My friends and I were hanging out trying to figure out the right food for a dinner meal. We already had the alcohol, so the natural fit seemed to be grabbing some Korean fried chicken to go with it. Having had a previous good experience, we opted for some takeout from here. We ordered a ton of food. I'm a sucker for the cheeseballs but it is definitely an acquired taste. It is almost essentially just cheese in a pastry ball. We tried the rose rice cakes. They weren't overwhelming spicy, but there was still a nice kick of spice in it. The highlight of the chicken for me was definitely the pa dak. All of them were very delicious overall and left my friends satisfied. All in all, I can't complain about the food here. I have to say their chicken are quite impressive. B and I ordered dinner through UberEats. Please note that the prices on Uber is $2 more for each item. We ordered 2 extra sauce, a rice, one honey & garlic fried chicken, one spicy mala fried chicken and one spicy mala hot chicken over rice bowl. The total of the dinner plus tip and taxes was around $70. Luckily we had a 30% off on UberEats. It was definitely pricy to order on the app. Their chicken was really crispy and the sauce really sticks to their chicken. The rice bowl was a bit spicy and the chicken was not as crispy as their fried chicken. Portion size for the rice bowl was quite big. Note that bb.q Chicken & Pub is a franchise from Korea. So it is pretty legit. Their fried chicken was a bit more expensive compared to its competitor but I would say it is definitely worth giving them a try. We will be back but probably next time, we will eat in the restaurant and not order take out from UberEats. read more

Ambiance and service is great, staff are friendly. The food portion received in comparison to the written price was disappointing to say the least. A single coleslaw portion was a size less than what I could grab as a handful (my hands are small) for $3.50 The chicken was good but were overpriced for the portion ($21 baseline for 6-7 pieces). Quality of seasoned chickens were alright. The Golden Fried Chicken tasted like it was air-fried. Was not worth the price. If looking for a casual and cheap alternative, don't recommend :) read more

Super crunchy delicious you just want to keep eating more and more. We introduced my dad to bbq chicken and now he literally eats it once a week. Portion for a full order is mediocre! Flavour is there but you would have to settle in so little for what you paid for! Too bad

During covid, bb.q chicken is currently only doing takeout. We tried to call ahead of time to order a few times but after not having anyone pick up, we decided to just go to the restaurant to order. On a Friday night, the wait for food was a little over an hour. I might decide to order via one of the delivery apps next time but in general I don't like to do that as the apps usually take a large cut when it could be going directly to the restaurant. We ordered a small of the soy garlic and the honey garlic and both were quite tasty. Unlike other Korean fried chicken places, I did wish they offered a boneless option. Overall, not bad. read more

Wow! This place was crazy good. It's honestly hard to decide what to get from everything on this street and it's also intimidating because of all the people I saw along the way doing naughty things in the street. Because of that I almost turned back. But I saw chicken on the sign and was curious, then when I looked at the menu and noticed it was Korean fried chicken I walked right in. I was greeted immediately after walking in and was seated. We got the soy garlic and the honey garlic wings. I'm also a sucker for pickled radish so I'm really happy that they serve that here. When I found out it was in Surrey we just had to check it out and see if it is as good as the K Drama portrayed it. And yes it was. bb.q is your new baby and mmm baby, it's quite good. I ordered their 8 piece signature Golden Fried Chicken on the recommendation of my brother in law, and wow, was that the best investment ever. Perfectly crunchy, mildly spicy crust, and juicy incredibly tasty meaty goodness in the inside. This fried chicken is the stuff of dreams! Delicious! Just so good. The heavenly taste just stays in your mouth and leaves you craving for more. My stomach said no, but my mouth kept saying hell yes, gimme more! I had never heard of this franchise before, apparently they're quite popular globally? But I'm glad they set up shop here. In these parts of Surrey we've been lacking much of a restaurant scene, specifically really good fried chicken. There's Church's and some mom and pop Korean joints, but that's about it. Nothing spectacular or breakout amazing. Bb.q just changed all that. North Surrey is now on the map thanks to bb.q chicken and their fantastic fried chicken. read more

BB.Q Chicken, you've seen their product placement in tons of Korean Dramas, and maybe you've seen their expansion locally, as they seem to be popping up in all the major hubs around town. Normally located inside an H-Mart, this location is a stand alone and has taken over the Boiling Point location. I've tried their food at different locations, and that's the benefit of having a chain, it's consistent. We ordered the half and half, which is our go-to. The order took about 50 minutes and it was fresh chicken, of course. I love the regular fried chicken, as it has its own signature taste that is deep and flavourful. The secret sauce is also great as it makes use of what I can only assume is apple sauce to provide a bit of extra sweetness. I can't comment on other aspects of their menu yet, but I'm sure they are equally good. I do plan to expand and try some of their other offerings down the line. I have also yet to try the boneless option, but do note they charge extra for it here. All the other BB.Q locations I've ordered from usually had a promo where you get a free can of Coke, but that was nowhere to be seen at this location. With regards to the pickled radish, it tasted old and stale, as if it had been sitting in a jar or can for too long. That's really the only way I can describe it, and it stands in stark contrast to Boom Beer across the way who, in my estimation has the best, freshest pickled radish this side of the Fraser. The Guildford area now has a concentration of 3 Korean fried chicken houses in very close proximity, and I think that's the limit. BB.Q and Boom Beer take the top spots - you can't go wrong with either. Do yourself a favour and grab some chicken. read more

I noticed a new Korean fried chicken in the area and decided to order some fried chicken and spicy rice cake for take out. We ordered the half and half whole chicken. It was nicely packed with a side of pickled radish. The chicken was very crispy. Meat was tender and juicy. The golden chicken was good but I felt it needed a bit more seasoning. The secret sauce chicken was a sweet and mildly spicy sauce. The pickled radish helped cut the heaviness of the deep fried chicken. The spicy rice cake was actually spicy. I was pleasantly surprised. There was veggies, fish cake and half a egg included as well. The meal was more than enough food for two people to share. Overall, I think this restaurant is a great addition to the area. read more

There's a reason BBQ Chicken is the #1 fried chicken chain in Korea. There's something about it that just stands out among the rest of the Korean fried chicken joints. Now that they have these BBQ Chicken restaurants opening up and not just at HMart, there's a larger selection of options to try and I'm here for it! We ordered the Soy Garlic Chicken, the Galbi Q Chicken, fries (with your choice of dipping sauce - we chose their secret sauce, which turned out to be yangyum sauce, the sauce that is used in their Secret Sauced Chicken), Spicy Dukk Bokki, and their famous Cheese Balls. Everything was absolutely delicious! Both types of chicken were so tasty and well sauced while still maintaining their crispness. I wouldn't hesitate to order either of them again. The must get dish, however, are the Cheese Balls. There's a reason why they're so popular in Korea and I'm so glad BBQ Chicken has them. They're a scrumptious mixture of sweet and salty, what with the sweet rice cake dough and cream cheese filling. I will get these every time! The fries and dukk bokki were good, too - although just note that the latter is quite spicy. All in all, I'll definitely be back for some more mouthwatering Korean fried chicken! Just a heads up that if you happen to look at their Uber Eats menu and see the combos that are offered there (Combo A, B, C), just know that they're only offered for Uber Eats and not if you order over the phone or in person. That's a bit of a bummer, but the lady on the phone was saying that the portions are smaller for the combos anyway rather than if you ordered each dish separately. I'm a big fan of Korean fried chicken and this place does not disappoint:) Ordered 1/2 and 1/2 Golden fried and sweet spicy (yangyum) bone in. Batter and skin is so crispy and crunchy and the inside is tender and moist; the four must haves for legit fried chicken. Plenty of flavour esp with the sweet and spicy. And honestly, my favorite is the straight up Golden fried. I would have given 5 stars except they won't swap out flavours for the 1/2 and 1/2. Wanted to try Golden with Soy Garlic but a no go. read more
