites as often, but the ones I've sampled have been tasty. Seating is abundant - the winery is on a huge patch of land, and there are benches and plenty of room for picnickers in addition to nice garden-style seating up front and fire pits that can be booked for colder weather. The back patio is 21+ which I appreciate as a childless millennial, but the entire rest of the outdoors is child and dog friendly, and the kids seem to be having the time of their lives running around in the field. The interior is quite nice, but we usually prefer to sit in the sun, so we've never tried it. The winery itself offers a variety of cheeses and crackers that can be purchased a-la-carte to make your own cheese board - visitors are also welcome to bring their own food, and we oscillate between bringing our own cheese and snacks and trying theirs. Their artisan pizza truck (which is open on select days - check their website for details) is quite possibly home to the best pizza in NoVa - and we lived in NYC for ~10 years so kind of a pizza authority here. They also sometimes serve lobster rolls which I hear are good, but I don't eat shellfish so I can't weigh in. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Several of the bartenders have recognized me as a repeat customer, so it's probably time for me to sign up for their wine club. I was once accidentally charged wrong for an event, and the woman I spoke to on the phone rectified the problem IMMEDIATELY. On that topic, their ticketed/package deals for special events (like Easter) are well-curated and super fun. 5/5 stars. read more

The location was surrounded by a beautiful woodland area. The picnic tables were spread apart on a bit of a slanted hill and a flat area below. The line for the bathroom was smoothly organized by the staff who kept track of which porta potties / indoor restroom were available. Visited on a very cold and cloudy day in February. We sat near a fire pit which was nice. I wish there had been tableside service but we had to go inside to order our drinks. We ordered the $18 wine flight and it was pretty good. I am not a big red wine person so I wish they had a whites only flight. My favorite was the Sommet Blanc 2021. I love Sauvignon Blanc and wines that aren't too sweet so this was perfect. We even ended up buying a bottle of it. We eventually moved inside once the cold got to be too much and that was a more enjoyable experience. Lastly, they did have a food truck with pizza. The pizza is similar to &pizza (long flatbread style). We ordered one of these with arugula and spicy prosciutto. It was very overwhelmingly spicy and it was $20 which I think was a little steep. It is one of the best locations close to the city! I find for all other wineries with this woodsy vibe you need to go 45-60 minutes away but Clifton is only 25 from us in fairfax! It is local to petersons icecream and twin lakes golf course. It's a great date day for us to go to all 3! In my opinion, all wineries should allow outside food like paradise does. We've had work outings and group picnics here many times. The food truck is very decent but the ability to bring grazing snacks without paying $10 for a box of crackers is very idea. The staff can be a little rude when booking large reservations They essentially don't take them for anyone over 10 people but it's kind of free-for-all when you actually get there! Great live music often too and very nice flights! We are seriously considering becoming members. IMO it is the best price to benefit point in the area. You'd be looking at about $300 a year for 12 bottles, 4 complementary flights a quarter and very cheap flights other times! read more

The perfect, family friendly winery. We went on a weekday and there was barely anyone else! Although, I don't think seating would've been a problem even if it were crowded because they had a lot of outdoor seating areas and I believe inside too. It was so peaceful and calming just being outside by the shade. Each of the patio tables had its own umbrella, so that's a plus to avoid the heat! Overall, the atmosphere was great. You could bring your own food, but we just ordered from their menu. I was hoping to try out the food truck food, but it wasn't there because apparently it only comes on weekends (which makes sense!). The wine we got wasn't too dry and I loved the rosemary crackers with the cheddar ball! So glad one of the workers recommended the cheddar ball. Oh, and the workers are so sweet too!!
