    Katsu don

Quick stop for lunch for 2 of us. Friendly place, very down to earth. We came for the soup. The fish cake soup lunch combo was great. For $17 with rice, banchan and a side of veggies and two pieces of fried chicken. I LOVED the fish cake soup. I added tofu to it. It was very filing in fact I couldn't finish it but I loved the 5-6 diff types of fish cake plus there was the ddokbokki or Korean rice cake. It's a really simple fish broth but I really loved it. Would definitely come back again for it. The Katsu seemed good too but I only tried a tiny bit. Good place!!

B and I felt like having Korean fried chicken for dinner. I went on UberEats and went through the options. Seems like Oz Korean had a pretty good deal at that time. With any purchase of $40 and more you get a small order of KFC for free (valued at around $16.50). I went ahead and ordered a padak chicken, sweet chili chicken and an appetizer size Dduckochi. The flavor of their chicken was not bad. However, in terms of crispiness and crunchiness, it was not wow. The color of the batter was a bit off. The worse was the Dduckochi. It was super hard and almost inedible. It was pretty nasty and do not recommend ordering it. Portion size is a bit on the smaller end given their prices. It was nice that the regular fried chicken came with a side of mustard. The mustard was pretty good which was a nice touch. However, I think the restaurant misread my order and charged me for a padak chicken but didn't give me the padak chicken or unless the padak chicken tasted like the regular chicken. I am guessing their Korean dishes are a better option than the fried chicken. Seems like they are not good at making fried chicken.

I went here about a month ago to get lunch. I was happy to see lunch specials it was huge. I ordered Hot Pot and Bibimbap Combo it came with 4 side dishes and soup. This included tofu, radish, pork ribs, fried chicken with salad. It was quite a surprise seeing food coming out fast. Pork rib was grilled with torch, fried chicken was pretty good and radish came in plenty of amount. Everything seemed perfect until Sundubu came out. I asked for less spicy soup which came out as medium spicy for my liking. My gut is SO sensitive with spicy food. I felt sick after eating the soup because it was overpowering and too spicy. Other than that, I couldn't finish everything so I packed leftover for work lunch. I'll try other stuff on the menu just that their food was too spicy. How I wish I didn't have upset stomach for a spicy food.

Ordered via UberEats and got a small sized regular chicken for free. Wow the size of this is so small. It should be around half the large size but it is about 1/4. Not sure if they do this normal for small sizes or they give less for the free item. The regular chicken taste good. It has a mustard dipping sauce which was a nice touch compared to other korean fried chicken places. The yangnyeom was lacking in flavor. We had the large size and it was a good portion The bibimbap was so tiny. It was so disappointing because it didnt even fill up half the container. Not worth to get this item here. I would stick to original flavor or try other flavors.

Hidden gem in Coquitlam. Two of us ordered pork katsu, half order of fried chicken and seafood tofu soap. These are the three most recommended on the menu. Pork is very juicy and not overly oily, the fried chicken used dark meat so it was juicy and flavourful, again not too greasy. The seafood tofu soup tastes like what I had in Korea, it is pretty spicy tho so don't order it if you can't handle it. Service is fast and servers made good recommendations. Overall, top notch Korean food for Canadian standards.

Was in the area so stopped by OZ Korean cuisine. Tried their chicken platter which came with half spicy, half regular, snowing and onion chicken. Chicken pieces were tender but flavouring was not the best. The spicy had a strange flavour and aftertaste. The snowing, regular and onion were decent. The seafood pancake was not flavourful and could use more seafood. We also got a kimchi fried rice and soya sauce chicken which are not pictured. The kimchi fried rice was nothing to write home about, but I do recommend the soya sauce chicken. The soya sauce chicken was the best item of the night.

Pros: - Tasty Korean fried chicken that's well seasoned and not too salty. Very crispy too. - Good variety of flavors. - Other dishes like pork bone soup are very good. - Vibey. Cons: - Service can be slow depending on the time. - Place can get busy.

Came here around 530pm, after a little hike at Buntzen Lake and quick stop at Coquitlam Center. Glad we came at that time as right after, there was a lineup at the door. The food is good. I got the katsu don and my girlfriend got the seafood tofu soup. It is a little more than other places and you only get kimchi and pickled radish side dishes. The katsu don was flavorful but since the katsu was in the bowl, it wasn't crispy.

We went to this place based on the good review and it didn't disappoint. We had 2 chicken platters, donkatsu and cheeseball~ and their portion was great, more than we expected actually. Service is decent, our waitress was attentive and made sure we have everything we want. Ambiance looks very much Korean style so it passed the vibe. I definitely recommend this place.

I have been here previously when take-out was the only option. And that experience was eating outdoors. Very glad that I was able to dine-in to this restaurant as it was originally planned. Not many restaurants offer complimentary tea, and fortunately this restaurant offers it. But the spicy Dduckibokki (spicy rice rolls with fish cake) tea doesn't help, but the copious of cold water does really help. Ordered 2 main dishes and 1 appetizer. The Dduckibokki, Japchae (glass transparent noodles with beef), and the 6-piece Gyoza. Of the 3 items I ordered, they were all definitely will please restaurant patrons. If you don't enjoy a little spicy, I don't recommend the Dduckibokki. You can request mild spice, but it may not be suitable for those who can't handle the Spice. But if you enjoy spicy food, then I totally recommend the Dduckibokki. As long as you have cold water by your side, you will be fine. The Japchae is a good choice. Nice smooth transparent glass noodles with the beef. Great combination. And finally the Gyoza. Deep fried and quite crunchy!

GEM! It is popular to order the Korean Fried Chicken here. They have a large section on the menu for it. If you're cautious about eating fried food, everything else on the menu is also delicious. The service here is incredible. It is the main reason that I am writing this review without delay. First of all, the host was all smiles, and cared like only an owner would. It didn't stop there. We wanted a side of kimchi, which wasn't included in anything we ordered on our first round. So we asked for it at an additional cost. Later on, we ordered a soup, that comes with kimchi. We didn't even think of it, but the server said she's taking it off, because its included. It was a little thing. We would never have noticed. How did the server even remember this detail? Awesome staff. You guys must be treating them well. Just their natural helpful attitude makes all the difference. We enjoyed everything we ate. Gentle warning: Line ups are not-uncommon. You may have to wait for a table.

    Viviann L.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Not too big of a place but still quite a few tables. The tables are arranged in a way that makes the space look more spacious and customers aren't squished together which I appreciate. Not the biggest menu but they do have a few different options from fried chicken (quite a few flavours), to soup, noodles, and other appetizers. I've heard mixed reviews about this place and mostly a mediocre vibe so never felt the need to try it. The other day it was one of the 2 places that was open late that isn't fast food so we thought to give it a try. Man was I wrong, it's a great place. They open late, kind servers, good portion, and the food tastes great. Fried chicken were so juicy! It's mostly for simple or fast food/late night meals not a home cook authentic Korean restaurant but they have the staples. It satisfied my cravings and it's a lovely experience. Not my go to for Korean food but it's a perfect place when I want something simple like fried chicken and some soup. They make bomb soup

My favourite place for Korean fried chicken in the Coquitlam Centre area. I use to come here quite often when I worked in the area and would get their various fried chicken flavours. Can't go wrong with any of them as they are all DELICIOUS!

This place, tucked away just 5 minutes' driving distance from Coquitlam Centre, is clearly beloved by the local Korean community. The portion sizes are generous. They are perfect for sharing with family or friends. We saw many families and younger groups dining in, which gave it a cozy, homey vibe. We can taste the love and comfort in every bite. Here's what we ordered: * Beef Tartare Bibimbap - Not your typical bibimbap! The raw beef was beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. This was hands down our favourite dish! * Naengmyeon - Cold noodles in a super refreshing broth. Perfectly chewy with a balanced, savoury tang. A must-have on a hot day. * Japchae - Excellent portion, great price. The noodles were springy and not greasy at all--just the right balance of flavour. Great value, quality ingredients, and authentic flavours--Hansol is definitely going on our go-to list whenever we're craving comforting Korean food. We ordered short rib BBQ, Beef tartare Bibimbap, and original-flavor deep-fried chicken wings. Beef tartare Bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl with a variety of vegetables on top of the rice. The gochujang sauce was served separately, allowing us to adjust the spiciness to our preference. It was a pretty good dish. The short rib BBQ was very tender and nicely seasoned. It was slightly on the sweeter side, very delicious. I will definitely order it again. The original flavor deep-fried chicken wings were served fresh and hot. They were incredibly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside--very good! Next time, I should order them with a flavored seasoning, as I already knew the original version was cooked with less saltiness, meant to be paired with a sauce. Overall, I really like this restaurant. The food tasted good, and the most notable point was the reasonable price! It was a very good deal, and it has now become one of my regular go-to places.

Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup!
